"I will bring more for you tomorrow, will you come?" William asked her.
Julia erased her laughter tears and looked at him. She can't promise him that she will come. She is too scared to disappoint him by not showing up tomorrow, she had no idea that the past days he was disappointed because she didn't appear the past few days.
"Your Grace, I left home right now without telling anything. Even Mary does not know." She told him "actually I can't come, after tomorrow is my 18th birthday and I will finally be off age the manor is busy with that."
William knew what that meant, who doesn't know what it means when a lady reaches the age of 18 when she is finally an adult. They will marry her to someone, someone who will be the most beneficial to the family Julia will go through that too.
"Someone's birthday is supposed to be a eventful and joyful day but I guess the 18th birthday for ladies is like a nightmare approaching them by the years." He looked at her "sorry to hear that."
Julia shook her head to the left and right in refute "Your Grace," she said "please don't pity me, I will not just sit idly and watch my life drift away."
She looked up the sky saying "my father brought his old acquaintance home earlier today. He is an old man with 5 wives who are buried on their graves. None of his wives conceived a heir for many reasons so he needed a young wife and I was there."
He flinched. "Are you going to accept?" he asked worriedly.
"No way I would. I don't even wish to have children till I turn 23!" She declared. He sighed in relief. "I will either kill the old man or run away from home."
"Really?" He asked her
"Yes." she answered.
"Running away is not easy."
"I am well aware."
"So you got a plan?"
Julia did not utter a word, she has no plans at all William shook his head with a sigh.
"Listen, running away with no planning ahead is like killing yourself. You must have a place to head to with a good sum for you to survive till you get a job and stable. There are many things someone must put in head before actually running away." He told her.
"Your Grace! Young sound like someone who ran away from home!" She told him with a smile.
William looked at her then turned his head away directly diverting from the question. "Anyways, you shall plan for it or convince your parents otherwise."
"I do not plan to talk to them about my future plans." she said with a sad tone "they did not consent me about my own marriage, why should I bother telling them anything."
"After the party." She mumbled.
William can not help as she already seemed to have something in mind, whatever it is, he sincerely wish that she can accomplish it.
"I will leave with Mary at dusk to the capital, I will go see my uncle." She said. "I don't know how I will find him or how he looks like but he is the only one who can possibly help me at the moment."
"Your uncle?" William asked.
"Yes, I remember Mary told me about him as a child, what was his name?" She put her finger on her head trying to trigger her memories to remember but she couldn't remember "can't remember at the moment but I will ask Mary later. I don't have enough money to live alone for more than a month but I have to give it a try."
William liked her courage.
She is younger than him with 5 years but he is kind of embarrassed because he knows that she will pull it off for sure, because she was million times more graceful than he ever was. Built on unsure information about her uncle, clinging to a rope of hope that is standing in its last strings, he was impressed.
"I would love to help you!" He told her.
Julia freaked out "Your Grace! I can not possibly bother you!!" she told him worriedly.
"No I am serious. I wonder if there is anything for me to do in order to help you achieve your goal."
"I don't really need help but there is something I want to ask, if I am not being rude, Your Grace," she glanced at him then back at the ground hesitantly, her fingers fidgeting.
He was confused. "My Lady, you can ask me anything if you want, I can go to the mansion and bring the remaining biscuits for you if that what you want."
Julia shouted embarrassingly "not that Your Grace! Well, the biscuits were indeed tasty, I would love to try them again but what I want is not that."
Then she went back to the fidgeting and hesitation "I mean, I never attended such events before," she mumbled "if I am not being shameless, can Your Grace please dance with me just one dance."
William froze, he did not expect that to be honest. Doesn't this mean he got a chance? He smiled happily "I am a good dancer, I might visit the party so you must have the first dance with me."
Julia stood up then took off her shoes then extended her hands he looked at her in confuse. Julia grabbed his hands saying "we must train Your Grace, I am not a good dancer I will totally step on your feet during our dance."
He smiled and asked "is it why you took off your shoes, My Lady, are you afraid to hurt me?"
"Your Grace, I can't take responsibility if you broke a figure that is why I took off your shoes." she answered.
William moved to the back then slightly bowed, Julia did the same. William held her hand and waist while Julia put her other hand on his shoulder.
"There is no music but if you follow my lead you will not make mistakes." William whispered in her ears.
Julia smiled then they started dancing together. Julia made many mistakes but William covered it perfectly, even with no music he seemed to her that he is just maybe danced with multiple ladies before, that made her a bit upset but right now William only looking at her and they are here together there is no other girls there is no one to stop them. A precious moment for both of them.
