Chapter One

Knowing that Sabrina would marry her cousin in exchange for his father being introduced to one of the wealthiest clan of the Springfield, she thought of ways to escape from the marriage that his father has announced. Frustrated to the engagement approval by the king, she went to the hidden lake between the boundary of clan Callymore (the clan that reigns the entire springfield ) and their clan which is the Fergusson Clan to unwind and clear her mind. Little did she know, the crown prince she feared the most because of rumors and known as the one who slaughtered his people was in the lake too, trying to find the culprit in putting the crofter's land on fire and killing his sister when he was mesmerized after finding out that he is not alone in the lake as Sabrina is bathing with her beautiful dress that complimented her rare beauty and a perfect timing with the bright moon that brings light to that night. As there fate crossed, everything changed.

I never imagined that I will be marrying that man and that is the least I could think of.

One hard slap on my face welcomed me as I entered the hall of throne. My father looked at me with anger and disgust.

"I never thought that you will bring curse to this family! You embarassed my empire! You put shame on my name! You ruined my reputation as a King! How dare you when you are just a princess hiding behind me!?"

He shouted and he tried to hurt me again but my mother stopped him.

Slowly, my tears started to flow in my cheeks. I can't believe that my father decided that fast after knowing that Balbrook is connected with the Harfield Clan—a wealthy clan in the whole Springfield.

I removed my sandals and slowly stepped on the water. I really love this secret lake—the place where I go whenever I'm upset, sad, lonely or angry. Except that father does not want us to go here or anywhere outside the palace. Once we get caught, he will surely be angry and punish us.

I went to the deeper part of the lake and my long blue dress get soaked in the water. I immediately saw my reflection in the sapphire water together with the bright beautiful moon that compliments my red lightly curled hair, my blue deep eyes, well sculpted nose and my red lips which I inherited from the queen.

I stared blankly to the water. Is it my beauty that they called "rare" is the reason why Balbrook really wanted to marry me even though he knows that I am against it? If so, should I ruin this beauty?

"You're upset"

Nicholas—my younger brother said.

"You do not want to marry our cousin, right?"

I looked at him and my tears slowly escaped again.

I did not do anything and I do not want to fucking marry that old ugly pig. He is a poison in my father's mind. He only wants my father's empire but my father is being blinded by Balbrook's promises that he will introduce father to Harfields Clan.

The memory flashed in my mind.

I was standing on the balcony and looking at the million stars in the sky when I heard someones voice.

"I've been waiting for your answer to my marriage proposal but never heard anything back to you. It makes me wonder what is your decision."

Balbrook said before walking towards me. Wearing his grin smile and ugly face, I could not help but to look away just to avoid his malicious eyes. He is my mother's nephew but older than my mother.

"Why are you here cousin? It's late at night."

I tried to speak and act normally even though I am feeling uncomfortable.

"Oh Sabrina, stop with the cousin. We'll be marrying soon. Isn't it great? I have asked your hand for marriage to your gullible father and has been approved. What else I could ask?"

He said with devilish smile. Approved? What does he mean? I clenched my fist but I need to calm down.

The way he addressed my father as "gullible" made me want to kill him. I never thought that after years being with him, treating him as brother will only get me in this kind of trouble.

He has changed. A lot. That I can't even see anymore the cousin Balbrook I once knew. I saw everything he did that night. I know how he stabbed his wife many times in front of me when I was hiding in the closet. That memory, that bloody night haunts me everytime I close my eyes. Everytime I want to sleep. He never knew that someone saw his devilish doings.

He is always good in keeping that secret, or at least, that's what he thinks.

He is always being respected, well-treated and people think he is a good man.

"And you think I can't find way out, right?"

I fired back, as anger started growing in my system.

"I know you'll find way..." he started walking closer to me, trying to trap me but I immediately moved away. "But I know that you know how I can easily manipulate your father, don't you?"

"**** Off! Don't you dare try to manipulate my father. You know what he can do if he finds out . He'll kill you, he'll do everything just to make you suffer and leave Springfield. "

He did not answer. He tried to hold the strand of my hair but I moved away again, creating a bigger distance. I feel disgusted to him. I never thought that he'll be this adamant to marry me for wealth.

"He can't do anything once we got married and I will not let him ruin my plan about us–"

I stopped him talking by my slap. He held his face and his angry eyes is now directed on me.

I can't be so weak in front of him. I hide my fear into a smirk.

" Truly, my father can't destroy your plan but I will and you do not have any idea on how I'll make you get tired of living and just pardon me to just end your life"

Just like how your wife begged you to spare her life but you never listened.

I said with finality and stormed out without looking back. There's no way I'll marry you.

"I will never want to marry him" I answered to Nicholas who's looking at me and waiting for my response.

"You used to be best buddies but now, seems like you don't know him anymore"

"That's right because he has changed... a lot"

" I don't want you to marry him either. He is old and you do not fit for each other."

Thinking that Balbrook is gonna be my husband made me wanna puke.

He stood up and dive in to the water before lifting his head again.

"You want me to help you?"

I want to laugh at him because he is just a 15-year old young man.

"I need a help but do you think, a 15 year old lad can do something about this?"

I didn't mean to insult him but he glared at me.

"Do you want a deal?"

He asked.

This kid is weird but I know how smart he is.

"What's the deal?"

I asked him.

"If I will be able to stop the upcoming marriage, I'll have a 1 request to you but it will depends on when I want to use it and please note that the loser will do anything that the winner has told. But if you win our deal, the punishment or dare will be in your hands. Is it a deal?

I think about the upcoming marriage. Can he really do something about this?

"Done deal"

I said before he swim again.
