Chapter 4 : Makeovers and Haircuts pt2

Nectar wasn't too upset about her hair but Liam was literally fuming. The air around him was quite hot as well, " You should really calm down, you're turning into a pressure cooker ". Liam shook his head as he tried to calm down, " I'm sorry, I failed to protect you. If that was an actual attack, you wouldn't be here ".

Nectar waved it off as she held on to his arm, " But it wasn't and I'm not hurt so you should really calm down ". Liam nodded and the air around them suddenly seemed cooler. They soon got back to the palace and Liam left to blow of some steam , literally since he was a Galer - a person who can control and manipulate the air around him.

Nectar changed into an even more relaxing outfit. A simple pink flare dress with a green collar and short sleeves with green strap sandals. Her white hair was now a little over her shoulders.

She ran her hands through it and sighed [ Some people just think I'm easy to bully. I feel bad for them ] Liam was pacing outside her door, " Are you sure you're okay "? Nectar nodded flipping her hair, " It'll grow back Liam. Look at the bright side, it's good for the hot weather ".

Liam nodded and Nectar walked out, towards the entrance. Liam was rather curious as they walked towards the stables, " Where are we going "? Nectar smiled brightly as she looked over her shoulder, " We're going shopping ".

Liam's mouth twitched [ What? ] " Did you lose a bit of your sanity when you lost your hair " ? Nectar giggled and pretended to be upset, " Then I'll buy some when we're out shopping ". Liam couldn't reject her so they spent the rest of the day at the market place.

Eros had a lot of work to do but he still needed to sort out Nectar. She'd probably be throwing a tantrum or crying somewhere and he couldn't really blame her. Unconsciously, he touched his hair [ Life without hair seems bleak ]

He was a bit surprised when she said she wanted the servant killed but his sweet Athena had saved his life.

Nectar was quite gentle and Kira, his mother didn't particularly like her. She could have used this opportunity to bond with her but instead she left which was strangers since she wanted to meet them so badly.

Just then a shadow knight appeared as he went on one knee, supporting his weight with his other hand, " Reporting to his Majesty ". Eros waved his hand, signifying him to go on, " The Empress has already left the palace ".

Eros narrowed his eyes " What do you mean left "? The knight bowed lower as he spoke, " Nothing in particular. She seems to be out shopping and was in a good mood ". Eros dropped his pen and smirked, " Leave her be then ". [ What exactly are you up too ?]

Nectar spent the whole day buying whatever she thought was pretty and poor Liam was having a hard time keeping up. His empress had appeared moody and quiet in the last month but today she seemed like her old self, energetic and loud.

People who stopped and starred most have thought they were siblings. With Nectar all over the place and Liam helplessly following after her. By sunset, Nectar had already bought hundred bolts of fabric, plants, sugar, wood and many other items which were already delivered to the palace.

Most people were shocked when they realized she was the empress and word soon spread. She was nothing like the rumors, ugly and hot tempered. Instead, her aura was inviting and she had a carefree smile on her face.

Nectar on the other hand was memorizing every nook and cranny, every face she saw in case of anything. She'd decided to find a tattoo artist to do something about her scars but now it didn't seem plausible.

It would be a lot easier to explain a tattoo than scar marks especially since she had no explanation for either yet. Nectar bounced happily with sweets in her hands and mouth and Liam laughed, " Your gonna need a dentist soon ". Nectar rolled her eyes playfully as they walked.

Just then Athena appeared and tried to hug Nectar who easily avoided her and didn't drop any of her sweets. Athena was startled but her expression made her seem weak and defenseless. Nectar paid no regard as Kira glared at her disapprovingly.

Nectar ignored the two and skipped up to Arthur, " Father, I got you one while I was out ". Arthur collected the sweet she offered clearly amused " Only one? you've got so many, you can barely carry them ".

Nectar giggled and playfully shook her head, " Then Father can come over and I'll make you more than you can carry ". Arthur nodded and unwrapped the sweet she handed to him " Alright, I'll hold you up to your offer ".

Athena and Kira were momentarily dazed as Nectar skipped off giggling without even acknowledging them in any way. Nectar bounced happily into her courtyard when she stopped suddenly.

It took a lot of effort not to frown so she bowed to hide her expression, " Greetings to my emperor, first star in the dragon's domain " [ Get out. Go away ] Eros waved his hand, signalling for her to get up " No need for formalities ".

Nectar could feel someone glaring at her and sighed, turning in its direction, " Nice to see you too Lord Dodwen ". He didn't respond but instead snickered.

Nectar had no time for this so she turned back to Liam, with a smile in her voice, " Attend to our guests. I'll be right back ".
