Chapter 4: Luna Academy

Sihara’s POV

“ Jane, have you pinpointed his current location?” I said quietly, in order not to be heard by the werewolf sitting on my right side at the opening program ceremony.

“Not yet Sia. Seems like he’s not on the school ground just yet.”—Jane

“Hey, he’s probably late on his first day of school.” said by the most ‘punctual’ person on my left side, holding his stomach and mouth bursting out of laughter.

I’d like to kill him one day

“That’s just too cliché” he continued in the middle of laughing.

Did this guy, really got chosen by the chief? He probably doesn’t even know how this mission means so much to me. It’s suffocating enough to be with these disgusting werewolves, and he on the other hand, can afford to laugh?

Because of his loud mouth, the werewolves surrounding us, are now staring at him.

But then he didn’t realize that he was stared at. So I took the consideration to make him look around. I slowly and secretly pulled the dagger on my left thighs, hidden under my skirt.

I Slightly pushed it on his side, just enough for him to feel the blades.

He stopped laughing, as he looked at me but was still facing the stage in front of us.

I mouthed to him ; One small mistake, and your life will be at stake

Seems like he understood it, so I was about to place the dagger back but…

“May the new students stand up?”-Principal

Tsk,

I remained seated for a millisecond to swiftly put the dagger back in it’s place.

And stood up at the same time with the rest of the new students.

I’d be noticed quickly if I stood up late since I’m in plane sight from the stage. We’re sitting on the 8th row, but the students in front of me are all senior students.

It’s a good advantage not to be eyed by other werewolves, especially the principal. Keep an average profile and it’ll go smoothly.

“Sia, the beta’s wolf energy has been detected!” – Jane

My breathing stopped for a second as my heart skipped a beat.

“I can’t distinguish his exact location, but he’s sitting somewhere in front of the both of you.” -Jane

I feel like I’ve gone stiff. Damn this cowardice.

“Still can’t break out your shell? Then just let the murderer of your sister run freely.” He said softly and seriously, his eyes , still locked on the stage.

But… he suddenly looked at me and patted me on the back. Not just a normal pat because It felt like my heart nearly went out of my body. I think I just felt my ribs broke.

“And don’t get stiff just yet, you will look like an Ice statue” he laughed so much that it made him cry.

This guy……… I can’t read his personality.

“ Sia! The target’s wolf energy is flickering! It’s starting to Fade on the monitor!” Jane shouted from my earrings ( capable of secret communication.), pulling me back to the mission.

“That’s fine, you’ve done enough” I said as I turned off my earrings. Further communications would be detected

Seems like he’s concealing his wolf energy. And has been sitting casually in front of us all along.

“New students and Senior Students! Let’s all get along and make this school year better than ever!”- Principal

After that, howls and cheers were heard from the students, echoing through the Gymnasium.

As long as I am here, It’ll definitely be better than ever.

The principal soon after, went to his seat and was replaced by the President of the Student Government on the microphone.

I’d definitely keep a close eye on the president. Because fortunately, he came from the 4 senior sections, where the beta energy has been detected earlier.

And it would not be weird if they decided to put the beta on the top position on the Student Government, since he’s the right hand man of the ruler.

I had been informed that the alpha, doesn’t go to school , but instead focuses on business. However, who knows if that information was made up.

Another possibility would be; The president is the Alpha himself.

Though it’s possible, the probability is only 38%. It’s less than a half.

When he went up the stage, the gym suddenly got colder. The cheers and howls earlier suddenly stopped, as the tension got heavier.

A number of the new students slowly fainted , while other senior students, are barely preventing themselves from fainting.

All of the new student fainted except for the two of us and the three others that were shocked of what just happened, but are perfectly fine.

The president looked this way. And I just realized that if we were supposed to keep a normal profile, fainting with the others was the best choice.

This is a supreme wolf energy, used by high ranking wolves starting from Epsilons to higher ranks. In human terms, this is basically a mixture of long range vibration and aura, that could suddenly make someone’s heart rate drop, causing them to faint.

The reason why were immune to this, is that we’ve been drinking the latest drug invention from the organization’s personal laboratory, that prevents wolf energy, to intervene with the daily mechanics of the human body.

It is specially made for the both of us, solely for this mission.

The surrounding senior students quickly faced the sitting area of the new students after the president made his energy disappear.

A moment of silence took place. Their just looking at us while the five of us were creeped out with what they were doing.

“Was that to expose hunters and huntresses? If that’s the case then did they know about the drug we’re using to counter energies?” he said while shivering in fear.

I don’t think so

They won’t have any information about the drug no matter how good their information group is. Other than, it is only used by us, it is only a prototype.

“Unless….”

After that, the word ‘Woah’ suddenly filled the Gym. Whispers and murmurs, got louder and louder by time.

“We’ve been regarded as one of the high ranking werewolves that are able to counter the supreme wolf energy” I said

“Congratulations, the five of you will be promoted to class Luna, the highest learning system available in this academy.” - President

The rest of the new students were speechless for a while but, was changed to a big smile on their face as if they won a lottery.

But it’s definitely a bad news for our side since that section would definitely attract attention, based on the surprised reaction of the senior students.

“The New Luna Students shall remain, while the rest of the students can now report to their respective classes. And bring the fainted students to the Healing Chamber” – President

Few Minutes Later

“Now that you belong to class Luna, outstanding performance during class are expected.” The president said with authority, standing on the stage hands on the back.

“This is really exciting! It feels like were joining the werewolf military!” said by the werewolf behind me.

More like joining those murderers

“Not only during classes but especially on advance training that includes: Cultivation of wolf energy, Physical and mental exercise, flexibility on schedules, etc.” – President

We would definitely be exposed if we stay in this section any longer. We don’t even have the wolf energy that we could cultivate in the first place.

I raised my hand

“Excuse me president, can the both of us not transfer to class Luna?” I politely said

“What?! Oh come on, this is class Luna were talking about!” the girl behind me suddenly intervened.

The president signed to keep quiet, and the intervening girl silenced.

“Why is that so?” the president asked me with the “your-supposed-to-be-grateful” look

“That’s because lowly werewolves such as ourselves don’t deserve to be in single class with the elites” I reasoned.

It’s not much of a persuasion but I only came up with that under this overwhelming pressure.

“I’m glad that you’re worrying for the class’ reputation but you shouldn’t question my abilities to pick. I know what’s best”

Damn, how to get out of this mess?

“You’ll be in the same building with the Beta, so I think that’s already enough to be grateful to be close to him don’t you think?”

The beta? It’s indeed a pleasure to be in Class Luna

“Furthermore, Non-Class Luna student will not be able to enter the building, since I.D passes are required.” He continued

This is actually the right choice. The only way to get close to the beta is actually being on the top class. It may be challenging to keep our identities a secret but I didn’t expect the mission to be easy in the first place.

“ And finally, no weapons should be inside the building nor the dormitory.” He said as he looked at me.

I was stunned, did he saw the dagger earlier? If he did saw it, I just hope that he didn’t notice that it was for killing werewolves. Damn, did I underestimated this school?

“Weapon detectors are placed on doors and windows of the building, plus, it can also detect someone without the energy”

“ Excuse me president, I understand that it can detect someone without the energy, but aren’t werewolves’ nose sensitive to gun powder and such?” asked by the same girl earlier.

“Other than normal guns, there are weapons that can’t be noticed by werewolves even with their sensitive noses, and guns that are specially used by hunters are less likely to be smelled by our kind”

The girl seemed to be satisfied with his answer so she just nodded.

“Aren’t we pretty much dead meats? This is a huge miscalculation on our side” he whispered to me just enough for me to hear

I don’t care if I die, as long as I took that murderer with me to the afterlife.

“Don’t chicken out, I know what I’m doing, and I’m planning to attack at the back where they’ll be most vulnerable and unsuspecting.”
