Author: Jasmine Carrillo
Hi, I'm Jasmine Carrillo, and I'm an author. At the age of sixteen, I wrote a story titled Crazy Love, and I hope you enjoy it. The story revolves around a girl who falls in love with a ghostly boy.
Lilly has a curious, imaginative, and intelligent personality and lifestyle. The ghost boy, also known as Max, has a unique personality and lifestyle. He is shy, quiet, somewhat slow, and occasionally aggressive. At one time, Max was just a regular boy, but he eventually passed away due to a lack of shelter, as his parents were abusive.
Lilly is an only child with both a father and a mother who work very hard. As a result, she often finds herself alone. Despite this, she is a well-behaved girl who is quite popular and achieves excellent grades.
Chapter one
Have you ever considered the supernatural and its reality? If you have, do you think it would be odd for a girl to be in love with a ghostly boy?
Hello, I'm Lilly, and I'm here to share my love story, which began with a significant encounter. I'm currently thirty years old, but it all started when I was just four.
One lovely Thursday morning, I woke up to prepare for school. I took a shower and got dressed in overalls and a white t-shirt. After that, I went downstairs for breakfast and then chose to study for a little while.
Because I needed to catch the bus at about seven-thirty, I chose to grab my bag and wait at the bus stop. When I heard an unusual sound, I followed it and ended up at an abandoned house, where the noises resembled clashes and screams.
I'm curious about where the noises are coming from and why they led me to an abandoned house.
Lilly enters the abandoned house and examines every area except the basement. She ultimately decides to go downstairs to see if there someone downstairs surprisingly there was a boy.
Hi, my name is Lilly. I came here because of the sounds I heard while I was waiting for the bus at the bus stop.
A few minutes later, the boy came out and chatted with Lilly for a bit.
Oh hello, sorry for my loud noises, I'll turn the volume down, I won't do it again, you can go back to the bus stop go ahead.
Of course, but could you explain why you're here? It's quite chilly in this place; aren't you feeling cold?
I don't have the time to explain it to you since it's a lengthy story. As I mentioned, I'm going to stay silent.
Oh, I'm really curious about why you're here. Where is your family?Shouldn’t you be at school, or at least anywhere other than here.
You ask a lot of questions to someone who appears here out of nowhere. If I tell you than would you leave.
I'm sorry to ask, but I missed the bus already so why don't you inform me. If you let me know, I'll go.
I don't mean to come across as strange or frightening, but I have the ability to see visions of the future, specifically three days ahead, and I'm not like everyone else.
Alright, what do you mean by "not even human"?
You see, I'm a ghost. I used to have a family, but I chose to leave. I ended up here and died because I couldn't find any shelter. I made that choice because my parents were abusive.
Oh no, I'm really sorry! By the way, you mentioned something about vision—what do you mean by that?
"My vision indicates that a girl is going to arrive, and I currently have no visitors. This girl will need to assist me in becoming human again and in creating this device that will help me regain my humanity."
Alright, I guess I must be that girl since you mentioned that people don't show up. I'll assist you, but what do I gain from being this mysterious girl?
I believe that's the case, but honestly, I'm not sure. We'll have to wait and see. Are you willing to assist me?
"I think you're really awesome even though your life was brief. You deserve another opportunity at life. I'll return tomorrow after school, possibly with a device, but I need to attend school today first. I'll give it some thought.”
Sure, that's great, thank you!
Sure, no problem! Can we be friends? What's your name and how old are you?
"Yes, we can! I think you're really cool as well. My name is Max, and I’m six years old. That's when I made the decision to run away and ultimately lost my life.
Lilly attended school and went about her day, but she appeared somewhat detached. Her friends and teachers attempted to engage her in conversation, but she did not respond.
At last, the day came to an end. Lilly returned home, prepared for her evening study session, completed her homework, and found herself unable to focus on anything except what had happened with Max. She ultimately chose to work on the gadget.
After spending the entire night and into the morning working on the device, Lilly was preparing for school on Friday, a day when she typically has a lot to do. She often felt pressure to perform well because she was afraid of being taken away.
Since her parents are frequently absent, Lilly believes she has to achieve perfect grades, behave well wherever she is, and ensure that she doesn't end up in foster care, leading her to choose to stay out of sight. At last, the day came to an end, and the weekend had started. Lilly stayed with Max to assist him in solving the problem.
Hi Max, I received the device.
Hi Lilly, this is fantastic! Let's get it set up; I'm really looking forward to it.
We have a few tasks to complete before we start working.
What do you mean, and can you provide examples?
As human beings, we possess unique personality traits, and we are constantly learning. Therefore, I will guide you on how to develop your personality and acquire skills in reading, writing, and math.
I regret to say this, but we need to sit down and focus on studying first. Honestly, you really need it. You've likely been out of the loop for quite some time.
Regarding the device, it's somewhat similar to a cell phone; you need to charge yourself instead of charging the device to maintain your humanity. However, you only charge it on Sunday night to ensure everything operates smoothly during the week.
Lilly instructed Max in all subjects, including reading, writing, and math. He took five months to grasp math, while he learned reading and writing in just three to four months. Now, the two have decided to create a sort of rock spaceship hybrid. Max is able to adopt this personality trait because both of them have journeyed across the country, through space, and over the ocean, even visiting places that require an entrance fee. They managed to fit into the last spot, which was the park, where they talked and got to know one another.
They both agreed to return to the abandoned house and test the device.
Wow, oh my gosh, alright, let's get started!
Okay Max, this device that resembles a phone is something you should always have with you. It's not exactly the tool you need to get into this large tube, but it will help you be more human.
Oh, got it! I'm heading in now.
Alright, go inside and stay there until I tell you to come out. I'm starting the countdown: 1...2...3…
After one hour of Max being in the tube and all information was set inside the tube Max came out.
Okay, Max, come out.
Oh wow, it really worked out! Thank you so much.
You're welcome! But how did you know it would work?
For one, I understood what you meant by it being cold. Can I stay with you if that's alright?
Sure, we are friends, but just give me a moment.
Hey mother and father look I'll make this quick I know you are busy but can you do me a favor don't even deny it or say no because if you honestly have a lot of guilt than just do this for me. First of all, please don't speak to us that way. You're correct; we are busy. Alright, we'll take care of it as a favor.
Please enroll my new friend Max Walter, who is six years old in school. Alright, goodbye, and thank you!
Okay Max, let's prepare for the evening, and be ready for tomorrow we'll kick things off with dinner. Let's head back to our place.
"Thank you! Before we leave, can I give you a hug?”
Yes you may give me a hug
Therefore, they both returned home.Lilly began preparing meals for Max, showed him around the house and where he would sleep. They spent some time together watching TV and chatting before heading to bed.
The following morning, Lilly and Max prepared for school. Before heading out, she contacted her parents to check if Max was registered.
Hi, what’s going on now?
Did you enroll, my friend Max?
Yes, we did. Is that all there is?
Sure, thank you! I'll let you go now.
Okay, Max, let's grab some breakfast, then grab your backpack and wait for the bus, which should arrive around seven-thirty.
Okay, let's do this, Max.
They both boarded the bus and headed to school. Upon their arrival, everyone turned to look at Max because he was a new student at the school.
Lilly and Max exchanged glances, aware that the device was effective on Max. Lilly felt a great sense of pride in herself.
Lilly gives Max a tour of the office and the school. Max manages to get his schedule. Lilly bids farewell to Max as she heads to her class, feeling a bit sad. Although she is in preschool, she is already working on first-grade assignments.
Max bid farewell to Lily, feeling quite frightened and anxious, yet he still attended class. As the day progressed, he began to form a group of friends who found him attractive and impressive.
At last, the day came to an end. They both returned home, had dinner, played games, watched television, completed their homework, and studied. Fortunately for Max, he wasn’t too far behind because Lilly had assisted him in learning while she was helping him with the gadget.
Hey Max, how did your first day at school go, and how was it being human?
Honestly, I was really anxious and scared at first, but as the day progressed, things improved and I ended up making some friends.
That's great to hear! Before we go to bed, I need to order some clothes and shoes for you—actually quite a few items. But I'll just focus on the essentials to ensure you're always ready for school.
But how if you are still just a child?
Lilly chuckled, "You know, Max, when your parents are wealthy and feel a lot of guilt, they usually end up giving you a decent amount of money. My parents always give me four hundred dollars. I spend half of it and save the other half.”
Okay, that's fine, but I don't want you to spend your money on me. Your parents are really awful; every time you mention them, it just reinforces that.
Yes, they can be difficult, but I understand that they need to work and support me. However, I wish they would do it differently. I need their attention and presence, but I suppose it's okay since I have you now.
Sure, I get it.
So, get ready for bed now, and then come downstairs in about an hour, okay?
Yes I'll come downstairs after a hour
Max prepared for bed by taking a shower, brushing his teeth, and putting on his pajamas. After an hour, the items Lilly brought arrived, and Max went downstairs. Lilly showed him the new items she had gotten and asked him to put them in the closet.
They also went to bed, prepared for school, and everything was normal for them. They attended school, studied, completed their homework, went to sleep, and made new friends.
In the end, Lilly's friends and Max's friends formed friendships with each other, creating a larger group of friends.
Starting middle school
Additionally, Max and Lilly followed the same schedule during their elementary school years.
Lilly consistently achieved high grades and performed well, while Max faced some challenges for a period. However, as he spent more time in school, he began to engage more with his friends and teachers.
Furthermore, by attending numerous private lessons with instructors and remaining after school, he enhanced his speaking abilities, pushing himself beyond his comfort zone and gaining much more knowledge.
Summer had finally arrived, and the first thing Lilly and Max did was create a variety of gadgets to enjoy during the summer. They spent a lot of time shopping and frequently invited friends over. They often visited the park pool and amusement parks.
After three months of enjoying a fantastic summer, it was time for Lilly and Max to return to school. They went shopping for school supplies, clothes, and a new backpack, and then it was time to begin the school year.
The following morning, Monday, August 17, Lilly and Max woke up, got ready, took showers, and dressed in their new clothes. They packed their new school supplies into their new backpacks and felt very excited to begin a new school year.
This year, Lilly decided against taking the bus to school, so she contacted her parents a while back and suggested that if she and Max were to go to school, they would arrive in a limousine. Her parents agreed, and they went to the school together.
Both of them went to the office and were able to get their IDs scheduled and begin signing up for activities. Lilly opted for basketball and dance, while Max selected soccer and choir. Additionally, both Lilly and Max chose swimming.
They were both able to get their IDs and begin signing up for activities. Lilly selected basketball and dance, while Max opted for soccer and choir. Additionally, both Lilly and Max chose swimming.
They were really pleased with their class schedule for the new school year. However, as time passed, the principal and teachers informed Lilly that if she performed well through the middle of seventh grade, she would have the opportunity to start high school early.
Lilly reflected on what they had said and felt very happy about herself. However, she then thought about Max and became a little upset, worrying that they might not attend school together anymore.
Lilly approached Max and suggested that they should study hard, not just for herself, but for him as well. What do you think, Max?
I can't stick around because I have games to go to. I'm meeting up with my friends afterward, so I'll see you later!
alright, I was just trying to help you enjoy yourself, Max.
Lilly was oblivious to the upcoming changes in her relationship with Max.
At first, Max enjoyed several months with Lilly, spending time together with friends, going to beach parties, attending games, and keeping up his grades. However, as time went on, his attention started to change, and he gradually began to lose sight of Lilly.
When Lilly got home one evening, she noticed that Max was missing. Upset, she chose to get ready for bed and eventually fell asleep after crying a bit.
After being out for a few hours, Max concluded it was time to return home and started looking for Lilly. He searched everywhere downstairs but couldn't find her, so he eventually went up to her room.
Upon entering, Lilly, who had woken up, greeted him with a nonchalant "good for you." However, Max quickly sensed that she was upset about something.
What's wrong Lilly what happened
There's a lot wrong, Max. For starters, you've forgotten about me after everything I've done for you. It's like I don't even matter to you anymore.
There’s a possibility that I might start high school a little earlier, and I want you to be there with me. However,I feel like it might be too late for you to join me now.
As I mentioned, there are many issues.
Lilly, I’m really sorry, and congratulations! I would love to be there with you when you start high school. If I can’t make it, just know that I’ll always be there for you at home. I promise I won’t let you down again. Please forgive me.
Alright, then she began to cry, but she hugged him and reassured him that everything was fine.
Alright, I'm going to lean for a kiss.
Lilly considered kissing him and ultimately decided to take the plunge.
Lilly and Max shared a kiss for a bit before deciding to head to bed.
The next morning, both of them behaved like friends, as if nothing had happened the night before. They went to school and continued with their lives for the next two years.
At last, it was the middle of seventh grade. The principal spoke with Lilly and informed her that she would be moving on to high school.
Lilly was thrilled for herself and inquired about when she would be starting.
The principal mentioned that starting tomorrow, you will be the cheerleading captain instead of the dance captain. There are no specific expectations, but you will need to take art class as your other elective.
That's okay with me; I’m not particularly fond of having to do art, but that's fine.
The principal said, "Okay, continue with your day. I likely won't see you again, but congratulations, Lilly.”
Lilly expressed her gratitude.
As the day continued, Lilly participated in her activities one last time, enjoyed her moments with her friends, and said goodbye to everyone.
The next morning, Lilly prepared for her first day of high school, feeling quite anxious. After a few moments, she took a seat and reflected on how fortunate she was, despite being only fourteen. She thought back on everything that had happened, from her parents leaving her to meeting Max and discovering he was a ghost, to the beginning of this new chapter in her life.
On her first day of high school, Lilly visited the office to speak with her new principal and met all her new teachers for each of her eight classes. After that, she headed to her first class, and everything was going well for her. She participated in activities like cheerleading, basketball, and the writing club. However, she also had to attend art class, which she wasn't particularly fond of, but she ended up making some friends there.
Lilly often felt exhausted but constantly reminded herself that it would all be worth it. She excelled in school and didn't have much time to spend with Max, yet she always gave her best effort at home and in her studies. Meanwhile, she realized she had a crush on Max. On the other hand, Max didn't have much going on in his life, but he and Lilly had built a gadget together that he use to explore and learn more about people and the world, all while keeping up with school and other activities.
Just when Lilly was about to give up, summer arrived for both her and Max. Max suggested they create a gadget, this time to help other ghosts have another chance at life. Lilly agreed, and they began by throwing a big party, which helped them reconnect. They visited various abandoned places, like cemeteries and old houses, but didn’t encounter any ghosts until they decided to explore an alley. There, they finally saw two ghosts and started talking to them. One was a male and the other a female, both around ten years old. One had died in a house fire, while the other had succumbed to an illness.
They were all very excited. On Friday, both of them invited Luna and Lee The two of them became close friends with the ghosts, who they discovered were named Luna and Lee. Max suggested to Lilly that they might be able to help them live again, and she agreed to enter the gadget they had built a long time ago, hoping it would give the ghosts a second chance at life.
Lilly wasn't overly concerned about Luna and Lee's education, but she still cared enough to ensure they were learning. After returning home from school and handling her other responsibilities, she would make them take tests. Since Max was in middle school and got home earlier, he would help tutor Luna and Lee. Lilly would then test them to check their progress, and if they hadn't learned anything, Max would have to take on extra chores at home.
Lilly has always been a good student, often pushing herself to excel. Her secret has been that her parents are not present in her life. Despite this, she has remained the same girl since the age at four. Now that she has grown a bit, Lilly is looking for some changes in her life. She has realized that she loves dancing and playing basketball, and she wants to pursue one of these as a career.
Max has faced many challenges but has always managed to overcome them without letting them affect his determination to achieve his goals. Like Lilly, he has changed since they first met; he is now more confident, talkative, intelligent, and energetic. Although there is still one thing he hasn't accomplished, Max is content with his life as it is at the moment.
Luna and Lee often find themselves feeling confused yet fascinated, as the world around them constantly compares their experiences to their past life. They both have a strong desire to learn and meet new people. Luna has discovered that she is laid-back and enjoys activities typically associated with a tomboy, such as fixing things and exercising; she prefers being active rather than staying at home. In contrast, Lee prefers to stay indoors, often engaging in activities like reading, but he has also realized that he enjoys singing. Both of them still have much to learn about themselves, but they are content with their lives and excited about meeting Lilly and Max.
A couple of years have passed, and Lilly has now graduated from high school, as well as completed some college courses. During middle school, she was already doing high school homework, so when she started high school in the middle of seventh grade, she was able to finish both high school and college classes simultaneously. Max is now a senior and has been doing quite well over the past couple of years. He has been involved in fewer activities but has been working couples little job. After high school, he plans to pursue a career as a writer, and he has received several calls from influential people offering him work. Max is currently in the middle of the school year, while Lilly is seventeen and Max is eighteen. Luna and Lee are fourteen and are busy with their own activities, so Max and Lilly don’t see them as often.
The next morning, Lilly found the courage to express to Max how much he has impacted her life since they first met and her feelings for him. However, unbeknownst to her, Max had been dating the most popular girl in eleventh grade for some time. What the girl doesn't realize is that Max is only in the relationship to hide his true feelings for Lilly. Lilly wants to share her feelings with him, especially since she knows he will soon be leaving for a job and they may not see each other as often.
That night, Lilly planned to share her news with Max after work, hoping to do it perfectly. Meanwhile, at school, Max received devastating news from his girlfriend: she was pregnant with twins and had cancer, with only about a year or less to live. This news shattered Max, as he had once dreamed of having children, but he had always envisioned that future with Lilly. Now, the thought of having to care for children under such circumstances felt overwhelming, and everything he had hoped for seemed to be falling apart, leaving him deeply saddened.
After school, Max went straight to his room, reflecting on how his life had changed in just a few minutes. Lilly noticed and ran after him.
"What's the matter, Max? How was your day? Did you keep working towards your goals and trying to improve yourself like I do?" Lilly was jokingly saying this to Max.
Today without a doubt Lilly was the worst day of my life; I can't believe this happened to me.
I apologize, but how can I assist you? I want to help. I'm not sure if this will bring you joy or improve your day, but I truly love you, Max. I really do, ever since we first met.
No, it doesn't make me happy or brighten my day. You decided to tell me this now, after I've already messed up my life. Lilly, you know I've been in love with you for a long time, especially after that day we kissed and you didn't act on it. So, you want to know what happened next? I went on a date with someone from school, and it turns out she's pregnant with twins and has cancer. Well, thanks for letting me know now.
Max is having a breakdown, crying and struggling to express himself. He feels confused because he doesn't know whether to let Lilly comfort him or to ask her to leave.
I had no idea! Wow, that's a lot to process, Max. I'm really sorry if you don't feel the same way I do right now, but I want to express that I've valued our friendship from the beginning. We've been through a lot together. Do you remember when we were working on that gadget a long time ago? I asked you what I would get out of helping you, and it turns out it was you all along. You’ve been my repayment. You know everything about my parents, and when you came into my life, everything changed for me. So, thank you, Max all I'm trying to say that I'll be right there next to you Max no matter what.
I wanted to share this with you because I know you're about to graduate and move on, but I never found the right moment to say it. It was especially difficult when we were in school and you weren't always close by. I hope you still have feelings for me.
Lilly, to be honest, I never intended to make this decision without you. Everything I've done so far, I wanted to do alongside you. I do care about you, but now I'm in a difficult situation. I've made a mistake, and it's not just one child; it's two. I know that if something were to happen to me, you wouldn't be able to take care of them properly since they're not yours.
All I can say is that I’m unsure of what will happen, so we shouldn’t stress about it. Let’s focus on the future instead. I’m going to bed now. Goodnight, Max.
A few months later, it was time for Max to graduate, and he planned to host a large party for the seniors and incoming freshmen. It would also serve as a farewell party for him. In the days leading up to the event, he reflected on his conversation with Lilly the other night, as well as his thoughts about his girlfriend.
Max reflects on his issues with his girlfriend and realizes that Lilly has always been there for him, even when she was busy with her own commitments. Despite his feelings for her being unclear, he appreciates that Lilly took the time to help him build the gadget that gave him a second chance at life.
Additionally, Max made the decision to be with Lilly; he wanted to marry her, have children, and experience all the typical human activities together. Despite having shared those moments with his now ex-girlfriend, he felt a strong pull towards Lilly. On the night before a significant day, Max approached Lilly and expressed his feelings, saying, "I want you, Lilly. I need you as my partner and my best friend. You've transformed my life for the better, and I want to know if you will be with me.”
Meanwhile, Max expressed his feelings, and Lilly reflected on everything he had shared with her—their experiences together and the long-standing feelings they had for each other. Lilly then said to Max, "Alright, let's make it official and stop waiting. In fact, let's get married tomorrow. I know it sounds crazy, but we've known each other for a long time—since I was four and you were six." Max replied, "That is crazy, but yes, let's do it early in the morning. I truly love you, Lilly."
The next day, they agreed to talk and get married. That night, Max and Lilly decided to have some fun. Max playfully pushed Lilly onto the bed, and they began kissing passionately. Gradually, Max removed Lilly's clothes, and she did the same. They explored each other intimately, trying out different positions. Afterward, they made the decision to get married. They went to sleep, cuddling together.
The next morning, they organized a small yet beautiful wedding. Afterward, they decided to purchase a one-story home with plenty of space, opting for that instead of a two-story house. With all the money Lilly and Max had earned, they could afford a new place. They also chose to buy a small vehicle. Finally, it was time for Max's party, where everyone had a great time. They all said their goodbyes, and Max and Lilly announced their marriage. Max felt that being with Lilly was not stressful and was certain she was the one for him. However, he couldn't shake thoughts of his ex, her illness, and their children. He had spoken to her, saying he no longer wanted to be in a relationship but would help her with anything she needed. He assured her that if the day came when she was no longer around, he would take care of the kids. She agreed to this arrangement. By around ten at night, Max said his goodbyes, especially to Lilly, telling her he had to do this for her and possibly their future children, as well as for his ex's kids. He promised to visit every weekend. After sharing a kiss with Lilly, Max drove off to Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Max finally arrived in the morning around six, knowing he had a meeting at eight. He freshened up, called Lilly to let her know he arrived safely, and then drove slowly to work for the meeting. Gradually, Max began to excel; his work was exciting and different from everyone else's, making it unique. Surprisingly, he started selling a lot of books, and eventually, he became the director, making many decisions and traveling to various places. However, he always returned to his hometown on weekends to see Lilly and, sadly, to visit his children from his ex-girlfriend, who had passed away a few months earlier. Despite everything, Max wanted to be there for his family. Eventually, he grew tired and kept telling himself to push through, but he realized that might not be the best approach.
One Saturday morning, Max woke up feeling unwell. He had experienced this before but always managed to recover. He knew he needed to recharge on Sunday, but due to work commitments, he usually went straight to bed and hadn't taken the time to charge up a couple of Sundays. That night, he went to sleep as usual, but when Sunday came, he just continued to work and Max was going through but in the middle of the day he told his bosses and everyone else that he urgently needed the day off to go home. The problem was that he was in Las Vegas, Nevada, and everyone could see he was serious about needing to leave. They quickly arranged the best flight for him to get home. As he traveled, Max felt himself fading away, seeing a ghost turning slowly. He finally made it home, but only had just enough time to write a letter.
Dear Lilly,
I’m really sorry for everything that has happened. I couldn't predict this future, but I want you to remember all the places we visited as kids, especially our special tree at the park. I love you so much, and it makes me sad that I didn’t do what I was supposed to do every Sunday. I hope to see you again. Thank you for giving me a chance at life, for showing me so much, and for teaching me. I want you to know that you don’t have to take care of my kids anymore. I’m truly heartbroken. I’m sorry again. Goodbye for now. I love you. At that moment, Max was no longer himself. The following morning, Max's coworkers, including his bosses, went to his hotel room but found him missing. They searched everywhere he might have gone and even reviewed the security footage, but there was no sign of Max. Unfortunately, they had to call Lilly to share the bad news. Although no one else was aware of what had happened, Lilly did and had received a letter from Max's boss earlier. This caused her to break down in tears.
Lilly abandoned her career and stopped taking care of herself, especially his ex’s two sons, Landon and Logan. After hearing what happened to Max, she couldn't simply forget him or everything they had been through together. Max had a profound impact on her life, leading her into a deep depression. She began to eat less and was gradually becoming physically ill. This went on for several months. Eventually, her friends from Lilly basketball and dance teams decided to check on her. They expressed their concerns and honestly told her that she needed to go to the hospital. They also mentioned that if she got out in time, they would love for Lilly to join them on a trip they had planned.
Lilly surprisingly went to the hospital, but she wasn't very sick. The doctors took good care of her, and within a month, she was able to leave. The following month, there was a trip planned, and even though Lilly couldn't seem to let go of Max, she decided to join the trip in hopes of forgetting about him for a while. The chances of forgetting him completely were slim, especially since she had spent a long time alone without any fun or visitors. It wasn't until she met Max that her life changed forever. Growing up without her parents made her sad, and from the age of four to eighteen, she never imagined she would fall in love with a ghostly boy.
The following month, Lilly packed her belongings and joined her friends on a trip to Paris. She was curious about why they chose this destination over others, but she decided to go along with them. They took an early morning flight and arrived around five. Once there, they checked into an Airbnb and immediately headed to a fancy restaurant and café, taking plenty of pictures along the way. After shopping, they attended various events happening in Paris. After a long day, they returned to the Airbnb, where one of her friends from the basketball team asked Lilly how her day was. Lilly replied that it was just okay, which frustrated her friend, who started yelling at her. Her friends responded, asking why was she so upset about Max, insisting that it wouldn’t matter even if she talked about it. The argument escalated, leading Lilly to run upstairs to cry.
Afterward, Lilly calmed down and chose to prepare for the night instead of going to sleep. Her friends wanted to go upstairs to talk to her but ultimately decided against it. Around midnight, for some unknown reason, Lilly woke up to a bright light, even though she knew all the lights were turned off. When she opened her eyes, she saw a bright light and a face appearing Lilly instinctively believed that someone was attempting to rob her, kidnap her, or something even more dangerous.
The next thing Lilly realized, to her surprise Max was right there, and she immediately broke down and started crying.
Lilly calm down please I need you to calm down I don't have enough time please let me talk to you I apologize
Lilly not being able to speak and still crying but still trying to calm after a couple minutes she did slowly stop crying why didn't you charge yourself why did you just vanish we had our whole life Max I miss you so much haven't stop thinking about you I know it's silly that I fell in love with a ghost but Max you are everything to me
Hey Lilly, I know I've missed you too. When I disappear, I can't explain why; it just happened. But I'm still here, even though I don't know when I'll see you next. Please hear me out: I love you, and I always will. You need to move on, alright? Whenever you want to see me, just remember these words: "You love me for who I am, and our love is unique." But you have to be at our spot when you're ready. Do you understand?
"I get it, Max. I care about you, and I will do my best to move forward.”
What if I create a compact device that allows you to remain human indefinitely without needing to recharge?
If you’re able and willing, that’s perfectly okay with me. I just want to be close to you and hold you. I really miss you and love you.
Thirteen years have passed, and Lilly is now thirty. Despite her previous belief that her relationship with Max was over, she was mistaken. After their encounter that night, Lilly chose to continue seeing Max. She would visit their favorite tree, say the words, and Max would come, allowing them to catch up on life and share updates about new gadgets. Lilly did meet a guy, dated him for two years, and then married him. A few months later, they were pregnant, and after a little while, they had a son. To be honest, Lilly wasn't the best mother; ever since she met this guy, she spent her time listening to Max and accepting that she couldn't have a relationship with him until she fixed the gadget. The problem was that Lilly was terrified of messing up the gadget again. As a result, she didn't really have any feelings for her husband and didn't care much for him.
On the other hand, Lilly chose to stop being the smart one. She decided to let go of everything she had accomplished in the past, including the dreams she had since childhood, and just be normal for once. Now, she manages an entire building dedicated to sports and activities, ranging from art to various physical pursuits like fighting and more. This facility is focused on helping people improve their skills in whatever they want to excel at. Lilly also oversees another building that offers classes for those who want to participate in activities for fun, as well as a third building for aspiring instructors who wish to train others. The first building caters to people of all ages, with specific time slots: adults can use it from midnight to 3 PM, kids from 3 PM to 6 PM, and preteens and teenagers from 6 PM to 11 PM. Lilly created this setup because sports have always been a significant part of her life, and she wanted to provide similar opportunities for others. She funded everything through her dance and basketball competitions, saving up diligently. Ultimately, all Lilly wants is to rebuild her life with Max, and at thirty years old, she feels like time is slipping away.
Finally, Lilly created the gadget that she was confident would work perfectly. As usual, she went to the tree and spoke the words to summon Max. He immediately came down, and as Lilly activated the device, Max transformed into a human right before her eyes. They shared a passionate kiss and then headed back to her place, where her husband was present. Things quickly turned intimate with Max, while her now ex-husband began to realize what was happening. He started packing his belongings and left with their child, as he loved the baby deeply. However, as Lilly had mentioned before, she was only focused on her job and now, on Max as well.
After everything Lilly and Max have experienced together, things seemed to be going well for them. They talked, ate, and visited many places, going on numerous dates and becoming more intimate. Then, out of the blue, two people named Luna and Lee arrived at Lilly's house to inform them that they had a mission for them.
Chapter Two
When Lee and Luna arrived at Lilly's front door and knocked, they had an important mission to share with them. When Lilly asked about the mission, Lee,Luna explained that they intended to rescue ghosts and travel through time—exploring the past, present, and future—to seek justice for those who had died too soon. Now, they were simply waiting for Lilly and Max's response.
Okay, I chose to let Max take the lead for now because I wanted to hold off on telling you this Max but I'm expecting a baby—we're going to have a child! Lilly said.Oh my gosh, we are, but I can't take on the mission either; I need to be here for you.Lilly: Yes, you need to seek justice for all the others, since you were a ghost at one point too, Max. It's better for you to do the mission.
Alright, but first I need to ask Luna and Lee some questions before proceeding.so Lee and Luna what time and day would I start and am I going to get paid for it and in what way.You would start at eight in the morning and finish around ten so you won't feel overwhelmed. You'll handle a manageable number of tasks, and you'll get paid for it. It's not a competition, but the person who solves more cases will present their findings to the police officer to demonstrate how anyone figured out the cases.Alright, I'll accept the mission; it will still allow me time to find a job for the family we’re about to start. since you accepted the mission, we'll be meeting at an abandoned warehouse. We know we initially said to be there at eight, but could you please arrive at five in the morning instead? We need to show you our office and the gadgets, so you'll understand how to keep track of the number of missions you have each day.Max said, "Alright, okay, I'll be there. I'm going to finish more cases.”
The next morning, Max arrived at the warehouse at five o'clock. Lee and Luna then showed him everything he needed to see, including the computers where he would view his mission. He had five missions to complete, and if he didn't finish one, he wouldn't be able to proceed to the next. The next day, Max woke up at seven to arrive at the office by eight. He checked his cases and found he had five to handle. After that, he went to the rocket ships, boarded one, and started it up. The ship informed him that he would be traveling to the past, and he was sent back to the moment the crime occurred. It was a small house located under a highway. He entered quietly to avoid being seen and witnessed the events unfold. Max observed a man who was frustrated with an older woman because she wouldn’t accept him for who he was. The man became so angry that he decided to take her life. Max had a device that would ensure the woman would be alive when he returned to the present, but what the officer discovered was that she had died from a pandemic.Max had four more cases to handle. In the second case, he traveled to the future and intervened to stop someone from entering a relationship with a person who would later abuse them, leading to an incident where she would be pushed into a pool. The third case took place in the present, where an accident was about to occur in just a few minutes. It involved a pregnant woman, a single mother with no family, who was trying to reach the hospital. Max managed to prevent her from being involved in a car crash. The fourth case was set in the past, where many women had been kidnapped and raped, resulting in pregnancies from their abusers. Max identified the names of the perpetrators and their addresses, discovering that out of five suspects, only two were still alive. The explaining that Max continued to handle various cases every morning at eight and would leave by ten. It took him some time to secure a stable job, but he eventually found work as a construction worker, earning a decent income for his family. Max felt very happy with his life. Nine months later, Lilly began experiencing contractions, and fortunately, Max was there with her; they both realized it was time for their baby to be born. They arrived at the hospital the following day at 11:11 PM, where they welcomed a baby boy, whom they named Beckon. However, Lilly and Max were unaware that they were supposed to have twins—one sadly did not survive, and the other, Beckon, was revealed to be a ghost. The doctor informed them the next morning that they could go home, and everything seemed fine. They left the hospital with their newborn baby. In the first couple of weeks, everything seemed fine. Beckon wasn't a difficult baby; unlike most newborns, he was relatively easygoing. However, Lilly and Max began to notice that whenever Beckon cried—whether it was because he was hungry, needed a diaper change, or just wanted some cuddles—he would start to float a little bit. The last time he cried, he floated even higher, and at that moment, Lilly and Max realized that Beckon was part human and part ghost. Both parents were surprised but accepted it. They also started to wonder what other ghostly things they might expect to see from him. Lilly and Max were genuinely content with their lives. For Lilly, this was everything she had desired since graduating high school, while Max simply wanted the opportunity to experience life, from the smallest moments to the grandest. When their son Beckon turned one, he was already able to speak, walk, run, feed himself, and was even potty trained. Remarkably, he could also teleport and knew when to be fully be a ghost or a human. By the age of two, Beckon could move objects with his hands at the right moments and communicate with his parents telepathically. However, Lilly and Max noticed that he was somewhat delayed in speaking properly and learning the basic knowledge expected of a child his age. They decided to work with him to help him catch up. It took some time, but eventually, Beckon learned to speak correctly and understood all the simple concepts a toddler should know. The issue, however, was that he often relied on his powers to communicate with his parents instead of wanting to demonstrate things to them. Lilly and Max devoted everything to Beckon and used to take vacation trips, thanks to the gadgets his parents had built a long time ago, which made the trips easier and more enjoyable. However, since Beckon refused to communicate properly or fulfill his responsibilities as a form of punishment, they stopped going on those trips. Beckon began to notice this change but wasn't ready to address it yet. Nevertheless, he was a very intelligent boy, and by the time he turned three, he had accomplished a lot. He was already using the bathroom independently and managing many tasks on his own, which allowed him to start preschool early. Lilly and Max were thrilled but also a bit sad because, in their eyes, Beckon still seemed like a baby. A year later, Beckon began preschool, and the teachers quickly took a liking to him because, unlike the other kids, he didn't require as much discipline or potty training. Despite that, Beckon made friends and enjoyed his time at school. Lilly would pick him up and take him home, and for a while, everything was great. On his first day of making friends, Beckon met a boy named Mateo, who was sitting at the back. Every time Beckon went home, he would tell Lilly about Mateo. One day, Lilly suggested inviting Mateo over to visit, and Beckon eagerly agreed. The next day, Beckon had a wonderful time at school before heading home. When they got back, Lilly asked, "Where's your friend?" Beckon replied, "He's right here in the backseat." At that moment, Lilly realized that Beckon might have an imaginary friend. This made her a bit sad because she genuinely believed Beckon had a real friend, even if it was just at school. They went home quickly, and Beckon played with Mateo.Lilly continued with her household chores, made dinner, applied for jobs, and of course, kept an eye on Beckon as he played with his imaginary friend. This was around four o'clock in the afternoon. Later in the day, when Max came home, Beckon immediately ran to him, and Mateo did too. Max greeted Mateo, and at that moment, Lilly walked in to say hello to Max. Hearing Max say hi to Mateo, Lilly remarked, "So you've met his imaginary friend." Max replied, "What do you mean? No, he isn't!" This sparked their first argument since getting married, with both of them debating whether Mateo was real. Then Beckon said, "Mommy and Daddy, Mateo is crying." Max went over to Mateo and asked why he was upset. Mateo responded that he didn't like it when Lilly called him imaginary, and that they were fighting.Max asked Mateo if he wanted to go home, but Mateo didn't respond. Max then inquired about his parents' phone numbers, and again, Mateo remained silent. When Max asked who his mommy and daddy were, Mateo replied, "You are my daddy, and she is my mommy," referring to Lilly. Max was taken aback and asked, "What do you mean? No, we aren't. Seriously, who are your parents?" Mateo explained that Lilly and Max were his parents and added, "I'm your son too. But mommy, when you were pregnant, you were supposed to have two babies, not just one. You had a miscarriage, but that's okay because it was meant to happen. I've been watching over Beckon my whole life, and now I can be here to protect him as he starts school. The reason this happened is that Daddy is still partially a ghost, even though he is now human, so I know this is normal for the doctors." Mateo then asked, "Now do you believe me?" Throughout Mateo's conversation, Max had to translate for Lilly, who eventually started to cry. Lilly asked Max, "What should we do?" Max responded, "What do you mean?" Lilly clarified, "We have another son, but I can't see or hear him. You can, though, and Beckon." He suggested, "What if we try using the gadget again?" Lilly replied, "No, we can't do that because it's been a long time since we last used it. What if it doesn't work? Or worse, what if I get used to having Mateo here, and then something happens to him like what happened to you?"Max said, "Honey, we do have another child that represents our life together. Didn't you want to share a full life with me? This is it, even if our child believes it was meant to be. I want to hold our child. Don't you?" Lilly replied, "Of course I do, but I’m worried about the worst happening.”
Lilly asked, "So what do we do now?" Max replied, "I still believe in the gadget." Lilly responded, "Alright, but if anything goes wrong, I'm going to hold you responsible. I guess you should go find it and test it out." So Max went off to locate it. Mateo said, "I'm scared." Max reassured him, "There's nothing to worry about. It's for your own good. I'm your dad now, right?” Afterward, Lilly, Max, and Beckon were relieved that Mateo was alive again. They enjoyed a family dinner together, feeling happy in each other's company. Suddenly, the phone rang, and Lilly answered it. To her surprise, it was her mother. "Mom, how are you? It's been so long since we last saw each other!" Lilly exclaimed, but her mother interrupted her, saying, "Honey, I'm sorry to cut you off, but I need to tell you that I'm in the hospital, and your father passed away a while ago." Lilly began to cry uncontrollably and quickly hung up the phone. She told her family, "We need to pack up and leave right now!" Before hanging up, she asked her mom where she was, staying she was on her way. Lilly then explained to the others what had just happened. They all traveled to San Diego, California, to the hospital where Lilly's mom was. Within just a few hours, her mom's condition worsened, so Lilly stayed at the hospital, spending every hour, minute, and second by her side. She talked to her mom, saying, "I'm so sorry, Mom. I never meant to not call or text you." Her mom responded, "No, sweetheart, it was your father and my fault. We forgive you." In the meantime, Max entertained Mateo and Beckon by taking them out to eat and visiting the park and beach. During this time, Lilly was spending time with her mom, but sadly, her mom passed away the next morning at 3 AM. Lilly signed all the necessary paperwork and cried, feeling sad for a few days. Eventually, she organized her mom's funeral. Afterward, everyone returned home, but even though Beckon was unaware, a change was about to happen. They all returned home and had to adjust to a new routine with Mateo and Beckon. Mateo was quickly enrolled in school, and everything appeared to be going well. However, his parents began to focus more on Mateo, who was excelling academically. They even started a school for ghosts, primarily for Mateo and Beckon, but Mateo continued to outperform Beckon. Although Beckon felt a bit excluded, he didn't mind too much because he believed Beckon could accomplish a lot without causing any issues. As the years went by, Mateo and Beckon turned ten years old. Both of them were exploring new powers, but as usual, Mateo excelled while Beckon didn't mind. Now that they were ten, Beckon decided to sneak out frequently to hang out with friends and visit his crush's house. He often broke into places like swimming pools, parks, and even amusement parks and core where people could exercise and play sports. Beckon often felt excluded when Lilly, Max, and Mateo spent time together as a family. Recently, he had begun to act out at school, becoming more rebellious. Lilly and Max were starting to worry about him, but Beckon rarely opened up about his feelings. Most of the time, he stayed in his room during the day, making music and breaking things to create new items that suited his needs. His behavior was making Mateo's life miserable, as he frequently resorted to blackmail and other troubling actions. Throughout his life, Mateo has always wanted to be the best son he could be for his parents, especially since Lilly and Max were absent for a period. Now that he is part of the family, he constantly strives to impress his parents. School has also captured Mateo's interest, along with the ghosts of the school. He has always been involved in sports and staying active, often excelling when he was doing things for himself, as he preferred to achieve things independently. As usual, this had been a recurring schedule for them for many years. The boys were now teenagers, both seventeen years old. This time, Beckon decided to experiment with hard drugs, starting with nicotine and marijuana, and then seeking something stronger. Even though he was only seventeen, he began drinking as well. His parents confronted him, saying it was time to be honest about what was wrong. Beckon raised his voice, telling them, "You are the problem, Mom and Dad. Ever since Mateo joined this family a long time ago, you’ve excluded me from everything. You might say it’s my fault, but I’ve kept quiet all this time." As he cried, Max admitted, "I’m sorry I’m not the favorite child anymore; it feels like you don’t love me as much." Lilly and Max told Beckon, "Sweetheart, we have always loved you, but you seemed so distant from us, and we didn't understand why." Just as they were about to say "I love you," Beckon collapsed. An hour earlier, he had taken a dangerous pill mixed with alcohol, and now it was affecting his body. His parents rushed him to the hospital, where the doctors and nurses sadly informed them, "Mr. and Mrs. [Sims], there may not be a chance for your son to survive. He is in a coma, and his vital signs are not stable." Both Beckon's parents and his brother Mateo began to cry, coming to terms with the possibility that he might not make it. Meanwhile, while Beckon was in a coma, he found himself in another world. Although it was all in his mind, it felt very real to him. It began with him taking a walk in his thoughts; he believed he had gotten into an argument, decided to walk it off, then fell asleep somewhere and woke up now, going for a walk. One day, Beckon decided to take a walk and stopped by a coffee shop, contemplating a change in his life. Although his parents will never notice he was determined to make a difference, starting with earning his diploma, no matter what it took. Before his coma, his teachers had told him he wouldn’t graduate, not just from high school but even from middle school. The only reason he had advanced a grade was that they didn’t want to deal with him. While he was lost in thought still in a coma Beckon truly thought about what was happening. It is true a woman approached him and introduced herself as Sunday. Beckon shared his name and age, and they soon began dating. They moved in together, bought their first car, and got married. Within a year, they had four children. After their first few dates, they bought a bigger house, and Beckon felt truly happy and content with his life. However, one day, Sunday asked him to check something in the closet upstairs. As he walked into the room, he started to feel dizzy. When he opened the closet door, he was confronted with the drugs and alcohol he used to consume. He turned to Sunday and said "honey," but then collapsed on the floor. His wife and kids were around him, urging him to wake up repeatedly. Beckon finally woke up from his coma after six months. The doctor noticed this and checked on him right away, surprised to find that everything seemed fine. After two hours, they discharged Beckon from the hospital. Before leaving, he asked the doctor many questions, but the doctor had no answers and simply informed him that he had been in a coma for six months. Realizing it was all in his head, Beckon decided to leave the hospital. As he walked outside, he saw a homeless man with some drinks, took one, and finished it. He told himself that he would accomplish everything he had dreamed of, without a doubt. Then he called his parents to let them know he was out of the hospital. Years have gone by, and Beckon is happy to see his family thriving. He earned his GED and spent a lot of time making up for his past mistakes in school. He also went to college to become a therapist, or counselor. Recently, he met a young woman named Sunday, and they are now dating. The whole family has enjoyed many vacations together and spends a lot of time hanging out. Mateo graduated from high school some time ago and also went to college. It turns out Mateo prefers men, and he is now married to a young man named Travis. Both of them work as lawyers. Lilly is in charge of a shelter for homeless people, and she enjoys her various hobbies. As for Max, the time has come for him to convince the police officer about all the cases he has worked on over the years. Max went first and successfully persuaded the officer by showing him a slideshow cave of his cases. As a result, the officer decided to reward them with protection and early retirement funds. Max was thrilled and shared the news with Lee and Luna, saying, "Haha, I won! I told you so!" Lilly suggested they celebrate at home, including Luna, Lee, Beckon, and Mateo. Everything was going well, and everyone was fine, but unfortunately, the day came when Lilly and Max took their last breaths. Max passed away during the summer a couple of months ago, and Lilly followed a year later. Mateo and Beckon organized a funeral for them when Max died. After Max's passing, both of his sons received his retirement funds, and when Lilly died, she chose to give away her business to ensure they would always have financial support. Beckon and Mateo moved on with their lives, each having their own children and feeling content. They continued to spend time together and often had each other's families over to their homes.
Chapter Three
The two main characters are reborn as Molly and Jay. Molly's life is far from perfect; she is the oldest of four siblings, which includes a younger brother, a pair of twin girls, and another younger brother. The father is their primary caregiver, but he isn't always dependable. In contrast, Jay enjoys a better life, though it still has its difficulties. Molly is quiet, cheerful, and adventurous, while Jay is outgoing, smart, and very energetic.
One morning, Molly got ready for school and then went to wake her siblings so they could prepare as well. They all had to get up around four in the morning to shower, dress, eat breakfast, and finish some chores or homework before walking to school. Since her younger siblings went to different schools, Molly had to escort them. Once Molly dropped her siblings off at their school, she was able to enter on her own school. Although she hadn't always been the best child, she had consistently participated in various activities. After her mother was murdered, she realized she needed to take on more responsibility. Her mother died when Molly was eight, and her father struggled with the loss by dating two other women, resulting in the twins and another younger brother. Before turning eight, Molly played soccer, then shifted to art, and now she is involved in swimming and tennis. From ages four to seven, she was part of a glee club.
The main reason she engaged in these activities was to find her own way to cope and to have some time for herself, away from her siblings and father. Later that day, when Molly returned home, she noticed new neighbors moving in. She wanted to greet them, but her father called her in to help with dinner.
Regrettably, Molly went inside and started preparing dinner. Afterward, she made sure all her siblings finished their homework and took showers. She helped the three youngest bathe, while the second oldest handled his own shower and homework, all while Molly tidied up their home. Finally, she took a shower herself and then went to her room to study and read a book. While doing this, she spotted the boy next door looking out his window. She wrote something in her notebook and asked him what was wrong. He pulled out a piece of paper and replied, "I'm just waiting for my mom." When Molly inquired about where his parents were, he said, "My dad left us, and my mom is probably out drinking."
For a while, Molly and the boy exchanged messages. Eventually, Molly wrote in her notebook, suggesting they meet early the next morning, around three, if that worked for him. The boy responded that it was fine and introduced himself . Molly and Jay both went to bed and later woke up at three to meet in the backyard. They spent two hours getting to know each other, asking both profound and simple questions. Eventually, Molly mentioned she needed to go inside to prepare her siblings for school, and Jay said he should probably head in too. When Molly asked which school he attended, she was excited to learn that he went to JMCC as well. Jay inquired about her grade, and she told him she was in eighth grade while he was in tenth. They exchanged goodbyes, with Jay saying, "Alright, I'll see you later."
Lilly also said she would see him later. Since all of her siblings had showered and finished their homework the night before, they only needed to get dressed and leave. Just as they were about to go, Jay arrived in his car and offered them a ride to school and back, although he mentioned he would need to go to work afterward.
Jay picked them up and dropped them off at school. Molly went through her day, unaware of what was coming later. When it was time to go home, Jay quickly dropped them off and drove away. Her dad was waiting at the door and told Molly, "honey I'm sorry, but you need to stop going to school and find a job. You have to come home right away to take care of your siblings. Just work enough so you can still pick them up after school."
This led to a big argument between Molly and her dad, and she stormed off to her safe place, where she started drinking and smoking cigarettes. After a few hours, she walked home with a bottle in one hand and a cigarette in the other. At that moment, Jay appeared and immediately took the drink and cigarette from her. He began to lecture her about why it was wrong. Molly dismissed his concerns, saying it didn't matter. When Jay asked what was bothering her, they started talking, and he comforted her. Molly asked for advice, and Jay admitted he didn't have all the answers but was willing to help her as much as he could. When she questioned why he wanted to help, Jay shared that he had faced many challenges himself—his parents were often absent—and he didn't want her and her siblings to go through the same experience.
Molly expressed her determination to continue her education despite the circumstances, emphasizing the importance of both her education and personal time. She was committed to pursuing her studies. Jay agreed, recognizing the significance of education. After their conversation, Molly said goodbye to Jay and went back inside.
The next day, Molly got her siblings ready for school, just as she prepared herself. However, when her dad asked if she was going to school and she confirmed she was, they got into another argument. In a moment of anger, her dad slapped her, but Molly chose to go to school anyway and dropped off her siblings as well. Throughout the day, she struggled to focus on herself, as her mind was consumed with worries about her siblings and their future.
Jay was waiting by a tree outside for Molly. When she arrived, he asked if she needed a ride, and she agreed but had one question: when did he need to go to work? Jay replied that he had to leave in a couple of minutes but would be off around seven. Molly suggested they meet in the backyard after his shift, and he agreed. After dropping everyone off, Molly went inside, where her dad asked if she had found a job. She said no, and they ended up physically fighting again. Molly then went upstairs to pack things for her younger siblings. A few hours later, it was time for her to go back outside to meet Jay. She explained everything to him and mentioned that she needed to go to her private living space before they left Molly needed to get her younger siblings. she would be back in a couple of minutes but had to get her siblings Jay drop them off, asking Lilly if she was sure about this. She confirmed that she was.
Molly followed her dad's advice about getting a job while going to school. She often took on small jobs like babysitting, working as a part-time caregiver, and being a clerk. Molly worked as a clerk from Monday to Saturday mornings, then switched to caregiving in the afternoons, and babysat on weekends. Eventually, she was able to get a car. She maintained this schedule for three years and decided to take online classes at night when she had time, all while still caring for her siblings.
Although Molly was doing well for herself, she found herself missing Jay after their last encounter when he dropped her off. She wasn't sure if she missed him as a crush or just as a friend, but she didn't dwell on it too much. Molly was thrilled to have graduated from high school and had no desire to attend college; instead, she wanted to work as a caregiver in healthcare and take care of her siblings. Eventually, they all decided to leave their current living situation and move into a three-bedroom house with their own bathrooms and a basement. A few months later, Molly drove to her dad's place to check on her second oldest brother and see if he was still there. Fortunately, both her brother and dad were home. Initially, her brother was reluctant to talk to Molly, but he eventually opened up. They had a long conversation, and Molly asked him if he would like to move in with her and their siblings, assuring him that they were living in a better place. After some consideration, he agreed, and they both drove away to their new home, leaving their dad behind.
Molly tidied up and prepared dinner as usual, getting the three youngest siblings ready for bed. She then asked her second oldest brother to look after them for a bit, assuring him she would be back soon. After he agreed, Molly drove to Jay's place and knocked on the door. He greeted her with a smile and invited her in. They spent some time talking and drinking wine, sharing tears and enjoying each other's company. Before Molly left, Jay expressed his desire to stay in touch, to which she agreed. When she returned home, she went straight to bed and had a dream about a little girl with blonde hair talking to a little boy with brown hair. It felt as if she was experiencing the little girl's life, and Jay was having a similar experience.
In Jay's dream, he often experienced life as the boy, a phenomenon that occurred frequently for a couple of months without disrupting their daily lives, though it felt strange to both him and Molly. One Saturday, they decided to spend the day at the park, where they enjoyed talking, eating, and playing like kids. After some time on the playground, they sat down again to chat, and Molly shared her thoughts about her dreams. Although it was unusual, Jay understood exactly what she meant. As they leaned back against a tree, contemplating the significance of their experiences, they suddenly felt a jolt. For a brief moment, they found themselves living as the girl and boy from a past life. Then, just as quickly, they returned to their own bodies, both realizing that they had shared a connection from a previous existence.
Molly and Jay were unsure about many things at first, but they eventually realized they were meant to be together. They became a couple and later formed a family that included all of Molly's siblings, with Jay stepping into the role of their stepfather. A few months later, they decided to get married and soon welcomed four children together. Their first pregnancy resulted in twin girls, followed by another set of twin boys. Tragically, Molly's father passed away, while Jay had faced his own hardships; his parents had both left him when he was sixteen. His mother chose to leave for another man, leaving Jay alone, and his father ended up in prison for being a serial killer. This revelation about his father's actions deeply affected Jay, but he was determined to rise above his circumstances. He graduated from high school and even completed a short college course to become a lawyer, ultimately finding stability and contentment in his life.
In the end, everyone was content with one another. Molly and Jay feel that nothing could improve their lives further; they are satisfied with their current situation and cherish their family bond, supporting one another. Jay is also a wonderful stepfather to Molly's younger siblings and excellent father to their kids.
The end
