"What a boring life..."
The two of them said at the same time.
They look at each other with confusion.
The boy looks at the girl beside him.
The girl pays for the food she ordered before looking at him as well.
"Young boy..." She said. "What~"
"I think we're just the same age, miss."
The boy raises an eyebrow as he stares closely towards the girl.
The girl smiles at him, "Alright. And you are?"
"Why would I tell you?" He said coldly.
"Well...Just making short-time friends? I don't have any friends as of this moment since...life is short for everyone else."
The girl smiles sadly.
"Kairos..." He answered. "Not worth remembering."
"Amara..."
She invites Kairos to sit wit her. "Would you like to talk about how boring life is?"
Amara is very weird. She talks like an old lady.
"Amara... Since it's just a first time-last time encounter, I'll consider talking to you..." Kairos answered coldly.
They sit facing each other.
"Just think that I am one of those crazy people you met before..." Kairos said before drinking the coffee he ordered.
"Hahaha! Alright! Then, I can be one of those weird people you met before as well!" Amara replied cheerfully.
"I am from the far future. The days and years after now and then..." said Kairos.
"I am immortal. I already lived for hundreds of years..." said Amara.
They look at each other as if meeting someone with a mental problem.
Kairos laugh for the first time. "Really?"
Amara falls into a deep thought upon hearing what he said.
"Future? Do you mean the days after tomorrow?"
Kairos nods proudly. "I am more believable than you... I came to visit this era because I am from a family of historians. We are observing the past."
"Oh... Though your simple explanation appears to be hard for me, I kind of understand what you mean." Amara looks at him more seriously. "But I am telling you the truth! I am incredibly OLD!"
Kairos looks at her with doubt. "Proof?"
"Well.... Uh..." Amara seems to have a hard time thinking on what she could do to believe her.
"I happen to drink the water from the Fountain of Youth. At first, I don't know that it has the ability to extend my life while remaining young. I just keep on drinking in the same fountain whenever I run away from home with...my childhood friend."
Kairos looks at her, "The historians in our era wasn't able to meet anyone who claims that the Fountain of Youth exist. Though there are people who did, but they are unable to prove it. They are fake."
"Then, what's the condition in proving it?" Amara asked.
"Meeting each other again in a different era or timeline. To make it simple, we need to meet again in the same place after hundreds or thousands of years." Kairos explained.
Amara looks down sadly.
"That's...difficult... I finally meet you...why would I wait and suffer for hundreds years..."
"Because you're lying?" He mocked her. "And...don't talk as if you're expecting to meet me. We don't even know each other."
"Lots of things happen from time to time. Kairos...I am just physically immortal. I am not invincible." Amara said softly not saying anything about meeting him again.
Kairos stands, "Then...too bad... Let's now end this nonsense."
Amara sighed, "It's not even my responsibility to prove anything to you... You've changed. So be it."
Before Kairos could leave, she adds, "Staying alive for hundreds and thousands of years is difficult. I have a long life, but I can be killed. I could die at any moment. That's why I said what I said earlier."
"Why don't you just let yourself get killed? Your life is boring. If your life is endless, just end it on your own." Kairos replied heartlessly.
Amara goes silent.
"Anyway...I need to go now... I hope not to meet you again." Kairos said with a proud smile.
As Kairo slowly vanishes, he somewhat hears Amara said for the last time, "You already forgot about the past. They took you from me... I waited for a very very long time just to meet you again. All those hardships... Witnessing the people around me die in old age right before my eyes. Then... here you are... Asking me to throw away my life. How heartless you've become..."
