Avika’s POV
I just came here for a business deal. Never thought I’d see you again, dear Rohan. It’s been seven years.
— POV end —
As Avika entered The Rajput Enterprise, she had no idea she’d meet her former classmates — people who were once her best friends.
She wanted to say hi, but stopped when she saw a girl standing beside Rohan — his P.A.
“Let’s go, I can’t do this deal,” Avika murmured, still staring at Rohan and that girl.
“But ma’am, why?” Raj, her P.A., asked curiously.
“Personal reasons,” Avika replied shortly, turning away.
Raj adjusted her glasses.
“Ma’am, in the business world, you have to keep your personal reasons aside.”
Avika sighed, knowing Raj was right. She had just returned from abroad, and now, as the head of her company, she couldn’t afford to lose such an important deal — not after everyone’s hard work.
She took a deep breath, ignored the sight of Rohan, and followed an employee to the meeting room.
---
Fifteen minutes later, the meeting was about to begin.
Rohan entered with his P.A. and took the seat at the center — clearly the head of the meeting. His P.A. stood behind him confidently.
“Start the meeting,” Rohan said in a firm, dominating voice that filled the room.
One by one, everyone presented their proposals. Then it was Avika’s turn.
Raj handed out the hard copies while Avika began explaining their proposal.
Rohan listened carefully, ignoring the fact that the woman standing before him was once his closest fr— “classmate.”
“That’s all. Does anyone have any questions?” Avika asked politely, smiling.
The room was silent.
Then Rohan’s P.A. bent down and whispered something to him.
Rohan nodded.
“Miss Avika, your proposal is impressive,” he said sharply. “But can you explain how you’ll manage the finances?”
His P.A. smiled — a smile that hid something malicious.
Avika’s fists tightened. Only a few people knew how much she hated finance. But she took a breath and replied calmly,
“Mr. Rohan, please open page 24. As you can see…”
She explained flawlessly, ending with a confident smile — one that mocked his P.A. subtly.
The silent war between them came to a temporary calm.
“If anyone has more questions, please ask,” she said politely again.
No one spoke.
“Thank you,” she said, bowing lightly before returning to her seat.
---
An hour later, the meeting ended.
“Everyone, please wait for the results,” Anjali — Rohan’s P.A. — announced.
While others went to the hall to relax, Avika rushed to the washroom, Raj following her but stopping respectfully at the entrance.
Inside, Avika leaned over the sink, throwing up.
Nothing new. It was that time of the month — her menstrual cycle.
She washed her face and came out.
“Bring me sanitary pads,” she told Raj quietly. He nodded and hurried off.
She sighed, noticing the small blood stain on her formal pants. “Why today?” she muttered, calling Raj to bring an extra pair of pants.
As she ended the call, she heard footsteps — two women entering the washroom.
“Listen carefully,” one said. “Mix this in Avika’s and her P.A.’s drinks. It’ll be fun to see them lose face.”
“But ma’am, they’re new to the field…” another voice hesitated.
“So? You won’t do it?”
“N-No, I will,” the intern stammered.
The two left.
Avika wasn’t shocked — she was new to the country, but not to the business world.
A few minutes later, Raj returned with the things she asked for. After changing, Avika informed Raj about the incident. They both became alert.
---
Back at the hall, a waiter came by with two drinks — just for them.
Avika smiled slightly, reminding Raj of the plan through her eyes.
From the second floor, Rohan watched the scene. He noticed Avika’s changed outfit and frowned but stayed silent.
Avika, maintaining her professional smile, whispered to Raj,
“Throw the drinks away secretly.”
Raj nodded and did exactly that, later returning with two new drinks from the counter.
Avika smiled in relief.
They began mingling with other business figures, introducing themselves and their company.
After about twenty minutes, it was time for the announcement.
Rohan stepped onto the stage. Anjali stood beside him, visibly irritated.
Avika wondered — Was she the one behind that childish trap?
“And we’ve decided to collaborate with two companies,” Rohan announced.
Avika finally understood why Anjali looked so angry — they were selected.
Her heart swelled with joy. All their hard work had paid off.
The three companies signed the contract and shook hands.
“Happy collaboration, Mr. Rohan,” Avika said with a polite smile, lightly touching his hand — her voice calm, her body stiff.
“Happy collaboration, Mr. Ishaan,” she said next, her tone polite but her gestures perfectly natural.
Rohan couldn’t help but tighten his fist.
