The whisper came again, soft but close. Elina’s heart beat faster. She thought it was just the wind.
Her phone buzzed. A message from Jay:
“Are you okay? You sounded scared.”
Elina typed back:
“I hear voices. Someone is watching me.”
She looked at the window. Shadows moved in the dark.
A new message appeared from an unknown number:
“You shouldn’t have looked.”
Elina froze. Who was this?
Jay texted fast:
“Block the number. Don’t answer.”
But every time Elina tried, another message came:
“You can’t hide from what you can’t see.”
Her phone rang. It was Jay.
“Call me now! Are you alone?”
Elina whispered,
“I’m scared. I think someone is in my room.”
The room grew cold. Shadows crept closer.
Then a message:
“Yes. I’m here.”
Elina turned slowly. The silence felt heavy.
She wasn’t alone.
