Her scream never left her throat.
Elina stood frozen, the phone slipping from her fingers.
Behind her, the air shifted.. heavy, alive.
The shadows thickened, no longer just tricks of light.
Something moved. Not walking. Crawling.
Jay’s voice came through the phone speaker, distant and panicked:
“Elina? Answer me! I’m coming over!”
She couldn’t move. Couldn’t speak. The presence was real now.
Another buzz. The unknown number again:
“Too late.”
The lights flickered. Her bedroom door creaked open.. slow, deliberate.
But she hadn’t heard it close.
Something was already inside.
Another message appeared on the screen, though her phone lay on the floor:
“Look behind you.”
