Richard gets out off his copilot's seat. Mario will lead the apache down to streets. Just another dangerous place to rescue a metaparallel.

"Everybody! Take your ammo with you. We might get interfered down there. Stats say there might be an uniparallel assassin hiding nearby. Watch your backs!", says Richard.

Today Richard is taking a 6 personnel squad to rescue. Other days it would be 8 or so. He can feel that he's made a mistake. The danger is too much. Anyway, there's nothing to do about it. He picks up his projection gloves, the only weapon he has mastered. For over 3 years, Ric has been training with this thing. Simple as it may look, it is a weapon of mass destruction in the right guy's hands. Big guns are not good, small things you call 'fancy' are real buggers when it comes down to life or death.

The glove is actually nothing special in fact. just a silicon base material with nano-quantum electronics. It's work is to absorb the energy of the metaparticles and exert them through the quantum fluctuations. Just a take and give procedure. Nothing to interrupt the transfer, meaning no loss of power. That's complete 100% efficiency. But, It's not perpetual, yet...

He walks down the loading bay past his subordinates, watching over their preparations. Jashof is taking a material rail gun, Linda is as usual taking her fancy electromagnetic knives. Deliph has a really bad choice of things.

"Hey, we're going after an assassin! You can't kill one with a heavy rocket launcher! You'll just end up getting hurt!", yells Ric.

"Ooo...Didn't think of it.."

Little Deliph is like this always. I guess dumb people can be so hilarious that they just forget to fear. I have to watch over him, or else it's gonna be a massacre.

"Joe, what you think of today buddy?"

"As much as i wish to deny, Ric, you never change. Come on, you got a new life! Enjoy it. Why waste life in the Metaparallel Inc.?"

"I don't know. Maybe i just have nowhere to go. If i could recall at least something.."

"You want advice? Start anew. That's better."

"That's so cold hearted of you"

"I know. But the reality can be hard. Just get along with it."

"Yeah, let's just end it and call it a day, shall we? That will keep us going."

"Right on track, bro"

Ric moves to the bay door. He stands by the hatch button, lifting his fingers up to the switch. But he holds it for a moment.

"People! Listen up. I don't want to be a hero like you may do. I might as well not be a leader. But as i am now, i have no choice. I wish to live tomorrow like you do too. So let that be the reason why we move ahead of today. Are you with me??!!"

"Yeah!!!!"

(BAAM) Ric hits the switch. The bay doors slowly move down. The red lights flash and the sirens sounds grow wilder. So this is what that i want. Adrenaline! Adrenaline fueled adventure. No matter what's the cost.

Jashof swings in the ropes. Linda looks up at her detector.

"Ric, it's just a walk down the street", says Linda.

"Okay, everybody move A.S.A.P. Our first priority is the metaparallel. Get Him at all costs. And don't engage the enemy single handed. Stay together."

In minutes they all stand on the ground. The alleys reek of bad smell. people are still not aware of anything. It's best not to let them interfere. The less the civilian contingency, the better.

"Move! Now!"

Steadily they pass the alleys. Linda guides them. Ric's at the front. The street beside seems too quiet today. Not much of people passing by.

"There he is"

Ric and others get the metaparallel, that is ME. Objective completed.

"Let's move back! Be careful now. We are exposed for a lot of time. Danger is close.", says Ric.

Ric and others start moving to the rendezvous point downhill about a mile. The chopper should circle around by now. A easy day at work. Until...
