Rey broke up with his girlfriend, Yuno a week ago but he still often caught her following him everywhere he goes. Rey also noticed that things have started going missing in his home, his keys, his wallet, and more.
One night, Rey just got out of work and he's walking home since it's only several blocks away. Then suddenly, he noticed Yuno following him. It's been stressing him out, so he decide to confront her this time. He turned around and saw that she has a deranged smile on her face.
"You finally noticed me, darling? I thought you were ignoring me."
"Stop it. You know it's the same as you're doing a crime, don't you? I've been generous not to call police. But if you continue to act like this, I might ended up doing it for real." Rey said firmly, annoyance visible on his face.
Yuno's smile never vanishes. If anything, it actually grows wider upon hearing Rey's words. She walked up to him and wrapped her arms around his neck.
"Oh, darling, do you really think the law can keep me away from you?" She said and leaned closer to his face. "You're mine. You belong to me, whether you like it or not. I'm not letting you get away so easily."
Rey felt extremely uncomfortable as Yuno's words sent shivers down his spine. He didn't like her possessive behavior towards him, and the fact she was stalking and stealing from him just made him more frustrated. He push her away and take a few steps away from her.
"You're being delusional. We're broken up, remember? You need to move on and leave me alone!" He said with more force, almost yelling at her then walked away.
But Yuno was unfazed. She kept her smile plastered on her face as she followed him a few steps behind.
"Move on? Why should I do that when I can have you for myself, darling?" The way she talked about him sounded like he was her possession.
"You can't run from me, I will always follow you." She said as she increased her pace to stand in front of him, blocking his path.
Rey was getting really annoyed now. He pushed past Yuno and continued walking home. He didn't look back, hoping she would just leave him alone this time.
But deep down, he knew that wouldn't happen.
"You can walk away, darling... but your toothbrush missed you tonight," Yuno sings softly from behind, her voice sweet as poisoned honey.
She skips ahead and spins to face him, one hand tucked behind her back like she’s hiding a secret. Her red eyes gleam under the streetlight.
“I brushed my teeth with it while wearing your hoodie~ It still smells like you. Don’t be mad… I just wanted to feel close.”
A giggle escapes her lips — light, cheerful… chilling.
“You’ll never get rid of me. I’m already in your home… in your space… in you.”
Rey covered his ears as he continues to walked even faster, almost running.
"Fuck! Fuck!" He runs while cursing under his ragged breath.
Yuno chases after him, undeterred by his actions. She quickened her pace and her steps echoed through the otherwise quiet night.
She giggles again, a sound so innocent yet so twisted, it seemed almost otherworldly.
Rey felt a cold shiver crawl down his spine as he could sense her closing the distance between them.
"You can't run forever, darling," she called out to him, her voice dripping with twisted affection. "I always catch you in the end."
Rey’s breath came fast as he fumbled with his keys at the front door, hands shaking. Behind him, soft footsteps clicked against the pavement—slow, deliberate.
Just as he slammed the door shut and turned the lock, a whisper slithered through the mail slot:
"Silly Rey~ Locks don’t work on love."
A white lace glove slid out from under his rug. Inside it? His missing phone… cracked screen glowing with a selfie of Yuno… taken inside his bedroom.
"What the fuck!!"
Rey slammed the furniture against the door, the impact shuddering through the walls. His heart pounded in his chest, and adrenaline coursed through his veins. Only when he made sure everything's sealed properly, he can finally feel at ease.
It's finally quiet for a second, Rey sighed . all that adrenaline make him so thirsty, so he stride towards the kitchen and opened the fridge to get cold water. He took several gulps of water, while trying to call a police to report his stalker outside of his house.
Only when there's response to his call did he finally notice the funny taste of his water.
The water tasted... sweet. Too sweet.
Rey spat it out instantly, his eyes darting to the bottle. Condensation rolled down the plastic like tears.
And then he saw it — a tiny pink label stuck to the side, written in delicate cursive:
[For my darling~ Drink up. It’s just a little something to help you sleep… and dream of me.]
His blood ran cold.
Before he could react, his body swayed and the world seems to be thrown upside down. He suddenly feel terribly sleepy.
"|Click|Hello, police here. What's your emergency?"
Rey can hear the sound he had waited from the call, but he couldn't even respond as his eyes feel heavy. The phone slip out his hand, and |BaM| his body collapse on the floor.
"Hello? are you alright? sir? mam? sir? hello?!"
"F..uck" He cursed as his consciousness slowly fading.
From inside the ventilation shaft above him. The metal grate trembled slightly.
And then...
Silence.
He couldn't remember anything after that.
Rey slowly opened his eyes, his vision blurry. He felt extremely dizzy and groggy, and the first thing he saw was a dimly lit ceiling above him.
He tried to move but realized his wrists were tied tightly to the bedpost with soft red ribbons—familiar ones. The same kind she used to tie her hair.
"Ugh… what…?"
A soft giggle echoed from the corner of the room.
"Welcome back, sleepyhead~"
Yuno sat in a chair beside the bed, rocking gently. She wore one of *his* old shirts—now covered in hand-stitched red hearts—and held a steaming cup of tea like nothing was wrong.
"You were so rude earlier," she whispered sweetly, "running away from me… ignoring my love." She leaned forward, white hair cascading like silk. "So I decided to bring you home where you belong."
Her red eyes shimmered with obsession—and something deeper.
"I didn’t dose your water just to make you sleep…" She smiled tenderly. "I did it for our future."
She stood up and brushed her fingers across his cheek.
"Now shhh… no more running. No more lies. We're together again... forever, darling."
And as if on cue—the bedroom door locked itself with a quiet |click|.
