CHAPTER 4: THE UNKNOWN NUMBER

DAISY POV

We're waiting for him from past 1 hour. There's no sign of his arrival. I tried distracting Ri from all these mess going around us. Basically, i'm not a funny person and more of a serious type. Ri was the funny and cheerful type. I was trying to cheer her up, but it turned out to be more embarassing. At last she laughed lightly. And i was somewhat relieved and sighed.

We've have been keeping updates on Sam's lead every now and then.

RIYA POV

Dai tried to do something funny for distracting me... After her prolonged efforts i laughed a bit land relaxed lightly... Actually i was literally stunned by how Dai was trying hard to be funny... I know why she was doing it. She doesn't want me to be upset or distressed about anything. But to be honest even though it was a little funny it was more weird... I said," Dai you can never be funny, it seems totally weird". She glared at me and said, " How can i be friends with u dumbasses who cannot appreciate my good will and hard efforts?" she made weird faces which was totally out of her character.... but i liked it.... It was different.

After that i said," If Sam knew you called her dumbass she would kicked your a** you idiot". Then a sudden realization hit us that she was not with us and god knows where she's and how she's. The minute long efforts of Dai did not persist long as we were back to our worried and dejected selves.

'Ring Ring Ring Ring'

My phone was ringing. I took my phone and was confused seeing the caller id, it was from an unknown number. I hesitated for a moment. But i picked it up anyway thinking it could be related to Sam....

I said, "hello....."

There was no reply... I again said, " hello..." still it was silent.

"Hello..."annoyed' i raised my voice this time...

Then after 3 seconds of silence.... When i planned to hang up...

"Hahahaha...." i heard a scary laugh erupt from the other side to which my breath hitched. It was giving me shivers. It scared the crap out of me. I just hanged up the phone.

My mind was not clear and i did not what i was doing. But i did what i felt right at the heat of the moment by hanging up.

Dai was sitting beside me and she was confused at what just happened now.

She tried to inquire about it. But my phone rang interrupting her. It was again from the same unknown number.

I picked up my phone with trembling hands and gestured Dai to stay close to me....

I heard a voice from otherside saying," DARE TO HANG UP ON ME BABYGIRL?" a dangerously warning tone reverberated. I flinched at it.

He continued," babes if u dare to hang up on me again, u will be facing hella consequences.You Get that?..." the voice was calm and low as if threatening.... But i could not bring myself to answer him.

My words got stuck on my throught. I just could not speak...

He said, " ANSWER ME DAMNIT" he increased his volume sounding annoyed....

I said, "y-yess..." but it came as whisper...

Dai saw how pale i was and gestured me to put it on loudspeaker.

As i was about to..... He said, "don't u dare to put it on loudspeaker.." this time i was totally shocked and i stood up from bed not even caring about my twisted ankle. How could he know what i was about to do. I started searching if someone was present in here, out of panick.

I asked out of fear, "a..ar.e...y..ou...he...re".

He said, " calm your nerves baby, i'm not there but i can see your every move... And u look sexy today..."

Now this was getting worst. My hands started shaking...

I mustered some courage and asked, " w-who...are...you?" hoping for him not to be the person i'm assuming...

He said, "how can u forget me? I thought my gift would remind u of me" he said with a smirk....without giving me time to recover from the shock he again spoke excitingly,

" baby did u like my present? Was the bathroom to ur liking? or it should have been better.."

Literally now my whole body was shaking that i could not hold the phone anymore... The only thought was 'he was here, he was here...he did this'. I could not believe. My brain was digginng out my past memories...which was burried deep in my subconscious....

He said, " i guess my gift was not to my baby's liking....how about next time... Next time i will give u a gift with more blood..how about human blood... and dead bodies...mm..hahaha......" he laughed like a maniac..

Now i was at my limit, my hold loosened from my phone.... My whole body became stiff and i dropped it on the floor. I stepped backwards and fell on my bed....My limbs were shaking involuntarily and vigorously...

Daisy POV

Ri was at the verge of getting a panick attack.... I did not know what to do.. I just picked the phone she dropped and tried to find the details of the person on the line ,"hello..,hello".

But the other person had already hung up...i ran towards Ri.... "my god..." she was shaking horribly.

She was having a full fledged panick attack. She was hyperventilating, gasping for air... I got panicked seeing her like that.... She was panting continuously...

Her eyes became white..."no...no..no.." i called her name many times but she did not hear me.

I recalled something and quickly ran to the bathroom.Then i brought her spare medicines which we had just in case of emergencies...i gave her some sedatives and calmed her down by making soothing circles on her back... She soon calmed down... Eventually she drifted to sleep due to sedatives...

I was so worried as to who was the person she spoke with to get a panick attack.... As i was lost in my thoughts i was interrupted by the door bell....

Ding! Dong! Ding! Dong!

I rushed to the entrance and unlocked the door. It was him.... I hugged him tight and started sobbing... He was somewhat shocked by my sudden outburst... He patted my back and calmed me down...

He asked, " what happened and why the hell are u crying?"

I said in a full breath,"everythingisamessandi don'tknowwhattodo. AtfirstSamwentmissing andnowRigotapanickattackagain". He turned gloomy and said,"slow down...i can't understand fully".....

i took a deep breath and said,"everything is a mess and i don't know what to do. At first Sam went missing and now Ri got a panick attack again".
