The same scenery as my middle school played in my sight, as a living memory. Our classroom was slightly bigger than the others, maybe because it was a biology laboratory, but besides the name "laboratory" nothing inside was like one. I expected that we would have dead frogs and functional microscopes, yet all we had was a singular microscope that was accompanied by some potato worms, gastric acid, and many things but minuscule. I was scared of seeing a frog opened up, not just by any person but me, that thought hunted me until today.
We took our seats down, I was at the first seat beside the window, it helped with my eyesight and I was staying alone. Don't get me wrong, I would love to have a bench mate( as I nickname them) but I don't have the best memory of them. What happened you may ask? This is rather embarrassing, in middle school, I preferred to stay in the back benches, yes the famous back benches that can do whatever their heart desires. That was the problem, one day one of my dear classmates (which I will nickname devils for obvious reasons) decided to pull a prank on me and stole my chair (which was in the worst condition possible). I was the only one standing and the teacher walked in, they thought I wanted to respond about today's lesson. But the happy ending, they were punished.
Moving on to the present day! I was lucky enough that the chairs were glued to the floor and that was not going to happen again. I let out a sigh of relief, maybe they were not that bad. My relief was rather short because our principal walked in and gave our schedules, teacher names, and everything. That is followed by the most cringe part of the session (in my opinion) the principal followed by the sworn of kids with bouquets in hand. They all waited for their chance to give a "Have a nice year principal! I hope everything will go well". That sentence alone made me feel like it will be the opposite, it was my turn and I gave the everlasting speech that everyone previously said, I did some grammatical mistakes here and there because of my nervousness, and I was about to give them the flowers when a hand switched my hand, so the bouquet was upside down. I don't know if anyone still cares about this stuff but I am sure that it's pretty much a thing for us:" The flowers are given upside down for those who are alive and up straight for the dead" or something like that. I didn't care too much about that until now but now every time I give someone flowers I first need to have a panic attack about how to hold them.
The first day was finally over, I went straight to sleep until the very next day.
Day 2 of hell
I went to the bathroom to do my daily routine. When it comes to dressing up and stuff, I think I hold a record for it, not officially of course. All the remaining time I spend either eating or watching my favorite show, who needs food when one of your favorite characters is being slaughtered? Anyway, I finished all that and went to my first part of today's survival: the bus. Finding an empty bus it's like trying to find a needle between the gasps of the car components. You either give up and walk to school or you wait until a free one comes, when it comes it feels like you've won the lottery.
After that, it comes the biggest part of survival: school time.
I entered the classroom, everyone was shining as usual. I sat down and observed their movements. When one of my classmates approached a wall, I was about to go there but April jumpscared me in the process.
"What do you think about this class?"
"It could be better...I think" I said as I watched the classmate ripping off the cheap wood of the wall in the back of the class.
"Don't worry about him, he thinks that he will find a secret room or something."
Then as the light hit my head, an evil but genius plan was gifted to me.
"What if he is right?"
I rushed to the boy, it was that feeling that you have when you watch adventure movies, a feeling of discovering something new. The wood was torn apart from the wall but it could be put back together. The guy didn't hesitate and threw a punch at the wall. The force was too much, or the wall was too weak but we discover a small light coming from the other side.
"Seriously what that wall was made of?" said the guy as if he won the MMA tournament.
"Apparently not a wall but why would they hide this? Are there ghosts?" said a girl that worries too much
We decided to hide the evidence and never talk about it until tomorrow, I was already dreaming of making a small business in that place, or maybe we could discover a treasure. I waited until tomorrow like it was the coolest thing ever.
Day 3- Secret room reveal?
After I arrived at school I was impressed by the number of people gathered around the back benches, near the supposed wall. It seems that a girl knew the principal and they talked about this and gave us their approval to do whatever we want with that as long as it brings profit to the school. What a jackass, but smart. So I stepped forward and with nervousness I said :
"What about we do a café and in that a place where kids can leave a memory and stuff."
The idea didn't sound half bad, there was one obstacle in our way, money. We didn't have the money or an adult with us but our lovely April came up with a genius idea:
"Let's improvise then!"
I swear that sometimes this girl is smart only when she wants to. But to be honest, everyone liked the idea, and so my second goal was born, ironic or not will make my survival easier because if everyone acknowledges you as being responsible then you have chances at making friends. Only one big obstacle was in my way: the fact that I don't like seeing too many people in one space and the fact that I have two left hands
What am I going to do?
