The next day, Adura was woken by her alarm. She gruellingly got up from the bed and went into the bathroom to take her bath.
While bathing, she noticed a significant change in her skin. Her skin was now extremely shiney, lighter and soft. She just shrugged it all of.
When she was done bathing, she wore her clothes and went downstairs for breakfast.
“ aunt is breakfast ready ” Adura half yelled a and she came down the stairs.
“ yes, breakfast is ready” aunt Sirena answered from the dining room.
“ what did you cook today aunt ” Adura asked a she walked towards the dining table.
“ I made your favori.....” aunt Sirena stopped her sentence half way when she turned around and saw Adura.
“ aunt, what happened ” Adura asked worriedly when she saw how aunt Sirena eyes started to tear up when she saw her.
“ ( sniff..sniff )..... It's nothing ” aunt Sirena said as she quickly wiped her tears.
“ you just look so much like your mother when she was younger ” aunt Sirena added.
“ no need to cry aunt. I'm sure that mum and dad are happy, and they are watching over us from heaven. ” adura said as she hugged aunt Sirena and patted her back.
Although Adura had never seen her parents, she still felt a strong connection to them.
After the aunt and neice emotional moment, Adura had her breakfast and left for school.
Adura was in her first year of university. She studied zoology because she adored animals, she also liked discovering new things about them.
Among all of them, there were three major animals she loved which were; the Eagle, the Cat, and the Elephant.
She found those three animals to the the most fascinating of all. Firstly, an eagle could fly at speeds up to 130 km/h, they also had a very keen eyesight. Secondly, the cat is widely known for its incredible flexibility and it's ability to react quickly. The cat has a reflex of about 15-20 millisecond. Last but not least the Elephant, this mighty beast is known for its incredible strength. a fully grown elephant can weigh as much as 6,000 kg and it's stomp can create as much force as 360,000 Newton. Elephants can also lift their own body weight.
As soon as Adura stepped into the campus, she immediately became the centre of attention.
Adura was known as one of the most beautiful girl in the campus, so it was not strange that she received attention. But she noticed that she received more attention than usual.
“ good morning Adura, happy birthday in arrears ” some of the Adura's friends who were not able to attend her birthday party, greeted her and wished her a happy birthday.
Adura walked to the zoology building, on her way she bumped into someone.
“ are you ok. ” the person she bumped into said.
“ I'm fine, t.. thank you.. ” she managed to say. The person she bumped into was Veer, he was the school heartthrob.
He was voted to be the most handsome guy in the campus, almost every girl in the school had a crush on him, and Adura was not an exception. He had blonde hair and green eyes, he was 6 feet tall and had a very cute smile. His Nickname was king of hearts.
“ your name is Adura, right ” Veer asked as he flashed her his signature smile.
“ y.. yes, t.. that's my name ” Adura stuttered, a blush made its way to her cheek. She was unable to make a complete sentence without stammering. She was overwhelmed by the fact that her crush was talking to her.
“ is something wrong, your face is red. Are you sure you're ok ” Veer asked with concern as he placed his hand on her forehead.
“ I..I..I'm ok ” Adura said with a voice that was almost inaudible. Her face was red because she was blushing but when she felt Veer's hand on her forehead, her heart started racing. She felt like her heart was going to burst.
“ really. ” Veer asked as he removed his hand from her forehead.
“yes, ” she answered.
“ that's good ” he said
“ I have to go now, but how about we have lunch later at the cafeteria together. ” Veer said.
“ o..ok, I'm l.. looking forward to it ” Adura said as she tried to conceal her excitement.
“ bye.. ” Veer said as he walked past her.
When Veer was a good distance away, Adura half screamed for joy. She was so excited that she would be having lunch with her crush.
— it's like we're going out on a date — Adura thought with a big smile plastered on her face.
She happily skipped into the zoology building. Through out that morning, Adura had a meaningful smile on her face, she could not wait for lunch time.
Twenty minutes before lunch time, Adura suddenly heard a scream coming from the back of the building. She looked around and noticed that nobody seemed to hear the scream. She thought she was just hearing things, but after a few seconds she heard another scream again, but this time it was accompanied by a loud roar.
She stood up abruptly which shocked the people around her.
She ran to the back of the building, and what she saw shocked her. There were two tigers who were not inside their cages anymore, she noticed that the lock of the tiger cage was broken, she was alarmed when she saw one of the tigers walking towards one of the students of the zoology department, the tiger wanted to attack.
She immediately ran towards the student and pushed her out of the way. The tiger turned it's attention towards Adura....
