A Kiss

"You know Ryan Fredrick?"

"Just a coincidence," I replied.

After our shift was over, Nonilo offered to give me a ride. He took me on his motorbike. The wind was blowing hard, even though I was wearing a helmet, my hair still danced in the direction of the wind.

"Are you cold?" Asked Nonilo glancing in the rearview mirror.

I shook my head, "No. You've already lent me your jacket. How could I be cold," I said. Nonilo chuckled. I think he deliberately took me home with him to ask about Devano this afternoon. But apparently not, he just kept quiet and told about his two twin sisters who were so naughty at home.

"You don't want to ask me about Devano again?" I asked, and tightened my grip on the hem of his clothes.

"You want me to ask about that?"

"No," I answered spontaneously.

He stopped his motorbike at a red light. He turned back to look at me, "I'll wait for you when you're ready to talk." He smiled with a warm smile, and the light of the lamp shone on that smile just right, so I could see his handsome face clearly.

"When you're ready to talk, I'll listen to you."

A few minutes later, we arrived at my house. We were both surprised when we saw a man leaning against his car door, standing with his back to us. "Who is that?" Nonilo asked in a slightly louder voice for the young man to hear. The man turned around. I immediately got off Nonilo's motorbike when I found out who it was. Who else if not Devano.

"Devano?" Called me while taking off the helmet and giving it to Nonilo. "Why are you here?" I asked surprised.

"Can I not be here?" he asked.

When he noticed Nonilo beside me, he suddenly glared at Nonilo. I glanced at Nonilo who seemed a little surprised by the look in Devano's eyes. But suddenly he gave a lopsided smile, and immediately grabbed my hand, making my body move closer to him. My eyes widened in surprise when his supple lips touched my cheek, he kissed me on the cheek but was very close to my lips.

"No-Nonilo?" I whispered in shock. He let go of my hand and suddenly I touched my cheek which became the former kiss. "You owe me don't forget!!" Nonilo smiled sweetly at me and immediately left me with Devano. I'm still processing that kiss just now. Not a kiss from lips to lips, but just a light peck on my cheek which is close to my lips.

"Why did he kiss you?"

"Huh? I- i don't know," I said awkwardly. I could feel my cheeks heating up with embarrassment, I'm sure by now, my face was as red as a boiled crab.

"Alice." I turned to Devano who called my name. I tilted my head, then signaled 'what' through my chin. "One more week, one of my friends will get married. Accompany me to come to his wedding." He took out a piece of paper from his coat pocket.

“Here is the invitation.” He handed me the invitation letting me clearly see the invitation which was plated with pure gold and silver.

"Hold my bag for a second."

I threw my bag into Devano's chest and made him gasp in tightness. I immediately pulled the zipper in front of my bag, took out the same piece of paper as Devano showed me earlier. "Ryan, right?" I asked enthusiastically. Devano saw the invitation I showed him, and read the two names written there.

"Yes Ryan Frederick and Seira Reika. How did you get this invitation too??" Devano asked surprised.

"Seira is my friend and my boss at where I work, so I got this invitation," I explained and was given a nod by Devano.

When Nonilo asked me to go home with him. Seira suddenly shouted our names, she ran while carrying 2 invitations, and asked us to come to her wedding.

"So you can come there with me?" Devano repeated his question which I had not answered earlier, he asked if I could come with him to Ryan and Seira's wedding. I hesitate to say yes to him.

"Would you like to go out with that man?" he asked.

"That boy? Ahhh, you mean the guy from earlier? His name is Nonilo, he's-"

"I didn't ask his name. I asked if you wanted to go out with him or not?" He cut me off before I could finish my sentence. He didn't take his eyes off the other side, but his eyes stared straight at me, as if he was looking for an answer to his question.

"No. Nonilo is going with his twins."

"Then let's go there together."

I bit my lower lip, looking for an excuse to refuse his invitation without making him angry. "I'm not coming. I don't have a nice formal dress like you guys. You'll be embarrassed if you come there with me," I refused and immediately left him in front of the fence.

"What time are you coming home from work tomorrow?" He asked.

"During Seira's wedding preparations, the cafe was closed. So I took a day off," I said.

"Tomorrow morning, I'll be here. You get ready, we're going somewhere."

After he said that, Devano immediately got into his car, and drove fast. I didn't have time to ask where he was going and he was gone.

"Tomorrow?? Where is he taking me to?"
