Episode 5

A 24 year old girl was pushed to a corner and it solely depended on her whether she bounces back or stays there, regretting. But she was determined to take charge and go forward.

First thing she had to do was change her name and get a new identity to be able to carry on with her plan without leaving a trail, in case someone digs around for her. By now she had acquired quite a number of enemies. Xi Jingfei once had heard of some people who created duplicate and fake ids that no one could tell a difference about being real or fake, as long as they are paid enough. Then again, such things were illegal but a person on the verge of getting killed but still needed to live could anything to survive.

Xi Jingfei went to one of those places and flown her money she had ‘borrowed’ earlier, and asked them for a new id. The person in charge came out of his chamber to take a look at her. Cao Gao, the person standing in front of Xi Jingfei, identified her in a local newspaper. Her face was as such, not anyone would forget after a meeting. Even in her training camp where she went for her Administrative Officer’s training, she was said to be the most beautiful and elegant of them all. Her perfectly angled nose free of any bumps or irregularities with a pair of almond shaped eyes and her pinkish lips with a cupid angle bow, on her oval shaped face, fair colored skin tone, gave her a look of that of an angel. He took a closer look, Cao Gao did.

“Lixue!” The first word he said looking deep in her eyes. Not getting any response from Xi Jingfei, he continued,

“As pretty and pure as snow you look, Lixue should be the best name to describe your exquisiteness. Since you are already here changing your name, maybe you could use this one.”

Xi Jingfei hadn’t thought of any name, but hearing his explanation she liked it too. Her eyes deepened as she asked,

“Did you by any chance recognised me?”

Cao Gao: “Certainly. I’ve seen you a few times in the newspapers of City L and City U. But never really expected you to be here making such a request. What happened?”

Xi Jingfei: “I don’t think I need to answer any of your questions. Just satisfy my need and be done with it. Don’t dig any further. And yes, in case someone comes looking for me, keep your mouth shut.”

Cao Gao: “And why do you think I would agree to that?”

Xi Jingfei: “Because I heard that you people also have your own set of principles and that you Mr Gao follow it without any underhand conducts. That’s the reason I chose to come here of all places.”

Cao Gao: “You’re quite conversant, Miss Xi. Alright, I’ll be tight lipped as always, not because of the business ethics but because I’m guessing for someone like you to come all the way here and ask for something, must have been for something really important… Then may I ask which name have you selected for yourself?”

Xi Jingfei: “The name you gave me just now wasn’t a bad one either, I would like to go with that.”

Cao Gao: “Very well. It’ll be done in two days. You can come back again after that and take your new id.”

Xi Jingfei was quite satisfied with the time frame. Clicking a picture for the id wearing a brown elbow length wig and paying advance deposit, she left the place without further conversation.

Cao Gao turned to his lackeys who were sitting there the whole time, and said with coldness in his voice,

Cao Gao: “Don’t let anyone find out about her transaction here and no one should know about our conversation. Miss Xi Jingfei is one of those hard core government officials who believes in upholding the law and works selflessly for the citizens. Since she came here in such a rush and asked for a new id, it must mean she is caught up in some huge mess. Even though we are doing illegal business but we should still respect those who have considerately worked for the society.”

“Okay, Boss. We will clear any data related to this one.”

“Not clear, don’t even create it.” Cao Gao instructed with a clear respect in his eyes for the girl who left.
