There was chaos.
Evidence of this chaos was left in the room.
Broken glass, shredded cloth, a spilled cup.
The door opened.
A handsome man entered and seen the state of this simple room with a chair, a desk, and a large bed.
He was on the second floor looking down at the pit where a creature was lying perfectly still.
Wearing a long dark blue dress there rested a woman. She had her eyes closed. She looked peaceful.
Long black hair and thin eyebrows. Pink lips.
She was like a picture of beauty.
The woman opened her eyes. She glared at the man with cold blue eyes.
“Another day you wear a human face.”
That was all she said.
Slowly, the woman sat up and rubbed her eyes. After a minute of silence, she then proceeded to clean the mess she made.
It gave her something to do.
There was not a lot she could do in this room.
Once she finished, the woman sat by her window and looked out.
A black sky with a few twinkling stars.
She knew they were moving to another solar system. The planets and moons they passed were evidence of that.
Nothing particular about the inky sky made her feel better. It was rather lonely.
The woman widened her eyes suddenly aware of a shift in the silence.
Holding her breath the woman watched as the handsome man continued to watch her with a stern eye. She could see him in the reflection of the window.
She didn’t notice it moments before, but he was actively watching her with an intense gaze.
He always looked down at her. Always.
It was strange.
She could feel something hot on her skin. His stare.
There was something he wanted. Something he craved. His focused stare made it impossible to look at him too long. It was unnerving. Every part of her body was reluctant to be near him.
She sensed the danger. He was arrogant. That much was clear.
He kept himself above her. His golden brown eyes soaking her with his contempt.
He seemed mad at her at times and at other moments he appeared to be studying her with mild contemplation.
The woman leaned her head to the wall and focused on being positive.
It was months after the invasion.
Her home was gone.
This man took her before the planet was destroyed.
It would be nice to think that he saved her, but there was no real reason to trust him because of that.
This creature, would be a more accurate description of him.
Somehow it was obvious that his appearance of a human man was not actually of a human. He was much too quiet and calculating for any normal man. Not to mention, he was far too handsome.
Should that be something positive?
Her eyes could look at his perfection each and every day, right?
No.
If anything, then it only made her more wary of him.
He was doing everything he could to make her comfortable.
He fed her, kept her in a comfortable room with a rather large bed, she had a nice dress to wear (though it revealed all of her back and was rather tight around her slim waist), he offered her pen and paper and other items to distract herself with.
But why? What was the point of all this?
Was it merely good will?
Touching her throbbing head, the woman sighed.
At least she was alive. That was a positive thing.
Peeking from the corner of her eye, the woman looked at him.
He was still watching her. Except this time he looked a bit concerned.
Removing her hand from her head the woman blinked.
This wasn’t the first time he looked concerned. It only happened when she got lost in her own thoughts of fear and worry.
He left immediately.
The woman flinched.
“No… please don’t… not again.”
This could only mean one thing.
He was going to examine her on a table to find out why she was touching her head. He did this every so often when she did something that he did not understand.
Something so silly as touching her head or rubbing her elbow could trigger this event.
The room began to fill up with a sweet smelling gas.
At the same time a purple moon was passing by. It’s was so bright that pink rays beamed it’s way into the room. Everything was now a misty pink.
Covering her nose and mouth with her dress, the woman sank to the ground.
Flushing the woman began coughing.
“No, I’m fine!” She said loudly, “just leave me be!”
The examination was unbearable.
She was both asleep and awake.
Nothing happened, and it went by reasonably quickly, but his face was always-
After fifteen minutes the woman was completely unconscious.
A panel door opened and in he came.
He placed the woman in his arms and caressed her face. He looked carefully at her head, the spot she touched to be precise, and frowned.
Picking her up, he left the room.
