Prologue - Real Smile
A sneering laugh filters through the still air leaving me wondering "why" and "how can somebody sound so fake" that's when i saw it.
My reflection.
A stiff mask-like curve spread across my lips upon my pale white skin. My clear blue eyes widen in shock when a gentle voice calls my attention.
"You okay dear"
"Oh uh" blinking back subtly dazed "right, yeah of course Mom"
She smiles softly but it's a stark difference from mine. Her smile is gentle and warm dispite how it barely causes her a wrinkle.
"It's almost as if her eyes are smiling." A barely audible mutter slips unnoticed.
That's also when i had a thought. "Exactly what makes a smile... real?"
