In 1627, India, it has been ruled by Muslim sultanates such as Mughal empire, Bijapur sultanate, Ahmednagar sultanate, Golconda sultanate, Bidar sultanate. Whereas Goa is ruled by Portugal. The Muslim sultanates also included Hindus in their army. The Muslim sultanates also broke temples, looted temples, and tortured people and also looted people. The Hindus have to pay tax for pilgrimage. On 1630, in shivneri fort which is in jannar,Maharastra, son of Shahaji an Bijapur solider, Shivaji Bhonsale was born. In Shivaji’s childhood, Jijabai, his mother taught Shivaji about hindu stories like Ramayana and Mahabharata. Whereas, Dadoji kondev taught Shivaji to use weapons. His father Shahaji was a soldier of bijapur Sultanate. So he stays busy in serving the sultan of Bijapur. In the age of 15, Shivaji built an army with the help of farmers and peasants. He also conquered torna fort, chakan fort, Kondan fort by defeating Adil shahi commanders. After that he conquered thane fort,bhiwandi fort,kalyan forts with the help of abaji sondhev by defeating Mullah Ahmed. By seeing the rise of Shivaji, Adil shah arrested his father in 1648. Due to this Shivaji didn’t attack Adil shah in front for seven years. He kept concentrating in strengthen his army and conquered 40 Forts. He built a huge army which was commanded by Netaji Palker and infantry by Yesaji. To stop Shivaji , the begum of Bijapur send Afzal Khan with 10,000 soliders to destroy shivaji. Afzal khan was known for his strength and brutality. He also broke many temples to make Shivaji angry. That time Shivaji was in pratapgarh fort. Afzal Khan decided to kill Shivaji in Pratapgarh fort secretly. He told Shivaji there will be no weapons between us. But both brought weapons, Shivaji covered him with armor and in his hand was a tiger claw (Bagh Nakh) and Afzal khan had a knife. Afzal khan gave Shivaji a hug and hold him very tightly and take out his knife and stab him in his back but as Shivaji has a armor so he didn’t got hurt, after that Shivaji took out his tiger claw and stab in Afzal khan’s back.After killing Afzal khan, He killed all the soliders of Afzal khan.After the death of Afzal khan , Adil shah was very shocked . Adil shah sent the Rustum zaman to kill Shivaji. But Rustum zaman got defeated. After that Adil shah sent siddhi Johar to kill Shivaji. That time shivaji was at panhala fort. Siddhi johar covered the fort. Then Shivaji called Siddhi johar in his fort and sent a letter to Adil shah and told him that siddhi johar is a traitor. After that Adil shah kept quarreling with Siddhi johar. While Shivaji escaped from panhala fort with 5000 soliders. Baji prabhu Deshpande guarded them with 300 men. When Baji prabhu deshpande when he heard sound of canons. The sound of canons means that Shivaji successfully reached Vishalgarh fort. But Baji Prabhu deshpande sacrificed his life. After that Adil shah requested Aurangzeb to send shiatsa khan with 150,000 soldiers. Shiatsa khan conquered pune and started living in Lal Mahal. Shivaji disguised as a wedding husband with his solider and attacked at Lal mahal. While Shiatsa Khan tried to run from Lal mahal. Shivaji cut his finger, Shiatsa Khan losted his finger as well as his respect. After that Shivaji conquered Surat , an important place for trade. Aurangzeb sent Mirza raja jay singh to defeat Shivaji. In the battle of Purander, He defeated Shivaji and took his 23 forts and arrested him but Shivaji escaped from the prison and extended his kingdom in 1670. Aurangzeb sent Dawood khan and Mohobat khan to kill Shivaji, but they got defeated. In 1672, Adil shah died of illness and Shivaji became the king in 26 June 1674. In 1680, Shivaji died of illness
