A weird case

They were coming down with the stairs carefully, as there wasn't any light source. When they landed on the ground they smelled a strong stench of blood and rotten fruits. Officer 1 turned on the torch and they saw some rotten watermelons.

CHARLIE: Eww, what's this. So disgusting.

AUGUST: Doctor, Check the basement and collect the blood samples or fingerprints if there are any. Officer 2 you search the basement and find from where the smell of blood is coming.
