Chapter 5

Dove's POV

I was so happy to be there, but sad I wasn't with Lindsay. "I'll just give her a call to check on her" I said to myself dialing her number.

"Dove, you're so boring. I told you I was in good hands why do you still call me now? Even my grandma isn't so clingy" Lindsay said as she picked the call.

"But, I.... "

"No but, young girl. All I care about is tonight you're partying for two of us . "Lindsay replied cutting me short. And she dropped the call.

I then joined Daphne and her guy who had already taken their seats.

The party was so luxurious with heavily mounted diversified buffets, waiters distributing drinks, chocolate fountains and the decoration was sooo beautiful. Never had I ever attended such a party.

After the food was consumed the lights were suddenly dimmed and projectors lit the stage. We all yelled in excitement seeing who was on the stage. Our gorgeous Ashton Curtis. He looked even hotter than on TV.

I don't know if it were his perfect structure, his abs, his dimples, his hair, or his mesmerizing thick brows which gave his eyes a killer look ;or the combination of everything. But this guy was just perfection.

Ohhhh I forgot, he could kill one softly with his voice too. Talking of which he interpreted his latest song which almost hypnotized the entire hall. He held a red rose 🌹 in his hands and at the end of the song he left the stage and... Wait is he coming towards us? Omgggg he stood right in front of me and charmingly gave it to me. "For you, beauty " he said.

"Gosh" I exclaimed as the projector lights flashed on my face. I felt a mixture of excitement and anxiousness. It was flattering but honestly I felt a lil embarrassed, wondering why he gave it to me of all girls.

"Thanks " I replied still blushing and taking it, while the public gave a standing ovation to his prestation.

"slow water runs very deep" Daphne said to me teasingly after he left. " I thought you were just a boring 'Mary book' but just see how you just seduced him.

"Daphne, I said almost embarrassed which made her chuckle. I didn't do anything. They all laughed at the situation.

We ended up dancing together all night long. Daphne, her guy and I. She laughed out loud when she saw the ways I had been turning down strangers who came to me for a dance.

"You need to chill babe, not everyone is out to eat you. " She said in a teasing tone.

"I know dear, but I can't do something I don't feel comfortable with, like dancing with people I don't know ". Maybe with time ... but as for now hell no.

She shook her head in disbelief, somehow amused.

It was soon time to leave. It was a nice one, we really need to do this more often.

I stood alone around a corner While waiting for Daphne to go get the car with her guy.

She followed him every where as if afraid someone will snatch him away.

I chuckled as I remembered how they had behaved like love birds all night long.

"You didn't tell me your name", I heard as I suddenly felt a warm arm intertwining mine.
