Chapter 6: Broken Trust
Rima was still standing in the same place.
Her eyes were filled with tears, but she couldn’t cry properly.
It felt like something inside her had gone completely empty.
“Arian… engaged?” she whispered to herself.
She couldn’t believe it.
The same boy who said, “I can’t live without you”…
How could he suddenly be getting married to someone else?
Suddenly, her phone started ringing.
Her heart skipped a beat when she saw the name on the screen—
Arian calling…
She stared at it for a moment.
Should she answer… or not?
Finally, she picked up the call.
“Hello…” her voice sounded weak.
“Rima, where are you?” Arian asked, his voice filled with concern.
Rima closed her eyes.
“What do you care about where I am?” she replied softly.
“Are you okay?” he asked again.
Rima’s anger started rising.
“Do you even have the right to ask me that?” she said.
Silence fell on the other side.
“What are you trying to say?” Arian finally asked.
Rima took a deep breath and said—
“Your marriage is fixed… isn’t it?”
There was complete silence.
That silence was enough to give her the answer.
Tears rolled down Rima’s cheeks.
“Answer me, Arian!” she shouted.
“Rima… I—” Arian tried to speak but stopped.
“Tell me the truth!” she cried.
After a long pause, Arian finally said—
“Yes… the marriage has been fixed…”
Rima felt like her world stopped right there.
Her hand almost dropped the phone.
“Then why did you come back into my life?” she asked, trembling.
“I love you…” Arian said.
Rima let out a painful laugh.
“Love? Is this what you call love?” she said.
“You love me on one side… and get engaged on the other?”
“What kind of love is this, Arian?”
Arian stayed silent.
He had no answer.
Rima wiped her tears.
“From today… you are no longer part of my life.”
“Rima, please—” Arian tried.
“No!” she shouted. “I don’t want to hear any more lies.”
She ended the call.
Everything went silent.
Rima looked up at the sky.
It had started raining again…
Just like the day their story began.
But today…
Everything ended.
