Dubious Decisions

"Mia : "Yeah I don't think I will find a need for this. *throws it away* I will do just fine without thier help. Or so I hope".

Mia : "Well now that that's out of the way. It's time for some beauty nap. I guess this tiredness must be the after-effect of that tranquilizer. Whatever it is I just hope I don't doze off like my Mom asked me too". *yawns*

My plan was to wake up energized atleast 2 hours later but that plan didn't work out.

*hours later*

Mia : *yawns* "What time is it? Oh it's only 8. It's not a bad time to wake up from a power nap. I already feel energized".

*lifts the window blinds*

Mia : "Ah , the sunlight. Too bright , too bright , too bri- THE SUNLIGHT? WHATS THE TIME RIGHT NOW?".

*8:08 am*

Mia : "No no no no no. I overslept. Wait I completely missed DINNER. NOOOOOOOOOO-".

*Mia's bedroom door clicks*

Mom : "Looks like somebody's awake now. Good morning. Had a good "nap" have we?".

Mia : "Definitely but I'm quite hungry now. I totally skipped dinner yesterday. You know , you could have woke my a- ✨gluteus maximus ✨ up. You didn't even bother it seems".

Mom : "Aw such a pity. I'm supposed to feel bad I guess. Also I think it's better if you stop assuming things before you get to know the truth".

Mia : "Come again?".

Mom : "Tsk. Who said I didn't try to wake you up? I literally came in and checked up on you every 15 minutes yesterday but you wouldn't budge , so I gave up on trying to wake you up".

Mia : "Yeah but you could have atleast pushed me off of my bed or bring my alarm close to my ear. Better even , you could have dumped a bucket of water".

Mom : *glaring*

Mia : "Or just don't. It. Was. My...fault. I should have kept continuous alarms that rings. Every. 15 mins. But..I didn't. So yeah I will try to do that from now on".

Mom : "Then good for you. Just don't be like this at college too".

Mia : "I'm nowhere near graduating".

Mom : "I'm just saying. And come down stairs quickly. Breakfast is ready. Eat it while it's freshly made and HOT".

Mia : *sniffs* "Are you making BACON AND EGGS?".

*Mia's Mom leaves*

Mia : "Yep. It's definitely BACON and EGGS. I better go down stairs if I want a bite of it".

You see bacon and eggs is a rare combo for breakfast. Whenever Mom makes them , the kitchen counter is a battle ground. Even Dad joins in. So did Myles...

Mia : "OKAY where's my plate of grub?".

Maddie : "..........".

Dad : ".......".

Mia : "Don't tell me you both already gobbled down breakfast including MINE".

Maddie : "Well we just thought that since you skipped dinner yesterday , you might as well skip breakfast".

Dad : "Yes exactly what she said. You would have had your breakfast and dinner before your eyes if you took an exact 1-2 hour nap instead of sleeping like a log".

Mia : "So you guys are for real? So no FOOD for me? Am I just going to starve today?".

Maddie & Dad : "YES-".

Mom : "DONT be ridiculous. There's plenty of food for everyone and NOBODY'S starving under MY watch".

Mia : *giggles* "Look Maddie , Mom's on MY side".

Maddie : "First of all , she just said that there's plenty of food so that doesn't really make her on YOUR side. Second of all....Do I look like I CARE?".

Mia : *mocking* "Do I lOoK LiKe I cAre? Shut uup".

Maddie : *rolls eyes*

Mom : "Now now girls. No bickering at the table. These are supposed to be the moments where families have fun TALKING and CHATTING together. Not be at each others throat".

Dad : "Listen to your mother kids".

Mom : "Thank you , Will. So , does anyone have anything they want to share?".

Maddie : "..........no?".

Mia : "No Mom not really".

Mom : "Nobody? Not even you Will?".

Dad : "I got nothin". *flicks newspaper*

Mom : "Seriously? Nothing new is going on in your lives?".

Mia : *inner voice* "Something kinda did happen but I don't think I can say it out loud and I dont think I'm supposed to anyways....".

Maddie : "Um....I gotta go to my first soccer practice today so there's that...".

Mom : "WAIT TODAY'S YOUR FIRST SOCCER PRACTICE? IS IT THAT SATURDAY ALREADY??".

Maddie : "Uh yeah. I literally told you about this yesterday night at dinner. I thought you heard".

Mom : "Wait , YOU did? Mia , atleast YOU could have reminded me that". *rushing*

Mia : "But I wasn't even there at dinner yesterday. I SKIPPED. Remember?".

Maddie : "So much for family communication".

Mom : "Maddie go get ready. We are running late.....Shoot I got an urgent meeting at the office today and it's really important for my promotion. Will , can you drop Maddie off at the practice field near her school?".

Dad : "Sure I just gotta get my- *phone ringing* Hello? WHAT? Alright I'm coming. Give me 10 minutes".

Mom : "What is it?".

Dad : "I can't drop her off. There's a fire at the retirement home in the city. I have to get to the fire station in 10 minutes".

Mom : "Really..... WHO'S gonna take Maddie to the practice then".

Mia : "Isn't she old enough to go by herself?".

Maddie : "No I'm not...".

Mia : "You can. Starting today".

Mom : "MIA , I WANT YOU TO TAKE MADDIE TO THE PRACTICE".

Mia & Maddie : "WHAT? NO!".

Maddie : "Mom really? Can't YOU just drop me off instead?".

Mia : "Yeah , I don't think dropping a kid off at the practice field would take much time".

Mom : "It won't but this promotion is huge. Besides you are sitting here jobless on a Saturday morning. I'm not saying that you should find a part-time job or something but WHAT better way to spend your day outside and have some fun instead. WITH YOUR SISTER. And I won't be taking a 'NO' for an answer".

Mia : *whining* "But...".

Mom : "No 'BUTS'. Go on with it. No time to spare".

Mia : "Fiine. Maddie , you ready?".

Maddie : "Obviously. Lets head out".

Mia : "Alright. Bye Folks. Do your jobs BETTER THAN BEFORE".

*front-door clicks*

*at the bus stop*

Mia : "You scared or something?".

Maddie : "No. I'm totally fine".

Mia : "Is that so? Then explain why you are sweating profusely and why your hands are shaking".

Maddie : "Fine. I'll admit it. I'm quite nervous. It's my first day there so I want to make the best impression of myself. I don't want people picking on me again in middle school".

Mia : "Basically you agreed to this whole extra curricular soccer practice so that you can seem cool and thus you won't get picked on again. Correct?".

Maddie : ".......yeah. They make fun of me for my puffy eyes and being tired the whole day. Or as they call it 'WEAK'. Sometimes people gotta learn how to respect other people".

Mia : "Wait , did you say 'puffy eyes and being tire-".

Maddie : "THE BUS'S HERE".

*on the bus*

Mia : "You have been crying late at night ,  haven't you?".

Maddie : "......."

Mia : "It's ok. I do- DID too".

Maddie : "You don't cry nowadays? But yesterday I heard you crying in the living room with mom next to you".

Mia : "You did?".

Maddie : "I live there too you know. You are not the only one left....".

Mia : *sigh* "Yeah..I try not cry much these days. If I do. I question myself for crying. Because I think it's time we move on. We shouldn't let things hold us back in one place. We should break through that tight grasp you know. Thats life apparently".

Maddie : "It's not like I'm stupid and don't know that already. I just can't seem to make myself do that. It's like forcing yourself to forget someone...or something from your life as if it never existed".

Mia : "Oh I know. I know. It's never easy. Deaths of the people we cherish are supposed to hold us back. Most of them contain a moral or purpose. Some are just unfortunate deaths. It depends on your life situations. Sometimes we feel nothing. We feel fine. And the other times we feel broken or empty. But it doesn't always takes a 'death' to make us feel that way tho. It's just the way our minds work. Sometimes we might be able to change it other-times it stays the very same".

Maddie : "Like us. Our family. Even our parents. I saw Mom crying silently yesterday. It was like she was fighting her emotions".

Mia : "Well we just gotta learn to accept the fact that this right here is life...".

Maddie : "Oh we're here!".

*got off the bus*

Maddie : "Those kids seem really professional"

Mia : "It's ALRIGHT. GO show em who's boss. Fistbump?

Maddie : "I'll give you one just this once. *sigh* Fistbump".

Mia : "I guess now I wait.....for 2 hours. Hah waiting. My favourite thing to do out of all the things I could have done by now which includes sleeping , reading , watch some TV and.... sleeping a bit more and repeat".

On Saturdays I either sleep , read or watch TV. On Sundays I have Basketball practice. So there goes my precious time. That day was going very smoothly. Until I felt like someone was watching me and it was the fourth time that week.

*2 hours later*

Mia : *inner voice* "Is it just me or is that dude wearing all black staring at me. Probably because *I look cool as f*ck* sitting here with my legs crossed. Maybe it's a good idea to not get delusional over everything".

*the guy examines Mia*

Mia : *inner voice* "Okay now he is totally watching me. Or more like examining me. Has it been 2 hours already. I'm feeling real uncomfortable sitting here".

*Maddie runs over to Mia*

Maddie : "Practice is over. Lets go home now".

Mia : "Hey is that guy over there any of your 'practice mates' parent?".

Maddie : "The one in all-black? No I don't think so. Wait a minute. I have seen him outside of my school twice this week. He stands around at the most random places around school. And I have never seen him before and he doesn't pick anyone up from school either. That guy is definitely suspicious. Should we report him?".

Mia : "I don't think we need to call trouble over to ourselves. Lets just go home".

*walks to the bus stop*

Maddie : *whispers* "Hey it's that guy again".

Mia : *turns* "It is. But let's just be calm. What if he's not actually watching us. Maybe he's minding his own business".

*bus arrives*

Mia : "Phew , the bus is here. Lets not wait here any longer".

Maddie : "Uh...HE'S GETTING ON THIS BUS AS WELL. SHOULD WE DO SOMETHING?".

Mia : "But what if he's dangerous or worse what if he's armed?".

Maddie : "Can you not? I'm already scared".

Mia : "We'll be fine Maddie".

*bus stops*

Mia : "We're here. We gotta walk fast. Kay?".

*gets off of the bus*

Mia : "Is he still following us? Can you see his reflection through this glass?".

Maddie : "I don't think he got off the bus".

Mia : "Thats a relief".

Maddie : "WAIT NO. HE'S STILL FOLLOWING US. WHAT DO WE DO?".

Mia : "Lets calmly walk home. Pick up your pace tho. Just don't run".

Maddie : "Fine. But *you are definitely responsible for my death and yours if he k*lls us*".

Mia : "This is not the time Maddie. Is he behind us? Try to see if he is picking up his pace".

*the guy suddenly picks up his pace*

Maddie : "YES HE IS. SH*T SH*T SH*T".

Mia : "Stop swearing.......F*CK THIS LETS RUN".

*both of them starts running*

*the guy starts chasing after them*

Maddie : "Uh...Mia....HE'S CHASING US".

Mia : "Don't look back. Just run straight ahead. We'll reach our home in no time".

*reaches home*

Mia : "DAMN IT. WHERE'S THE HOUSE KEY?".

Maddie : "Here I found it. Open it quickly".

*front door clicks*

Maddie : "OH MAH GAWD".

Mia : "That was quite the run. WATER. I NEED. WATER".

Maddie : "So NOW do you think we should report him?".

Mia : "Wait no don't!".

Maddie : "WHAT DO YOU MEAN 'DONT'. THAT BASTARD MADE ME RUN WHEN I WAS ALREADY TIRED FROM PRACTICE".

Mia : "Is that why you want to badly report him? Just cuz he made you RUN?".

Maddie : "Yes ...No...Idk. I'm just scared. Sort of".

Mia : "Well lets just be prepared next time. If we see him again. We WILL report. And uh...don't mention this to Mom and Dad. Not yet".

Maddie : "Why not. They need to know".

Mia : "Can you LISTEN to me? ATLEAST ONCE?".

Maddie : "Fine FINE. I won't say anything. Dont get your rage on. But can I know why you're forbidding me from telling them?".

Mia : "THANK YOU and NO YOU CANT KNOW THE REASON".

Maddie : "Was worth a try...".

*later that evening*

Mia : "-0067. Lets give it a call".

*phone dials*

Unknown : "Hello?"

Mia : "I'm IN...".

Wow. Today's chapter is quite long. I didn't expect it to be this long lmaoo

I could have made one other chapter as well with this chapter but it would be boring.

Today's update was supposed to show the Sisters bond with each other and some philosophy I had left in me. I myself didn't know I could write things about life like tht. I'm sorry if someone disagrees with what I said about it but I'm no wise guy so that was just MY interpretation on life. So no hard feelings.

This episode had alot of 'action' scene. Not the fight kind. The verbal action scene. Literally. At the bus stop. Gets on the bus. Gets off the bus. At the bus stop again. Gets on the bus. Gets off the bus and DASH DASH RUUN.

Lol I had fun writing this chapter. It's hard showing emotions through writings. So big props to actual writers. Y'all are talented. Keep it that way...😳🤝😩🤚🏼✨❤️
