SHE WENT MISSING

The man was on the television screen was a lot different

from what she had seen in her vision. Then too she recognized that sly smiling

face very clearly. A guy who can betray his friends was nothing to be admired.

April didn’t know why she was so against him. Her visions saw her very limited

information, on the basis of that she never judged the situation or any person

usually. She had seen him for only for a short while yet she was so prejudice against

him. Something was wrong with that guy it was a gut feeling. She hated that

smug face which was smiling so charmingly. It was as if her guts screamed, die

you bastard! What rights do you have to be this happy?

She was shocked at her own emotions. Why is she feeling

this stinging pain in her heart? She felt like crying her heart out, but why. Unwillingly

a lone tear dropped from her left eye. She felt so sad her heart felt like it

was breaking into pieces and crumbles. As she was to give in to her feelings of

despair and sadness she closed her eyes and remembered who she is. She separated

herself from the unknown grief and asked” what was his name again?”

Rowan was irritated as he said” My dear sis, it is too unhealthy

for you to be this ignorant! He is not only rich and famous but also the

biggest donator for our city development.”

April was shocked to hear it as she really was ignorant about

many worldly aspects. Yet she badly wanted to confirm if it was who she thought

he was. It wasn’t that she was unsure but she badly wanted to reassure herself.

She knew that Rowan won’t answer her questions if she was against his idol so

she reluctantly gave up the  hostility

from her tone which she had earlier without even her realizing it. She then

softened her tone and asked like she was genuinely impressed” Is that so? He really

is that impressive? Tell me his name I want to search him on Doodle ( instead

of Google).”

“ I know everything about him let me tell you, he is

already 50 up, amazing right he looks so fit and young you didn’t think that he

is so old right! He probably looks like he is only 30. And you know how he is

famous for his tricky kicks on the fields, and you know ………”

Rowan went on and on about his idol, she definitely didn’t

need to Doodle it and she can’t because he blabbered everything other than his

name. April was hardly holding back her anger but she was still smiling at Rowan,

her expressions didn’t reveal anything of what she was feeling. In Rowan’s eye’s

she looked attentive and curious.

Finally April can’t hold it back anymore so she went

with who she thought he was and said” He is Finn right?”

At her question Rowan nodded and said” yeah! He is the

legendry Finnick Dorald.”

April was relieved to know that she was right. But she

was still confused why the host is calling him Sami it was also written on the

tv screen. That was the reason why she was confused for this long.

Now she was sure he was the same Finn from her vision. It

was such a coincidence that she got to know him in this way when there weren’t

any other clues regarding the incident.

She still didn’t understood the different name so she

asked Rowan” But why is he called Sami? His real name wasn’t mentioned even

once on the whole interview!”

Concern can be clearly seen on her face as she probed

for any further clues.

“ I am not so sure about that either, since he left playing

football he changed his name. He was called Sami by his fans since he first

appeared on an official match and saved his team like a warrior. His name was

Finn which meant Sami the hunter who gathered food for his tribe. He went

popular with this name so maybe when he left the field because of his injury,

he wanted to carry out his football legacy in this way. In the end he legally

changed his name and made it official. So now everyone calls him Sami.”

“ oh, is that so?”

“I don’t quiet believe it though. Why would one change

his legal name? but maybe he did it out of respect for his fans.”

“Right.” April mumbled as she made a mental note to dig

deeper about him. ’Finnick Dorald what are you hiding? April contemplated in

her mind.

“Stop bugging me, the interview is about to end. I’ll

tell you later if you want to know anything later.” Rowan urged April to stop interrupting

him.

April was too focused on her thoughts so she didn’t pay

any attention to what Finnick was saying. On a closer look he looked a lot

different from before. He has changed from being a 17 years old boy to a man

who was 53. But the age didn’t make him look any uglier. He looked better than

before he still had those curly sexy hair but they were now a darker shade of

brown then before, his body frame has also changed his skinny figure was now

filled with muscles and he got some feet taller too.

She would probably be attracted towards him if not for

the vision she had seen earlier. He’s eyes were especially charming but when

she remembered the look he had in his eyes while talking about grace in her

vision she can’t help but quiver unintentionally.

She heard then Finn talking on the tv “ You are right we

should never forget the kindness that others had shown us.” Finn spoke with

ease while smiling.

At that moment April remembered his words from her

vision, ”so, should I miss my match tomorrow morning just because she helped me

in the past”( chapter-3)

What a double faced b*****d ! one day I will stripe your

hypocritical mask off of your face I swear. April said in her heart with

determination.

Looking at him was making her feel unpleasant so she

decided to leave from the living room as she knew that her stupid brother won’t

listen to her if she badmouthed his idol, and he surely won’t change the channel

on tv either. At last she sighed and left.

When she glanced at her phone to check the time it was

already 7; 45. Weird why dad isn’t home yet! He usually gets home before 7 or

he would inform them if he was running late and in case of meeting and outings

in the office.

She dialed his number and was about to call him when she

became reluctant and decided not to do so. He was always busy working in his

office and planning all the other things for her and Rowan when he was home. He

barely gets any time for himself. If she were to call him now he would come

home immediately leaving all his matters undone. It was okay if he came late

once in a while.

She then entered the kitchen with the intentions of

cooking dinner for their family of three. She checked contains in the fridge in

order to see what she can cook. In the end she decided to cook one vegetable

and one meet dish with rice.

She was not great at cooking neither she liked cooking

what she made was edible nothing less nothing more!

She cooked when she felt like it or days like today when

she needed to. As she rinsed the rice with water and was cleaning it.  Rowan walked inside the kitchen.” What are

you making?”

“ Rice with green chili and meatballs.”

“Oh, why is dad not home yet? Did he tell you why he is

late?” he said while grabbing the water bottle from the fridge.

“No, I don’t know? He didn’t tell me anything and I haven’t

called him either!” April said as she closed the lid of rice cooker.

“Let me call him” said Rowan as he fished out his phone

from his pocket.

April grabbed a knife and was about to cut chilies when

she stopped in her track because of his sentence.

“Why are you so eager for dad to come back early today?”

April was raising her eyebrows in questioning manner at him while she was

asking.

Rowan was shocked at how fast his sister can detect his

scheme. He was feeling like a thief who was caught red handed by the police. He

refused to give in “ Can’t I be just worried about him!”

 “Ahem” April pretended

to clean her throat while she was obviously disagreeing to Rowan’s statement.

At this moment he felt like his sister was a detective

interrogating a criminal and nothing can get pass her eye, so he decided to

give in.” I want to go out with my friends and I would probably back by 11; 00 so

I wanted to ask dad, but he isn’t back yet and my friends are rushing me to

come out.”

April knew her brother well, he will never worry about

dad or anything else until he wanted something from it. She frowned and asked “Whom

are you going with?”

Rowan answered sullenly “ with Ken and Alson.”

“Where ?” April gazed at him as if to verify any lies.

“  The nearby gaming

arcade.” Rowan answered truthfully.

April knew his brother’s love for games and believed

him.” Okay go! I will tell dad when he is back. Don’t disturb him.”

“Thank you, sis bye.” Rowan shouted as he rushed towards

the gate.

“Be sure to came back by 11; 00” shouted April to the

hurriedly leaving shadow of a figure. This guy was always in rush to do this

and that April thought worriedly while swinging her head and sighing.

She focused at the task in her hand and started to cook.

She was soon finished and dropped a message to her dad’ dinner is ready, take

your time no need to worry’

Then she went upstairs lied down in her bed. Soon she

drifted to sleep without realizing it as the stress and tiredness of whole day

caught up to her.

“April wake up” Jason said while waking April up.

“Dad” April mumbled half sleepily.

“Wake up sweetheart let’s eat first”

April wake up and washed her face before going down to

eat.

“Where is Rowan?” asked Jason in an unhappy tone.

“Sorry dad I forgot to inform you, he went out with Ken

and Alson. He wanted to ask you but I didn’t let him in order to not disturb

you.” April said with scared and sad tone.

Jason realized he spoke rather angrily earlier and said

in a gentle tone while consoling his daughter” Sweet heart I won’t blame you. But

it is not safe recently so I don’t want Rowan or you to go out so late at

night. Do you know that two girls went missing three days ago while they were

hanging out late in the night.”

April understood his worry and replied” I got you dad I will

not be so rash again, I only allowed to go him because he was going with Ken

and Alson and that too nearby, but I won’t allow him to go out so late again.”

As they were talking a knock can be heard on the door. As

Jason was going towards the door, he heard Rowan shouting “sis open the door

quickly are you alright?”

 Jason quickly

opened the door and was about to scold Rowan when Rowan said immediately as he

saw his dad” Dad, she went missing.”

Jason was confused and asked “ who went missing?”

Rowan was panting and gasping hard as he ran to fast

earlier to reach home. When he knew that someone was missing from the area they

lived he got worried for living his sister alone at home and rushed back

instantly.

“ Thank god dad you are here! Is sis alright?”
