This draft is the continuation of the “Memorable Times With Marcus Part I💁🏻“. I will be updating this draft from time to time and hopefully it is as good as Part one
The next day, Lewis enters the café gloomy. Guy and Oliver realized it immediately. The shift had not started and the other co-workers have yet to arrive so for Lewis to be Gloomy something is wrong. Oliver, a man with respect, never puts his mind and mouth in other businesses but for Lewis to be looking like a walking mess something must have gone wrong. So Guy and Oliver walked up to Lewis and told him to have a sit. Lewis prefer standing to sitting but he had no choice because Guy looked at him worried. Lewis sat down so as Guy and Oliver. They both asked Lewis what is wrong.
Lewis hesitated but then confessed “You see I just wished mom and dad where here with me that all I can say”
Oliver guess Lewis might be homesick and asked Lewis to take a day off. Lewis did not accept and told Oliver and Guy he would be fine. Guy told Lewis to be careful that he might get depression but Lewis still disagrees because the reason is that he does not want Marcus to come back to the café to realize he has taken a day off besides Lewis did not appear at the silver bridge like Marcus told him to. Oliver allows Lewis to work after careful consideration but if anything is wrong go home. Lewis agreed and began to get prepared for his shift
Meanwhile, Marcus woke up to the sound of the cell opening. Marcus opened his eyes to see his worst nightmare, the doctors that treated him yesterday Sir Clark and his assistant Greg. Clark was glad to see Marcus but it was the other way round for Marcus. Clark asked if Marcus felt any better but Marcus ignores him. When Clark told Marcus he has to begin the therapy this morning, Marcus stared directly at Clark still with his glowing red eyes.
This incident made Clark change his mind that he will postpone it to the afternoon and leaves Marcus in the cell. It was just after Sunrise so the curse has not worn off yet. Marcus was staring at the barricade when a figure appeared.
The person was Devin Bach, Marcus childhood best friend. Devin have been friends with Marcus since Devin was five. Although Devin was not a royal he was Marcus consort and comforter. He was the only person who was never hurt by Marcus when Marcus goes insane. Devin was like an older brother to Marcus, although Marcus is older than Devin by four years. Devin owes his life to Marcus for saving him from human traffickers at the age of five. Devin went on an expedition as Marcus frontier for a year. Now Devin is back Marcus has someone he can trust.
Devin walks up to Marcus, remove the shackles on his hands and feet using magic and hugs Marcus. Marcus waiting for Devin’s return hugs him and cries his soul out. Devin conforts Marcus before Marcus said they have to get dressed like a townsfolk. Devin follows him and asks why that is when Marcus explains that there is a foreigner working in the noble café and he wants to speak to him. Devin ask how long they have met and Marcus told him for a day.
Devin chuckles and runs while holding Marcus “Marcus, you can not leave that boy hanging on a thread let’s go”
With Devin support Marcus felt at ease. On Lewis side, his shift has begun with countless customers waiting to try the new dessert “mint strawberry shortcake” which led to Lewis working overtime. Lewis just had to endure this long time to meet Marcus. Lewis hesitates thinking why is he caring so much for Marcus besides he is just a customer. While stuck in thoughts, two guys enter the noble café, it was Marcus and Devin. Lewis and Marcus stared at each other feeling their hearts skipped a beat.
Lewis broke the silence first by gesturing to Marcus and Devin to sit. Once Marcus and Devin sat down, Marcus could not stop ruining Lewis precious time. Marcus told Lewis to fetch him a cold soda with his usual. Lewis did not get what he meant by usual, Marcus told Lewis to find out himself. Lewis clearly only met this guy for one day, he thought maybe he has visited before he came to Asquith or after his shift. Lewis went to the counter and propose the issue, clearly no one knew this guy so Lewis just brushed up the food he ordered last, because it clearly shows Marcus wants to make a fuss.
When Lewis delivered the food to Marcus, Marcus wanted to tease and frustrated Lewis even more saying to bring the most complex foods in the menu. After the torment just begun, Lewis got tired and ask him to stop with the orders, the third time Marcus was dejected making him to want Lewis for himself. After Lewis spoke, it seems Marcus is delusional so Devin apologized to Lewis and snapped Marcus back to reality.
Devin smiles at Marcus “so do you plan to marry him”
Marcus responds swiftly “NO!!! He is a guy besides we don’t share mutual feelings”
Devin replies “so like friends”
Marcus speaks “no!! Stop it Devin”
Devin speaks “so the boy seems to be into you, you can invite him for the upcoming banquet”
Marcus replies “how do you know about the banquet”
Devin answers the suprised Marcus “The butler told me besides you can bring more than one person in which one is your soulmate”
Marcus responds “stop Devin you are way to cheesy”
Devin replies “I know, Duke Marcus”
Immediately Marcus closed Devin’s mouth. Marcus looks directly at the silenced Devin. Devin gently removes Marcus hand from his mouth and laughs hysterically.
Devin stops laughing and whispers Marcus “so no one here knows your identity”
Marcus becomes speechless.
Devin tells Marcus “no wonder everybody are so relaxed, do not worry I promise not to spill the beans”
Marcus asks Devin “can you just not form a pun because you are not good at it and yes, the brown-haired boy that just served us also does not know.
Lewis once again stands at Marcus table and ask “what do I not know”
The energy from Marcus face got drained in an instant and once again Marcus faints. Lewis panics for the second time because this is not the first time he nearly sent Marcus to heaven.
As Lewis tries to help the situation, Devin just laughs with him helping Lewis. Devin told Lewis that he should not just appear in front of Marcus because it scares the crap and soul of Marcus. Devin helps Marcus up and prevent Marcus from getting too angry but it seems that Marcus has been scared to the bone
Lewis did not know that he really scared Marcus. Marcus was so worried that Lewis will find out his identity that he literally nearly visited the devil. Marcus later recovers and apologize to Lewis at the same time Lewis apologized to Marcus. Devin felt the chemistry unraveling but still Lewis and Marcus acted so gentle
Devin knew his mission was to bring this two lovers together, even though they think they do not have feelings for each other. Devin stared at them as they began to blush. Marcus obviously did not get romance so he broke the silence.
Lewis snapped back to reality and wanted to end his shift early but Marcus grabbed his hand again. Lewis apologize for not coming to the silver bridge that is when Marcus realized both of them did not go to the bridge. Marcus proposed to meet Lewis at the bar along the road. Lewis did not know the bar Marcus was talking about so Marcus sent him the location on his phone to Lewis phone
Note- They are phones, it is just a last resort
Lewis agreed and promised to meet him after his shift. Marcus over-pays again, stands up, drags Devin and waves goodbye. Lewis waves as well. Sarah, his co-worker saw what was going on but did not say a word.
After a long day, Lewis shift has ended. Lewis is about to leave the cafe when Sarah calls Lewis. Lewis answers and ask what is wrong. Sarah tells Lewis that Marcus is not someone Lewis can trust what if he backstabs Lewis. Lewis did not get and went anyway.
To be honest Sarah has developed feelings for Lewis and she did not want Lewis to turn gay so as soon as Lewis left Sarah called a mysterious lady on her phone to take care of the threat. Marcus appears to the bar alone, he did not want Devin to mistakenly ruin his plans as he enters he sits down waiting for Lewis. Marcus met a fine lady, the lady greeted and offered him some wine. Marcus refused saying he has someone he was waiting for.
The lady dejected, poured a strange powder into a glass of water and offers it to Marcus. Marcus without a second thought drank it because he was already thirsty. Once he chugged the cup of water whole he felt off, his body felt hot when the weather was cold. The lady sat on Marcus lap and started kissing him.
Marcus mistakeningly thought it was Lewis kissing him and joined in the kiss. After some U turns, Lewis was at the bar. He opened the door and to his horror Marcus was kissing another lady. Lewis felt heartbroken, dejected, betrayed and rejected in his heart and left immediately. He ran home, shut the door and got the first time in his life he felt shattered into a thousand pieces.
Lewis was heartbroken but he did not know why. It is not like he was in love with Marcus.
Marcus has indirectly betrayed Lewis. Will Lewis be able to carry the weight he just settled or will Marcus have to force Lewis to love him.
