Chapter 5: The Unexpected Truth
Days passed, but Rima couldn’t find peace.
Arian’s words kept running through her mind.
“I’ll wait… no matter how long it takes.”
She tried to stay away from him.
She really did.
But her heart… it didn’t listen.
One evening, while returning home, Rima noticed something strange.
A black car was parked near her house.
She frowned.
They didn’t usually have visitors like that.
As she stepped closer, she saw a man standing beside the car.
He looked serious… and unfamiliar.
“Are you Rima?” the man asked.
Rima hesitated.
“Yes… who are you?”
“I’m here to talk about Arian,” he said.
Rima’s heart skipped a beat.
“What about him?” she asked nervously.
The man took a deep breath.
“You should stay away from him.”
Rima felt a sudden anger.
“Why? Who are you to tell me that?”
“I’m his elder brother,” the man replied calmly.
Rima froze.
Arian’s brother…?
“He told you about his family, right?” the man continued.
“Then you should understand why this relationship can’t happen.”
Rima clenched her fists.
“I don’t care about your family’s opinion,” she said.
“This is between me and Arian.”
The man looked at her with a sharp gaze.
“You may not care… but we do.”
Rima felt uneasy.
“There are things you don’t know,” he said.
“If you stay with him… both of you will suffer.”
Rima’s heart started beating faster.
“What are you trying to say?” she asked.
The man looked away for a moment, then said—
“Arian is already engaged.”
Everything went silent.
Rima felt like the ground beneath her feet disappeared.
“What…?” she whispered.
“Yes,” the man said.
“Our family fixed his marriage long ago.”
Tears filled Rima’s eyes instantly.
“No… he wouldn’t do that…” she said, shaking her head.
“Believe whatever you want,” the man replied.
“But this is the truth.”
With that, he got into the car and left.
Rima stood there, completely broken.
Her hands were trembling.
Her heart refused to accept what she just heard.
“Arian… engaged?” she whispered.
Was everything a lie again?
Or was there another truth she didn’t know yet?
