Part 2: The End of Waiting
For two and a half years, Nia and Yuna were inseparable.
They lived like a quiet, imperfect, beautiful kind of forever.
Classes. Late-night talks. Small fights. Shared laughter.
And nights spent falling asleep in each other’s arms.
Yuna was careless about studies.
Nia wasn’t.
But Nia carried both of them.
Happily.
Until one day—
Yuna had to go home.
“Wait for me,” she said. “I’ll be back before exams.”
Nia felt uneasy.
But Yuna smiled it away.
“I’ll come back. Promise.”
She left.
One day passed.
Two days.
Three.
Nothing.
No calls.
No messages.
Then suddenly—
A message.
“Focus on your exams. Don’t call home. Don’t come looking for me. I swear.”
And then—
Silence.
Nia broke.
Still, she gave her exams.
Barely.
Then came the truth.
Yuna was married.
Just like that.
Without a goodbye.
Years passed.
Nia became a college professor—respected, successful.
But alone.
She never stopped waiting.
Because some promises… refuse to die.
One night, after years, she opened social media again.
And found Yuna.
Different.
Smiling in a snowy country.
Standing close to a man.
Happy.
Or at least… looking happy.
That wasn’t the Yuna she knew.
The girl who once said she didn’t want this life…
Was it all a lie?
For the first time—
Nia felt anger.
Jealousy.
Pain.
She almost called her.
But stopped.
Instead, she sent a message—
“I’m still waiting.
You’re not happy… are you?”
— Nia
The End.
