Episode 2

"What's that, Mama?" Rex asked with his innocent face, making Kaylin burst into laughter after previously crying, entertaining the restaurant visitors.

"Never mind what Mama said earlier!" Kaylin stood up and stared sharply at her caretaker. "Where is Mommy going this time?"

"Madam and Sir suddenly had some business in Bali, so I was instructed to bring the little master to you."

Kaylin sighed heavily because once again, Rex was entrusted to her because Cleopatra and her brother were busy working. Do you know what her sister-in-law forgot? That she was also busy, busy looking for a partner to be her future husband. And it should be emphasized, how could she find a lover if Rex always followed her everywhere and called her mama?

One more thing that her sister-in-law forgot. Kaylin was still young, her age was more suitable for having fun, not burdened with the task of taking care of a little child. Although the opposite happened, Rex was the one who took care of her more, with his carefree nature that couldn't disappear even though she was already an adult.

"Let's go home now!"

"Rex wants ice cream," he didn't want to go home before his Aunty bought him what he wanted.

"Oh my goodness, Rex Meyer..." Kaylin messed up her nephew's hair in frustration. Because she was amazed by Rex's love for ice cream, ever since her nephew was still in her sister-in-law's womb. And don't forget, she was once told to buy ice cream that was quite far from the Meyer mansion.

"Mama will buy it, but let's go out first, okay." Kaylin led Rex towards the exit.

"Mama aw—" Before Rex could inform her that the glass door in front of them hadn't been opened, Aunty Kaylin had already hit the door.

"Hey...Who put this big glass here?" Kaylin asked angrily while rubbing her sore forehead.

"I'm sorry Miss, this glass door has been here since the restaurant opened," the restaurant waiter answered.

"Oh great, answering back too, I was just asking to lessen my embarrassment," Kaylin cursed in her heart. She hurriedly left the restaurant, half running.

Unbeknownst to Kaylin, the incident she had just experienced was observed and closely watched by a sturdy man sitting at one of the tables in the restaurant.

"You're still the same, clumsy, childish, and spoiled," he muttered. He stared at the woman who used to fill his days with all the silly behavior that irritated him. At first, he thought that after not seeing each other for three long years, Kaylin would have grown into a more mature person. But the reality was that she was still the same as the last time they met.

After buying the ice cream Rex wanted, Kaylin walked towards her car parked across the street. However, as she was about to cross, a black car came speeding from the right. Unable to dodge because she was too shocked and scared, Kaylin could only close her eyes as she felt her body being embraced and quickly falling.

"Miss.. Are you okay?" Kaylin, still terrified, dared not open her eyes even though she heard many voices asking about her condition. But when she heard the sound of a crying child, more precisely Rex's cries, Kaylin slowly opened her eyes.

"Mama..."

"Rex..." Kaylin hugged the small body that looked very frightened. "Mama is fine, don't cry."

"Mama... Rex's scared."

Ignoring the pain that was throbbing through her body, Kaylin tried to stand up while carrying her nephew and comforting Rex, persuading her nephew to stop crying.
