Emily just stood there in that same spot in shock.
Though a five year old, she could tell that what Rena said about her was not something good and, she hated bad things, so once again, she sat on the floor, hugging her knees, but this time she cried softly.
She was still crying when she heard rustling of an object ahead of her. She slowly looked up with her teary face and saw a mouse run out of a wooden box. Out of curiosity, she walked over to the box to see what was inside the box that attracted or chased the mouse away, but what she saw was a strange L-shaped metal with an opening at the mouth of the vertical part of the metal
“What’s this, a toy?”
She observed the object and tried to carry it with both hands which she managed to do and putting three of her right fingers in a small opening in the intersection, she observed the object more closely. She was so focused on admiring the metallic object that the quick movement of a runaway mouse on her barefoot scared the life out of her. Out of fear, she pulled the trigger and the bullet went straight to a toy that stood tall, destroying the heart of the toy.
Emily jxt stood there in shock while the gun fell from her hand as she stared at the toy she shot and slowly, tears began to drop from her eyes.
Meanwhile, while Arthur and his parents were packing their properties into the house, the scary sound of the gunshot came to their ears. Arthur freezed in his spot and the things he held fell from his hands while his parents were shocked to their core wondering where the sound came from.
“Mu…”
Was all Arthur could say. He only pointed towards the house as he was the nearest person to it.
“It came from there?”
Heather asked in confusion
“Did anyone break in?”
“Or did we have an unwanted neighbor all these whiles?”
Humphrey and Heather wondered aloud as they walked past Arthur like they were hypnotized, leaving Arthur who was already in tears. They entered the house and looked everywhere but couldn’t find anybody around.
“Hello! Is anyone here? Show yourself this minute.”
Humphrey shouted at the top of his lungs, yet there was no answer. Minutes later, Arthur screamed and ran all the way to his room and under his bed in fear.
“No more booms, please, no more booms.”
Hw kept on crying while his confused parents ran after him to find out what was wrong.
“Arthur, what’s wrong?”
Heather asked but to no avail. The poor boy wasn’t coming out, not after he just heard gunshots, not knowing that the source came right below him. Humphrey bemt down and gently shifted the bed away so as to carry his son and comfort him, but as he moved the bed, both parents were supprised at what they saw.
A square foot with a small handle.
Humphrey tilted his head in surprise and wondered if that was where the noise came from. While he wondered, Heather carried Arthur in her arms and let her husband try to open the door to his success. Arthur looked to see what was happening and began to wonder
“Is that another house? That’s where neighbors live?”
“No, it’s an underground.”
His forehead furrowed at the strange word
“What’s that?”
But Heather didn’t reply, instead she went down with him and Humphrey but what they saw was not what they were expecting.
They heard a small crying voice and followed it until they reached a small girl with a black long hair crying and hugging a toy that was…shot?
“It was the little girl.” Heather whispered but none of them made an attempt to meet the girl
“No, no, no, no, no, no, don’t die, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you. You must really feel pain.”
Emily cried until she heard a female’s voice behind her
“She’s harmless.”
Poor Emily became alert as soon as she sensed another presence behind her
“Oh no, they caught me, they’re going to chase me from this world like the bad people did to mummy and daddy.”
With that, her cries became louder while Heather on the other hand stopped in her tracks in confusion but nevertheless, summoned courage to meet the girl.
