LATE AT NIGHT...
“That old man did tell me to get drunk, but who knew this body has high alcoholic tolerance?!” I slapped myself, thinking how doomed I'm going to be today.
Certainly, the highly trained knights would be able to tell if a person is drunk or not. It must have been part of their training. There's no way they would be fooled by me.
I let out an exasperated sigh as I walked, pretending to be dizzy with a bottle of soju at hand. Purposefully, I let out my hair down and unkempt, and I placed a blush on my cheeks to make it seem like I'm drunk. After that, I washed myself with alcohol, so that I'd smell like it.
Hopefully, I'd pass through all this.
Even though I know I'm going to be doomed, it'll be better than die from a poison that almost killed me last time. Bravely, I entered the west wing's gate, and what I saw was unbelievable.
“Highly trained knights?”
I scoffed at what I just thought earlier. There's no way they're highly trained. I felt quite annoyed and insulted that I thought so highly of them, however they're like this?!
My eyes wandered off to one side, there were two knights playing checkers. They were bald and had a big belly, unfit to be a knight they call themselves so. They were laughing, and there were missing teeth. You'd think they were bandits if not for the uniform.
On the other side, there were three handsome men, but all of them were playing poker and drinking. They were too lazy to even notice my arrival.
“What the hell...?” With my forced limp body, I couldn't help but break character. If I'm supposed to be drunk, I might as well be SUPER drunk!
I rushed and screamed my lungs off at the knights laughing from the side, “You incompetent fools! What are you doing playing here, huh?”
All of them flinched at the sight of me, as if they had always expected me to become silent like a fool. I quite understand why the original Ilya would waste herself on alcohol. Who would even want these type of subordinates?!
“Ma–Ma'am!” The knight with blue hair greeted me as he panicked, making the cards fall from his hands. “You, blue hair...” I said, as I walked close to him. The next thing he saw was my hand grabbing his collar and scolding him– “You better pick up those cards!!!”
He scrambled and while Shivering, obeyed my order. The others were shaking as they met upon my enraged eyes. “What are you looking at? You fool! Why are you even a knight?!” I said, as I pointed at the bald men with a potbelly. “You look like you're going to roll if you'd be chasing a serial killer, what are you? A normal citizen? Get out of this place and never show your face to me!” I shouted, as the man I just pointed at ran away, crying.
“And you–!” I shouted at the man who was earlier beside the bald knight. He was shaking his head like crazy. I observed him carefully. He wasn't anything bad at all, except that he looked like a pushover. “If you want to remain a knight of the West Wing, you better train yourself rigorously.” I warned, as I stomped away from them.
Meanwhile, the knights that were left all fell down to their knees as they were still shaking. They simultaneously thought– “The captain has gone crazy, she's a monster!”
...
After the exhausting experience with the knights that welcomed me to the west wing, the next thing I was ordered to do was to meet with older brother, who oversees the management and training of the knights.
Indeed, the original Ilya was only named the Captain, sent to lead the wars because of her cowardly brother. However, she truly did not hold any power.
However, as I was walking through the corridor, I felt a loud ring on my ear and I collapsed. I fell to my knees, and once again, I saw a vision–
Again, it was a man with blonde hair and red eyes. He was smiling as he caressed the golden necklace he was wearing.
He turned around to open a drawer with a bottle with a tag. The tag read: “dye”. His hands were rough, proof that he has done some shady work, as a knight or maybe– as the serial killer himself.
“Ah!!” I shouted as the vision ended, and I felt my head almost exploding. “Damn it... it would be hard to know, he's dying his hair...”
I was sure of it, he was somehow aware someone was tailing him, so he had disguised himself. And... why was Saeyun a man?
Lost in my thoughts, a blinding light enveloped my eyes. It was dark on the corridor, so as Ilya's brother opened the door, it was enough to make me overwhelmed.
He was standing there, surprised of my presence. He has light blue hair, freckles, and brown eyes. Furthermore, he looked dashing, even with his unique features such as the freckles. If only he wasn't such a cowardly man.
“Good evening, brother. I came in to report–” Before I could finish my sentence, the door closed on me and was met with complete silence.
That.... THAT INSOLENT BRAT!!! That was disrespectful to an elder, such as me!! If he knew I was a 32 years old woman, he would have never dared–!
