The Last Twilight by amajohn
(Inspired by the song "The Last Twilight by William of LYKN)
In the fading light of a dying day,
You're the last glow that chases the gray away.
The final whisper of a flame that's lost its might,
The last twilight I'll find, before the endless night.
Your eyes, a lantern in the darkening sea,
A beacon that guides me, where I'm meant to be.
But like all twilights, fleeting and brief,
Our time is short, and our love is a fragile leaf.
I'll cling to every moment, every whispered word,
Every glance that speaks of love unheard.
For in your arms, I find my peaceful nest,
A refuge from the storms that rage and unrest.
Yet, like the twilight, our love will fade,
A dying ember, in the darkness we've made.
I'll cherish every moment we share,
For I know that soon, you'll no longer be there.
The shadows creep, the light begins to wane,
And I'm left with tears, and a heart in pain.
You're the last twilight, the final gleam,
The last reminder of a love that's lost its dream.
In this last twilight, I'll hold you tight,
And wish that time would freeze, this moment in sight.
But like the twilight, our time will pass,
Leaving me with memories, and a heart that's shattered at last.
