The next morning. She looked like a dead person because, in the end, she wasn't able to sleep. She went out to buy some breakfast because she hadn't gone grocery shopping yet. After breakfast, she looked around inside and outside the campus.
"Tsk….. Sigh, I can't believe I got lost. There are too many buildings… and they all look alike"
She visited the dorm buildings, the courts, training grounds, gym, mall, the school campus, and more. She decided to go back to the dorm after looking around because it's getting dark.
"It feels like I'm in a hotel. They don't have dorm keys, they only have cards. Wow, girl you rich?" she said in a sarcastic way.
Beep. She opened the door and saw someone.
Oh god…. There are 2 of them. What should I say? Should I say hi? But I don't want to get too friendly with them. I'm an introvert. But ignoring them would be rude.
"Ahh...hi?"
"Oh hello we're your dorm mates"
Girl, I know that, it's obvious….If you're not then what the hell are you doing inside? sigh.
Angel smiled a little tiny bit so that she wouldn't look rude.
"Mhmm"
They started to introduce themselves as soon as they saw each other.
"Mia Bautista, 13 years old, grade 7, swimming."
"Bea Aguilar, 13 years old, grade 7, golf."
"Angel, Angel Cruz, 12 years old, seventh-grader, volleyball." she then reached out her hand.
Both Mia and Bea were shocked by Angel’s age as they shake hands.
“You must be a minimalist” said Bea.
“Yeah, it looks way more pleasing to the eye”
“Is your favorite color black? asked Mia.
“Is it..that obvious?”
“..You’re literally wearing all black, but you really have a good taste in fashion I like it,” said Mia as she smiled wholeheartedly.
“Um if it’s okay with you guys how about getting to know each other?” asked Bea.
Oh no….
“Yeah sure”
“....k?”
Ahhh, save me….
After talking for an hour they learned that Angel is actually an introvert and that she looks snobbish or mean but she’s actually pretty kind. Angel also told them that when she would tilt her head to her right really fast and aggressive as if she’s gonna make her neck crack, that means that she’s getting irritated, annoyed, or starting to get angry and that she would smile if she’s really really angry, it depends on the situation.
“Oh Angel I forgot but are you a part of the philippine team?” asked Mia.
“Huh? Yeah, why?”
Both Mia and Bea were shocked by what she said because Angel is the only student in PHSS or Philippine high school for sports that’s ever managed to join the nationals team.
“So you’re the student who managed to get into the national team.” said Bea as she smiled towards Angel.
“??What do you mean aren’t you guys a part of the national team too?”
“No, we’re just athletes who are still being trained to be a part of the national team. But you, you managed to be a part of the team, at such a young age.” said Mia.
“What?”
“You’re a part of the Philippine volleyball team, right? asked Bea.
“Yeah. why?”
“Dude your the only person in PHSS who’s already part of a national team. It means that you’re talent is on par with the professionals that’s why they took you in the team.” said Bea.
“.....”
“Come to think of it they said that students name was Angel and your name is Angel, and we’re Angel’s dormmates. Gasp” said Mia as she analyzed the situation.
Angel was petrified as both Bea and Mia get excited over the fact that they’re living with Angel.
The next day, their first day of school.
“You’re not a fan of backpacks, aren’t you?” asked Bea.
“I prefer shoulder bags.”
“Well good thing it’s not black hahaha….” said Mia.
PS: They each have lockers in their classroom so they don’t need to carry their books unless they need to bring them to the dorm for review, assignments purposes, etc...
“We only have one section right?” asked Mia.
“Yeah since it’s still new” Bea replied.
“Good thing we didn’t get lost ” said Mia.
“Hahaha yeah” said Bea.
“Let’s drop our things at the classroom first and head to the quadrangle for the flag ceremony and announcements.”
“You really don’t talk that much..” said Bea as she smile towards Angel.
After the announcements and flag ceremony the students go to their respective classrooms. They’re allowed to pick their own seats so Angel decided to seat at the very back of the room. Bea and Mia decided to seat next to her.
“It’s better if we sit here, right? Since you don’t like being around people.” said Bea.
“Don’t worry we won’t be loud and you can just mind your own business. We’ll be your bodyguard if anyone tries to make you feel uncomfortable” said Mia as she smiles at Angel.
Mia and Bea both said, “I’ve always wanted to have a little sister” they looked at each other with their eyes sparkling as a sign of agreement.
They later on introduced their selves in class. They’re 48 students overall in the grade 7 batch.
When it’s Angel’s turn, she went in front of the class to introduce herself.
Ugh, what a nightmare. She tilted her head really fast and aggressively as she snap her neck. In other terms, it’s too troublesome for her to introduce herself to the whole class.
Mia and Bea were both amazed by how cute and pretty she is even when she’s starting to get irritated.
“Angel Cruz, 12 years old, born on December 1, volleyball athlete” said Angel with her usual expression.
“....” Everyone was in awe by her beauty and the look in her eyes.
PS: Her expression is always the same. She looks calm, uninterested, and just minding her own business. Her eyes are always so lazy and lifeless. But there’s something in her eyes that can make someone look at her, something that you can’t see in someone else’s. …..It’s really hard to explain I’m sorry.
“Ah...Is that it?” the teacher asked.
Angel nods her head.
“Wait….Angel? The person who managed to join the national team was Angel too, right” said one of her classmates.
“Ah! Class, the person you’re talking about is her. She’s already a part of the Philippines volleyball team.” said their teacher.
Can I please go back to my seat now?
“Wow she must be really good, not to mention at such a young age, not even the tenth graders managed to get in.” said her other classmate.
Since it’s their first day they didn’t start with the lessons, instead they talked and learned more about each other. As expected, Angel didn’t socialize much with them but she responds if she’s being asked by someone but she only used a minimal amount of words. So based on that, her classmates got an idea about her personality being introverted and quiet.
After class.
“Yay finally, lunch!” said Bea.
“Hahaha a lot of them were so eager to get to know you but all you did was nod and shake your head. They didn’t even get to hear you say a sentence.” said Mia.
“Mhmm”
“I bet you’re excited to meet with the team.
…..on second thought, that’s not like you at all.”
“Bea, I think she’s just gonna be her usual self...with her usual expression. But you should smile a bit so that they won’t get the wrong idea about you.”
Mia nods her head. “You didn’t smile earlier so they almost got the wrong idea about you.”
“????....I smiled a little bit earlier, what do you mean?”
“.....ahhhh Then…..just smile a little bit more..?”
“You should eat faster we only have 30 minutes to eat and another to minutes to prepare. We need to go back to the dorm and get ready.” said Angel.
“....WOWWW”
“!!!!!” Mia was shocked then smacked Bea’s head because she thought that Angel would be weirded out by Bea’s reaction.
“How did you eat so fast...like your food was twice as ours and you’re already finished?”
“She’s a glutton”
Angel just stared at Mia and Mia became flustered because Angel kept looking at her.
After they ate lunch, they head to their dorm and got ready for their training.
“Ugh, You guys are soo lucky, the volleyball court and the swimming stadium are not that far while the golfing area is too far like literally way too far.”
“Good luck” said Angel.
