The Dents

And then we were off to the 64th floor as the door opened we all got off from the elevator to check out whether it was safe out there or not, and awkwardly it felt like we would be safe in here, till the device beeped again as we felt that something was about to go wrong in here and ahead in our way to the next floor.

The Overseer said,"I will tell you all a secret, this school is meant to be fun for you as I consider it myself as a game to improve your mind, and if you all succeed, I literally mean "all of you have to succeed", if you want it to be fun but to be honest I don't like it when it is fun for you all, because I like it when it is fun for me, if you get me. And the 64th floor is a refilling floor you can get guns and even foods and drinks to stay alive a little longer. Don't worry, there is a lot to eat and drink over there. So enjoy there while you can because the path ahead will be more enjoyable !"

Those thing that he had told us were creeping all over my head, as it all felt scary and stupid to me as thinking about how in the world did we all get in here.

Hassan was the first one who showed how pissed, he was getting trapped in here by firing on ceiling. Suddenly after Hassan shot on the ceiling something fell over his head.

James and Rebecca were so surprised after seeing that thing.

Rebecca said," I just can't believe after you shot on the ceiling this came out of there, well it is a Machine Gun, if you don't know what it is. And it is unstoppable, when put to use ".

And then we all came across a hall designed as a mansion, there was a dining table with a lot of fruits, different types of meat and sweets dined nicely. On the other side there was a stall of bullets on any kind. Suddenly we all felt we were safe in there.

At the moment of having some point of relief the devices on our necks beeped again," Well I am sorry to have interrupted your small moment of relief but I wanted to reveal a secret that is dark and will be dark on your journey ahead. As I have seen you all are bonding well and getting through all the troubles, There are two person among the group that you all are, in which, One of those does not know, while other does know about it as that person knows about "it", ...is the traitor among you all and is helping me a lot in understanding how you all are doing there ".

He paused for a while and then continued," So I will tell you all one thing, those two will survive through even if the others die, because those two are infected by my virus which is the strongest virus that I had ever created. So take care ! ".

As we felt comfortable for a while, after hearing that, well we started to doubt each other and at the same time felt that the Overseer might have wanted to get in our heads and kill each others ourselves.

James and Rebecca didn't believe anything, They ignored whatever the Overseer had told, as they had started to eat from the Dining Table. I felt that both of them are of no trouble to us, as they were leading us across that hell.

Suddenly Rebecca came to confront us when we all started to doubt each other, She said," You all are too young and are now starting to act mature already by doubting each other whether the traitor is real or not, why don't you think that the Overseer might have lied to you or not ? ".

I replied," Yes I did, but also felt that it might be true, what the Overseer had told us ".

Then James replied," Well you are a smart girl who trust her instinct but you have to trust your friends more here ".

I was shocked after hearing that then felt as if I was the stupid one and then I asked James and Rebecca that were they always kidnapped like we were.

Rebecca replied," No, we were not kidnapped along with you, but we both were the best friends of the so called "Overseer", His real name is Martin. He was my boyfriend till James his best friend proposed me. James, Me, Martin, and Danny, James's best friend were brought to this Place and Martin blindfolded us here so we can't look around. He told this would be a great surprise weekend set up by him. And then now we are here and Danny is dead, James, Danny and I were working in the Military, while Martin was a Scientist, well now a Mad Scientist ".

After hearing their back story, I felt sorry for the Overseer after going through that feelings but now because of his ego they are trapped in here with us. But I don't understand why are we here for, what have we done to him and why Allan with it.

We wasted a lot of time eating and finding weapons for ourselves, for while.

Suddenly the elevator opened up and the device beeped in our neck, The Overseer said," You might have enjoyed your quality time doubting each other and now it is time to move to the 63rd floor. The devices in all of the kid's necks are called HG, it helps them as it can be used to navigate the other HGs and the other speciality of it is when it is pink, you are at normal stress rate, when it is purple, you are at high stress rate and when it is flashing red light that means you are about to get mutated by the device ", The Overseer paused for a while.

He continued saying," Well Danny and James helped me to build this device, Thank You James, but I can't Thank Danny because he is dead. So I will give you all one more advice, do not underestimate The Dent even if it can't see, it has an unbelievable killing instinct and it could evolve to fly, to see through the sound waves, so be careful on yourselves ". And then the HG beeped off.

Then we got into the elevator and was off to the 63rd floor. When it stopped at the 63rd floor, all of a sudden we all started to feel cold, and then the door opened. A cold mist entered into the elevator, which felt even colder then.

After getting out of the elevator we started to look around our surrounding to check where we were. This time it really was a maze and it had 5 starting points. There were 12 of us too. Minimum 2 of us can go through one of the lanes.

So, it was like James, Rebecca, Allan and Me went on the 1st lane, Sarah and Xavier on 2nd lane, George and Hassan on the 3rd lane, Diana and Andrew on the 4th lane and John and Benjamin on the 5th lane.

While we will were all set and ready to go on, the HG beeped and The Overseer said," Well you all are finally here, this is my first maze out of a many. Here there are 5 lanes, in which 4 of these routes would meet up, Also there are 2 Dents in there and Don't worry there are two exits leading to 2 different routes, but it will connect in the last at the end, near the elevator. So, bye-bye, enjoy yourselves ! ". And again the HG again beeped off.

The maze was designed with concrete, the sides of it goes all the way to the top, so basically, we can't hear anything from the other sides, neither can they.

And then we were all off into the maze which had narrowed path, as we entered into our lane the path where we had come from just shut. So we couldn't turn back if we had to and like we all excepted it was so silent in here and we couldn't hear anything ahead of us. We felt something was not right in here. After moving through the maze, our route didn't merge with any other routes for while, so we knew our route was the one way route.

And then finally we came across the creature that The Overseer calls,"The Dent", It had a body like a Havek did have but it didn't have an open intestine like it but had 4 spider like tentacles behind it's back, it had a Frankenstein like head without eyes but had ears, a mouth full of canines and also had a razor sharp claws as it's hand. At the moment I saw it, I understood that this creature is worse than monsters told in myths when I was younger at Archeology classes.

When I looked at Allan, he kept himself calm and quiet and ignored the fact that the creature is just a few metres away from us, but I couldn't control myself for spilling out tears. Allan saw that I was about to cry, he came close to me hugged me and wiped of my tears whispering," If Dad was here, He would have said us to Keep calm and You don't have to worry because I will be always there by your side, So Take care of each other no matter whatever the circumstance may be, Never ever Abandoned each other and I Love you both, So sis don't you worry I am always here for you ".

After hearing the most beautiful thing that he had ever told, I kept myself calm and hugged him back, and then I started realising that he had grown up a lot and matured too.

James whispered," I am sorry that I am interrupting a beautiful moment between brother and sister but we are in the middle of a situation of that monster heading the way the way we are in ".

Rebecca took the Machine Gun and went into the open trying shut down the Dent, Rebecca then started to shoot it even without hesitating to aim properly at it. The Dent looked like it didn't have any problems facing the shots. When Rebecca was reloading bullets into it, we looked at the Dent as didn't have a scratch on it and started to move faster towards us.

At that point of time, Allan came up front, took his pistol and shot exactly at the centre of it's chest, then the Dent got staggered as it had a difficulty in breathing. At that point we saw that it didn't have nostrils but had gills in the side of it's neck. Allan shot at it's gills too, The Dent died after that.

We were all shocked after seeing Allan takedown a monster on his own and even when Rebecca was struggling to do so. Rebecca went towards Allan and hugged him thanking him for saving them from it with a smile.

After a while I asked Rebecca," The Overseer told there are two of those things out here right, that means the other one is on the other side. Do you think they will be alright ? ".

Rebecca replied," Don't worry kid, since, Diana is there with the rest of them, they've got a plan to get through that thing, After talking with her I understood she knows how to get through this ".

Meanwhile James and Allan were trying to get to know each other. Then we came across a sign saying "Maze Completed" and then came into a Hall designed just like a Sports room, After entering inside we met some other survivors just like us, who had HGs. There were 3 other groups other than us.

Suddenly the HGs beeped and The Overseer said," Well done each and everyone of you in making it out of the maze but in here each of your teams will face of each other in a Dodgeball match. And the conditions are The winners stay alive, while The Losers die !, Mwahahaha ! ".

We didn't hear what he said at the first but when we saw the others were getting ready to face off each other we also had too. First of the other two groups faced off each other and had found a winner in that match.

Next up it was between us against the other group. They started pretty amazingly as they took out Rebecca and James so it was up to Allan and Me. At that point of time I thought of the time in the maze at the time when Allan and I bonded. But it was no use for me as I got taken out and it was all on Allan. I knew that Allan was good at Dodgeball, but never seen him play till now. He just took out every single one of them even dodging their throws.

At that time the other two teams which got eliminated were brutally killed by their HG as it exploded them completely. And we had to face off the other group, but this time none of us were taken out as we dominated the other team. But this time the team which was eliminated only two had HG while the rest didn't have it like James and Rebecca. They were killed by the drone on the edge of each side of the Hall by getting shot to death.

Meanwhile on the other side of the maze, the other 4 lanes of the maze had connected into a single route were they also met up with a Dent but got very lucky by Hassan wildly firing at the Dent had hit on the surplex, which is the central chest of it by which it start suffocate and started to breathe heavily through it's Gills, so Hassan shot at it's gills and became the hero over there. They went ahead as they made it past the maze and into a same Hall as we went but played Basketball.

Then The Overseer said," Congratulations as the winners enjoy your win while you can as your elevator is ahead ".

James asked," Where are the others !? ".

The Overseer replied," Oh ! Don't worry about them they are winners exactly like you but not in Dodgeball but in Basketball and are on the other side and are ready on their elevator ".

After hearing that we got into our elevator which was off to the 62nd Floor, who knows what we were going to face to meet up with each other...
