I was the only daughter of a known merchant and a fallen noble lady, we lived at the outskirts of a remote village.
Since I was young I was told to stay away from the forest.
But I could always feel it calling to me.
One day, at the age of 6, my parents went on a short trip, they were supposed to be back before midnight but they weren't.
I somehow survived for days, but as young as I was, I became terrified for my parents.
I decided I'd go search for them on my own, then as I stepped out into the middle of the night, I saw the shadows of unknown people coming towards our home.
I ran towards the forest without thinking.
If there was something more important than anything my parents thought me; it was that men were more dangerous then the beasts that could kill us.
I heard my own heart hammering, I never went this deeply into the forest, and before long, I had realized I was lost.
The howling and chattering of the beast could be heard in all directions.
Then, I heard IT.
The loud heavy footsteps and the raspy breaths.
I ran, hid, ran, to disappear before it was too late.
The hair at the back of my neck stood, I hid into a broken trunk of a very aged tree. Covering my mouth and closing my eyes.
Everthing stooped, even time itself for some reason.
The only sound left was my heartbeat.
Until I felt a cold moist wind wrap around my body, when I opened my eyes I almost fainted at the sight of the monster before me.
Almost as tall as the tree, dark wide figure, slender long arms, four of them. He was covered in some sort of liquid and he had two hollow eyes.
They're looking at me.
I screamed and cried, being caught in his hand, but that did nothing, his grip tightened.
It brought me closer to his face, inspecting me.
I went rigid.
Somehow I wasn't expecting it to talk, or for his voice to sound so familiar.
"Why are you here so soon?"
I don't answer, as shoked as I was.
"Come back when it's your time, little girl"
I wanted to answer, opening my mouth, but the next second his grip tightened on me and my vision went dark.

I woke up pulled by two strong hands, and a worried voice calling out to me. An older gentleman shook me awake, but I was still disoriented.
I didn't know my life would completely beark down in that moment.
The older man, with a trembling voice and a hesitant look told me that my parents had been attacked on their way back and thus died.
He was my grandfather, my mother's father. He told me he'd take me into his family that had regained honor in the years that passed.
But I was shaking, wishing it was all just a dream, a nightmare.
No it's not true.
And in my mind, the only thing that flashed through was the memory of that terrible monster.
That terrible blood soaked monster.
My parent's blood...
