Calvin hesitated when Bryce came to beg him to return to the army. Now his mind was filled with scenes of wars, featuring countless weapons, soldiers, and dead bodies.

But the people around him kept talking and distracted his attention, which upset him a lot.

Everyone fell silent when hearing Calvin's words.

They always blamed him for being a useless coward and never expected him to talk back! Therefore, what he said today shocked them.

Moreover, Calvin didn't show respect for them at all!

"What did you say? How dare you speak to us in that way?" Aniyah exploded with anger.

"Perhaps he's just ignorant about the Starling Group and said such arrogant words."

"Let me tell you, as the most influential enterprise in Norley, the Starling Group is worth more than 17 billion dollars. Any family can immediately gain success if they're associated with the group!

"A vast majority of families have to bow down to it because it is considered the king in Norley's business community!"

"Why are you talking so much to the trash? He stays at home every day without working and can't understand what you said at all. Do you think he knows anything about business?"

Calvin paid no attention to these sarcastic comments. He knew that as long as he returned to the army, the entire city would be nothing to him, let alone a small group!

Suddenly, a burly man, dressed in a military uniform, rushed in anxiously with a fierce look!

Everyone present, except Calvin, was shocked.

This man was Bryce, who had previously implored Calvin to return to the army.

"General, the enemy troops have been approaching and the Western Region is now in danger! The Marshal has promised that he'll meet all your requests as long as you resume your post. Please go back with me!"

Bryce ignored everyone's gazes, got down on one knee before Calvin, and begged him with a worried look.

Everyone was stunned to see this and could not believe what happened in front of their eyes!

Calvin slowly stood up as they looked at him in surprise. He placed his hands behind his back, seeming to be a totally different person with an imposing aura.

He then questioned in a resonant voice, "There are so many capable fighters in Gloriland. Can't you find someone else to fight against the enemy army?"

Hearing this, Bryce broke out in a cold sweat. He thought to himself, "You obviously know the answer. How could the Marshal send me all the way here to take you back if there is someone who's as powerful as you?"

But he didn't dare to say those words to Calvin.

"General, you're good at military strategies and nobody in the army dare challenge your authority. If you come back and lead the army again, the enemy troops will definitely give up their attacks and retreat!" Bryce said loudly.

Hearing what he said, everyone was dumbfounded.

"Go back now. I need some time to think about it. Let's discuss it later!" Calvin thought it was inappropriate to talk about state affairs with so many people around and let Bryce leave.

"General, you are really important to the country. You have to help us!" Bryce continued to persuade after seeing that Calvin was still hesitating.

When Calvin refused his request on the street, Bryce immediately reported it to the leaders.

However, the leaders gave the order that Bryce must take Calvin back at all costs, which meant he should do whatever he could to satisfy all the requests Calvin had!

Otherwise, Bryce would be killed.

The news freaked Bryce out, so he quickly rushed here after knowing that Calvin went to Flynn's house.

But it looked like Calvin hadn't changed his mind yet, which worried Bryce so much.

"Enough! Can you stop asking me the question again and again? I've said we'll talk about it later! Don't you understand? Get out of here!" Calvin was angry with Bryce for exposing the confidential information to so many people.

"Yes!" Bryce did not dare to say anything more and quickly left.

After that, everyone was stupefied in silence.
