So the conclusion is that Actually ML loves divine but he mistaken his attraction for AGNES. He wasn't in love with her maybe that's why he didn't feel anything while killing her. But whenever something wrong happens to divine he can't help his feelings. That's what I think. Otherwise why would he killed his own wife whom he claims to love for all his life but feels nothing when she couldn't breathe and died in his arms.
