I Want Them to Be Safe

I pointed at the black suit with my index finger.

"I chose this black suit." 

Lin gave the black suit to me. I changed clothes in front of Lin without saying anything because we are both women.

"Now please go back to where you came from."

Lin snapped her fingers and I'm back in the safe zone, but it's already morning. When I looked back, I was very surprised because the people I had killed even the police officer came back alive, but they were all wearing the same white clothes. 

"Oh, you are all still alive." 

I think if you die in the tutorial zone, then you really die, but their faces look terrified when they see me. They retreated as far as they could without a word. 

[The first event has started] 

- A bunch of monsters will appear, defeat them and survive. If you can do it, you will get a reward, and if you can't do it, you will get a punishment. 

I don't know it meant what kind of monster, but it would be dangerous if I faced them alone without knowing anything about them. Then what about those people? They definitely don't want to help me.

"Hey you all!" 

Everyone was getting scared, and some of them covered their heads with their hands. Am I being too cruel to them? 

"I will not kill you all. I just did the previous thing because I still want to survive, that's all." 

A girl whom I cut off her head for the first time got up and came forward. She looked so scared and her body didn't stop shaking. 

"Ar-are you really not going to kill us?"  

I approached the little girl and crouched in front of her. I stroked her long black hair to calm her down. 

"Ohh... Little girl, why did I have to do that? If I wanted to, wouldn't I have done it earlier?" 

The little girl had a very frightened look on her face. The people behind this little girl looked even more frightened. 

"Whatever. What's important now is that you all have to defeat a bunch of monsters that will appear or you all will get punished."

The man I previously mistook for was Jin ventured forward. He looked confidently at me, even though his legs kept shaking. 

"What do you mean by a bunch of monsters? Aren't you the only monster here?"

I think everyone can see the screen message like me.

"Haven't you all seen the message screen?" 

He looks really confused by what I just said.

"We've looked at it and the message that pops up is that we're not eligible to take part in the event." 

I was surprised by what he said.

"H-huh? So, the people in white is-"

[A bunch of monsters have appeared] 

I heard some very loud bangs. The buildings that initially only cracked collapsed. The people in front of me seemed just silent and surrendered to what would happen to them. 

"Look over there! What kind of creature is that?!" 

A man among the people shouted while pointing behind me. I looked back and saw some strange creatures that were probably the monsters it meant them to be. 

"You all stay here. I will defeat them alone." 

I ran towards the monsters and tried to chop off their heads. When I did, their heads couldn't be cut off and their necks felt really hard to slash. 

Unable to decapitate them, I tried to attack their vitals. I slashed their eyes one by one first. A lot of black blood was coming out of them. The rest I just need to pierce their hearts one by one. 

[You have defeated a goblin, you get 10 event points]

[You have defeated a goblin, you get 10 event points] 

...

Too many screen messages popped up, and I ignored them. I continuously slashed the eyes of the monsters in front of me, then pierced their hearts. 

[You have killed all goblins in area JP-S162] 

"Is this over? I think it will be more than this." 

Alan appeared out of nowhere and stood in front of me.

"Hey you bastard, why did you kill all those goblins so easily? You're making this look too easy." 

Alan looked furious and kept on nagging non-stop. I don't really care about his nagging because it's completely useless. 

"Ahh... Whatever, take this as a first event completion reward." 

[You ranked first in the first event]  

- You can select an area to be a safe area. 

"Only that? I think I'll use this for those people as an apology." 

I feel like I should apologize to those people because my grandfather always taught me something like that.

"It's up to you what you want to use the gift for. What a strange woman." 

Alan disappeared once again. I walked back to where the people were. They looked thrilled and amazed at what I had done, even though they were afraid of me before. 

"Listen to me, from now on this area is a safe area, so you don't have to be afraid of monsters as long as you are in this area." 

[Safe area has been selected] 

- People who are in a safe area will not be attacked by monsters and wound recovery is increased. 

A transparent dome appears that covers the entire area of the safe zone. Everyone looks amazed by the appearance of the dome. 

"Takahashi Rei! Takahashi Rei! Takahashi Rei!"

They all shouted my name loudly, with happy faces. They were too noisy to make me worried if a bunch of monsters heard them and came here. But this isn't too bad either.
