...My family lived pretty well off when I was a little kid, growing up in a three-bedroom in Northern China. Dad owned lots of cars. We really had a lot of nice things. However, after 35+ years at his company, everything were changed. I watched my parents go through bankruptcy, not only once but twice. After paying everything, my parents decided to leave in China, and we started a new business and life in France. Although I knew what was happening, I couldn't leave....

...Xia Lyn 8 years old....

Xia: Mom? Dad? I don't want to leave in this country.

Xia's Mother: I'm so sorry Sweetie, but we have to move in France, and we are doing our best for you.

Xia's Dad: Sweetheart, I'm sorry.

Xia: But Dad? Mom? How about my friends? And this home?

Xia's Dad: Sweetheart, this is my final decision.

Xia: There are many houses here in China.

Xia's Mother: Sweetie, I know it's hard for you to decide, but we don't want you to be sad and anxious. Come here, Daddy and I will hug you.

Xia cried, and her parents dried her tears.

I looked into my parent's eyes, and I agreed, I also do not wanted them to be sad.

Xia's Dad: Babe, what do you think?

Xia's Mother: Honestly, I really like this country.

Her father immediately went to their new house, to surprise her wife and daughter. “Seeing them smiling, I know they are extremely happy.” Xia said to herself.

Xia's Mother: Honey, this house is so simple and perfect for us.

Xia's Dad: Babe, I want us to live happily and healthily here. Oh! Sweetheart, do you like your new home?

Her parents were seemed to be happy, but she felt blue, because she misses her home, school, and her friends.

Xia: Maybe yes? Maybe no? But . . . Daddy, I miss everything.

Xia's Dad: Sweetheart, we can make new recollections here, and your mother and I will work hard for you.

Xia: Okay Dad.

...Monday...

Xia: Mom, can I go outside?

Xia's Mother: Sweetie, but don't go far. Promise me?

Xia: Okay, I promise.

...As I walked on the dirt road,...

...The birds were singing,...

...The trees were dancing,...

...But the sky was unhappy,...

...Missing her country....

...I hate myself, I'm alone!...

...But how did I get here?...

...The longer I stay...

...I see my face,...

...In this unknown place....

...I continued strolling the dirt road, and I saw a little boy: he has a white skin, black hair, sharp nose, and black eyes. I didn't know what he was doing in the field. However, I secretly stared at him, and perhaps he was watching the cloudy sky? When he saw me, he looked into my eyes, and I knew he found me....

Xia: I'm really sorry! I really don't know that you are here! I apologize, but . . . what are you doing?

...Jeremy Matthew 8 years old....

Jeremy was shocked when he saw Xia Lyn. He said to himself. “Her eyes sparkled like diamonds. I knew that God sent her to me!”

Jeremy: Haha! It's okay, no problem. I'm watching the birds, what about you?

Xia: Ah, me?! I'm just walking here and . . . I accidentally saw you.

Jeremy: The France is beautiful, isn't it?

Xia: Yes, it's really beautiful.

Jeremy: I guess you are not from here.

Xia: Yes, but how did you know?

Jeremy: Because you are unfamiliar? But If you don't mind, can I ask you?

Xia: Sure.

Jeremy: Where are you from?

I didn't know that he will ask my country, but I found out that he is a very talkative person.

Xia: I'm from China, why?

Jeremy: Whoah! No wonder you are beautiful.

I had no idea that he is a great joker! It was my first time meeting him, but I received a huge compliment, and my heart was thumping when I heard the word “beautiful”.

Xia: Hey! I know you are kidding me.

He laughed like an angel.

Jeremy: Haha! I'm serious, but are you sad?

Xia: Hmmmm. . . . You are good at guessing. Yes, because I miss my country, friends, and especially my home.

Jeremy: It is normal to miss them, but you can start a new life. And don't be sad, make this country like your new home.

Xia: Thank you, you are so kind.

Jeremy: Oh, It's nothing.

I still don't forget the compliment that he gave, and I instantly changed the topic, because it was really embarassing!

Xia: By the way, what's your name?

Jeremy: My name is Jeremy, nice to meet you.

Xia: My name is Xia, nice to meet you too.

Jeremy: Do you want to be my friend?

Xia: Sure, we can be friends.

They talked and laughed a lot. However, they didn't noticed the time, but they say goodbye to each other.

Xia: It's already afternoon, and I know my Mom is worrying. Um, Jeremy, I'll see you again.

Jeremy: You too, good bye Xia.

Xia: Good bye.
