Gene Type Yap

Hi! My name is Gene Type Yap. I was born with just an ordinary spoon in a little town called Nozomi, which means hope in Japanese. Our country was colonized by Japanese so that’s how our province’s name started. Star Haye Yap is my sister’s name. She was still in her studies. She took up BS Psychology. She’s in her forth year now.

My family is just an ordinary family I must say. My dad is a business man and my mom is a private school teacher. Dad, Crizostomo, owns a little share because of his hard work in a huge company. The Skyler Group of companies. This company is a bigtime distributor of high class jewelries which was exported to other part of the world. It was owned by the late John Jay Chu. Si Mr.Chu na siguro ang pinakamabait na taong nakilala ko. He is a man of few words pero yung mga gawa nya ang nag susumigaw. I heard it was under new management, but I’m not sure. A certain Skyler Tharn Chu. A son of Mr. Chu perhaps, cause the name of the company speaks for itself. Enough about them. Let’s talk about me, I graduated culinary arts in a private college because of the scholarship I acquired in my dad’s company. They help those who are in need so no wonder why this company booms a lot. Up to this day they still distributed jewelries but they expanded on making furnitures, such as glass pots, ceramic sculptures, etc.

Now, mayroon na akong isang restaurant dito sa amin tapos may dalawang branch narin akong napatayo sa iba pang lugar. I am happy of what I’ve become. Every event ng kompanya nila daddy, I was their top pick. I don’t know, nasarapan lang siguro ang may ari kasi everytime, when I say everytime, I mean it kasi halos nalang kahit pa nga burol ng relatives nila I was the one who do all the cooking kahit di na dapat ako ang gagawa non kasi my mga tauhan ako. Oh! Did I mention I have a girlfriend Taylor Gomez. She is a top model in Milan. But she had a lot of project here in the Philippines so she can fly her way back and forth. We’ve been together for almost a year but no one knows my relationship with her except for her manager and my sister Star. Ayaw kasi niyang malaman ng mga fans niya na she’s dating a mere chef. Ewan ko ba kung bakit minahal ko siya. Malaki ang naitulong ni Taylor sa akin. She introduced me to a renowned chef in Hollywood, that meeting with a famous person is my key to enter this industry. She’s in France now doing some photoshoot for the cover of the magazine.

(Ring, ring, ring.)

He looked at the phone register to know who’s calling him. It’s just a number so he answered it.

“Hello? This is Gene speaking!”

“Hi! This is from Skyler GOC. Is your father there? With you?” sagot ng nasa kabilang linya.

“No! I’m here at the grocery store to pick something for the resto. Is there a problem?”

“No not really, I am just wondering where he could be at…….. oh he’s here. Thanks again.”

“No worries!”

Akala ko talaga kung sino. Bakit ba nalate si papa eh di na man sya ganon. He’s always a man of time kasi naman everytime may event kaming pamilya na dadaluhan he always pushes us to hurry.

Last thing I put on the cart are the carrots and lettuce. I hurried back to the counter. It’s still early for me but I want to unwind first. Gusto kong uminom ng kape so after I put all the groceries down sa sasakyan. Pumunta ako sa nearest Starbucks shop. I ordered a café latte frappuccino, my favorite. Binilhan ko na rin si Star ng kanya, knowing her she would give me an earful kung di ko sya bibigyan, I ordered espresso café for her and a creamer. After getting my order nagpasya akong pumunta sa bahay muna para mabigay kay Star yung kape nya.
