RAINBOW SHARDS: Orange shard

These beautiful trees still amazes me till now. I was born here, I grew up here till that day but I've never truly seen the beauty of my own home.

I love how the petals shower the hearth when the wind blows.

It feels like the trees are dancing with the hum of the wind.

I sip on my tea, a drink I've become fond of, probably for staying with them.

"thank you for letting us stay here till the gallery."

"don't mention it. We're family now."

I smile at her response. Even though she and him are separated, they manage to make do with it and still make their child plenty happy.

'how I wish I could have the same ending.'

My children were smiling ear to ear while playing with their new friend. How I wish this happiness last.

"so the opening will be next week?"

"yes, but the kids will be staying here till our home is ready."

"well at least my Mica will have someone to play with. "

"thank you again for letting us stay. you also have to take care of the twins next week."

"don't sweat it."

. . .

It's my favorite past time to watch my babies sleep. The way they would hug each other in sleep has become a habit since they were born.

"safe dreaming, my loves!"

. . . . .

Seoul.

I can't really say I'm glad to be back but I must admit I missed this scenery. I missed the busy looks on people. My heart pounded when I heard the sound of Joalarm. My head turned to the direction and saw a couple smiling happily.

A flashback of my own happiness flash through my mind as the images of the surroundings change to the time I am most happiest. The images of myself hand in hand with him, walking on a path where I am not alone. The smile and the happiness that radiates around us, like a bubble. That is the moment I missed the most.

I continue to walk as I reminisce the past that I have with him.

A tear escape my eye when I saw a poster of him. His eyes that smile when he smiles used to make me smile all the time before, now it is just a piece of the happiness I let go.

'I miss you so much, Hwang Sun Oh.'

. . . . . . .

"Okay, we're done."

"Good job today."

I only smiled a bit before going back to my dressing room where yook ji was waiting for me with a water bottle.

"Great job today."

I smiled at her as I went to the cubicle where I change to another set. After, both of us decide to hang out to our usual cafe where we wait for hyung to come.

Someone familiar walk past the cafe. My heart skipped a beat, just like it always does when I am around her. I ran after her, the voice that calls my name fades away as I rush where she was heading.

I followed her from afar, afraid of ringing her alarm as mine stays silent.

Her hair is longer now. scattered as the wind blows lightly on it.

She's still very pretty, now with a more serene and elegant feel as she walks past by the people that sometimes turn to her direction.

Her eyes have different feel now. Before I used to see cheerfulness and warmth in it, now I see different. Something sad, melancholic but there is firmness and the same warmth.

The warmth that melted my pain.

I clutched my chest as she walks toward a guy I have never seen before. She smile at him. The smile that I fell in love with. The smile that used to belong to me.

I hit my chest as I feel the enormous pain that seep through it. She now has someone else. A person to smile for, a person to laugh with, a person to kiss and hold hands with. Someone that is not me.

I glared at them.

'why?'

'why do I still . . . . .'

"Oppa?!"

the image of her with him, walking further from me got blocked at yook ji looks at me with her worried look.

"Oppa! Are you okay?"

I hugged her, my eyes followed her direction but they were no longer there. I hugged her tighter as I breathe hoping that the pain disappear.

She hugged me back, patting my back to comfort me.

'I'm sorry.'

'I'm really sorry.'

. . . . . . .

He continued discussing the coming event to me as we wait for our meal. He kept on saying things on how this will change the tides of art. I am more than happy to listen to him as he discuss business. It will keep my mind off him even with the big stand of him near us.

'He's really successful now. I could see him everywhere.'

"So, are you not planning to use the app?"

"What?"

"JoAlarm."

"It's not like I need it."

"Well, not exactly but it is quite the trend here."

"I don't think it will be necessary, plus if my children find out about it, they will be murdering everyone that rings mine."

"Hahahaha, they are really possessive of you."

"I wonder where they got that?"

"Don't!"

"Everyone is curious, who their father is."

"Not yet."

"well, as long as you know that you will have to say something sooner or later to the kids, I won't press anything."

"Thank you, sunbae."

. . . . . . . . .

"We manage to invite few high positioned people, especially since your New York exhibition was successful, a lot of people were curious to see your next pieces, even buy them."

"Few of your previous buyers from your New York collection even called us and has informed us that they too will be attending."

"So don't worry because I believe in your works. The moment I saw those pieces, I know, this is will be as successful as your New York or maybe even more successful than that was."

"Thank you sunbae."

I breathe one last time as the door opens and sunbae went out first. I could hear all the shutters and see reporters trying to close in as the guards hold them down.

'It's time.'

I opened the door again as Sunbae held out his hand with a smile in my direction. I took it out of courtesy. My sight adjusted with the light of the sun and the cameras that keep on shuttering in our direction.

He guided me inside Cassiopeia while both of us smile at every camera we see along the way. I smile here and there and sometimes even wave.

"You're a natural at this."

He whispered in my ear as we walk.

"Shut it."

. . . . . . . .

Bored.

I'm already used to events like this but even so, I can't help but to feel bored.

'I should leave after the speech.'

"Oppa?"

"Is something wrong?"

"Nothing. Should we leave after the speech?"

"Is that okay?"

"Umm."

"We've already greeted the guests and took pictures. He doesn't need us anymore after the speech. We can make excuse then leave."

"Let's stay a bit more longer so that they won't make any fuss about it."

I only smile at her and drink from my glass.

Yook ju understand me the best. She understands my situation and helps me with it. I'm thankful to her and yet even so, my alarm never rings her.

I sigh at my wandering thoughts as I remember the only time my alarm ring.

'Is it so hard for you to move on already?'

. . . . .

"Oppa, the Cassiopeia Gallery is opening today. Should we visit it first?"

"Cassiopeia?"

Cassiopeia gallery. The news about it went out for more than 3 months. The buzz about it was so loud. The supposed artist is coming for her opening so a lot of people were invited to come. We're supposed to come too but father's campaign was prioritized.

"I guess, since we have time."

I take a U-turn and head to the said gallery.

I'm not entirely a fan of it but I did see some of the paintings. It was amazing. I could feel the varied emotions it carry.

I'm not exactly artistic and I don't really understand art but after seeing one piece, I could tell the burst of emotions that spring in the painting.

. . . . . . .

The gallery was already packed when we arrive. I smile at few photographers as we head inside. The inside is even more amazing. It's like we're floating in the clouds.

"Oppa, I didn't know the artist also do potteries?"

As if in a trance, I stare at the vase, flowery and leafy. I was reminded of my memory in Jeju with her. As we walk in the trees in bloom, as the petals breeze through us.

Her laughter.

Her smile.

I smile as my eyes continue to wander around the vase.

"Sarang."

"oh, the name of the vase is Sarang. Wow. She must be in love."

Without bothering to answer her, my eyes continue to wander around.

The pieces of my memories with her, slowly come to light as I look at the pieces of paintings in the center.

"Wow. She's really amazing."

"Umm."

My hand reach out to the collection of paintings in front of me, as if it called me. There is something in it. As if, it is made for me.

"Oppa?"

"Oppa?"

I turn to Yook Ju who is smiling from ear to ear.

"It's enchanting, isn't it?"

"Don't worry. A lot of others also find it enchanting. They feel like they're being pulled, like a love potion that lures you and make you in love with it."

"I was like that too. I actually still am"

My head turn to the other direction as a man smile as I return from looking at the painting.

"Can you guess what it's called?"

I searched for its name but it was blank.

The artist left it blank but it does have a name.

"can you guess it's name?"

"Does it have anything to do with love?"

He smile at Yook Ju and nodded.

"You're smart!"

"The vase we saw in the entrance is called Sarang."

"Well, you are nearly correct but this one's name is tula."

"Tula?"

"It's a filipino word for Poem."

"Looks like the artist is back from the interview."

It is that moment that I knew why I can't ring someone else's.

My heart has always belonged to her.

The only one who can make it beat and make it stop.

The one who holds my heart.

"Jojo."

"Joey."
