Weakly, she takes a deep breath as she contemplates her decision. She knows he will question about it but it is the best thing she can do for him.
She is waiting for him, laying on the beach chair with the starry night sky as her view.
A few minutes later, he arrives at the windy beach, taking a seat next to her with a white rose for her. He shoots her with his gentle smile that makes her heart squeezing in pain.
"I love your smile."
His smile instantly drops. "No way."
"Why?" Chuckling, she deliberately asks.
"You know why."
Both of them know. She doesn't do cheesy thing and it makes him feels uneasy for some reasons.
"Maybe, it's time for me to try something new." Taking a deep breath, she smiles at him. "As well as you."
His breath hitches. This is it. The thing that he hates the most. "But, something new isn't always good."
"I know."
"Sweetheart, we've talked about this—"
"You deserve someone better."
"And I also deserve a chance from you."
It makes her chuckle. "Life is not something to be wasted."
"Then, let's create a lot of memories together. Just you and me."
"You can't create memories with something broken." Softly, she states the bitter fact.
“You’re not broken.”
"You’re sweet but bipolar is a lifelong illness. And I... I don't wanna tie you with it.” She says with a genuine smile.
And that when he knows, tonight is their last goodbyes.
