I woke up with a headache. I looked around me.
"Why am in hospital?" I asked myself while rubbing my head.
Slowly, memory started forming in my mind. Yesterday, I got into major accident and now I am in hospital. I sat on bed with bit effort.
"Why are you sitting, Agent Ivy? You haven't recovered yet." Angry voice boomed in entrance. I looked at the source. A handsome, well-built sexy man was standing infront of me. I cursed myself for drooling over him again. I straightened myself and said, "I am fine, it's just a small accident."
As I looked above his head, I saw a timer in white colour. I was shocked. Before agent Robert could say something,
I blurted, "What's that on your head? What timer is it?"
For a second, he looked above and then looked at me seriously. He sighed and called doctor. I could see the timer in blue color on his head but I kept quiet. I don't want to make fool of myself but kept thinking about that.
I got discharged at 6 pm. Waiting for my cab to arrive but Agent Robert came to pick me up. I was curious how he know when I get discharged. Suddenly I remembered that we work in the same agency so they have sent him to pick me. Or it was his choice to pick me? We were in car but I was still in deep thoughts. I looked out of window and wondered about the timer. In those thoughts i forgot to check his timer again but when we reached the base I noticed the timer was down to 4 minutes 4:00, 3:59, 3:58.... and was going on decreasing. My brain was clouded with millions of possibilities.
After 4 minutes which seemed like forever, the timer ended to 0:00. Agent Robert tripped on his own shoe laces while walking towards me. He got up feeling bit embarassed.
Suddenly, a new timer occurred with red colour. It's was 24:00:00, 24 hrs. I sat down on the chair. I started panicking. But there was no time for that. "Think Ivy think something"
"Red means danger. Does that mean Agent Robert is in some danger? No, please I don't want him to hurt. I...I.. I love him a lot eventhough we are just partners for various missions. Eventhough he doesn't care. Arghh!!! I need to do something." (in mind)
I started panicking.
"Agent Robert, What are you going to do tomorrow at this hour?" I asked him.
"Um.. I guess I will search clues regarding Mr. Zeke's case. I found few eye witnesses. I guess I will uh interrogate them." He said looking at me.
"Come with me to uh.. um cafe... Cafe Paradise. I uh.. seem to have lead regarding the missing girl Miss. Ember's case." I told in hurry and left before he can reject the offer.
~ NEXT DAY ~
I walked into cafe all worried and tesnsd. I can see timers over every person's head with different color. I need to figure out what all the color meant. I looked at Agent Robert. He was wearing white shirt making him look all sexy and hot. I sat on chair.
"Tell me Ivy, what leads you have?" Agent Robert asked.
I turned cold. I looked at him and told him that I need to catch breath. I successfully wasted an hour. Now the timer decreased to 6 minutes. Agent Robert was almost frustrated because I would avoid his question with other stuffs.
"Ivy, I am not staying here one more minute. Let's go and interrogate those eye witnesses. They live nearby." Agent Robert said.
I froze. I don't want him to be in any danger. I sighed. I promised myself that I will protect him if there's any danger. We sat on his bike and he took us to hotel. I looked at him confused but he signalled to follow. He told me that the eye witnesses are scared to meet in their houses.
We walked up on staircase. We reached the top most floor and took left. Before I could open door, someone wrapped my eyes with hand. I could hear Robert groaning in pain. I got scared and numb. I was so scared of loosing Robert that I couldn't move or fight back. The guy took me in room and the removed his hand. It took a while to adjust my eyesight. I looked around the room. It was beautifully decorated with red flowers, candles n fairy lightings. I, myself was standing in middle of heart made with petals on floor.
I turned back in awe and saw Robert smiling at me. The timer on his head turned to 0:00. I got scared again and started looking everywhere to search danger lurking amidst the decoration
"Ivy, I love you a lot. I don't know when i fell for you but I know one thing for sure. I love you and I want you in my future as my life partner. Would you be my girlfriend?" Robert said while kneeling to ground and holding rose.
I became suprised and happy. I took the rose shyly and blused while saying yes. Robert got up and hugged me tightly. I felt warm.
So, the timer in red colour was not danger but a love confession. I smiled at my stupidity.
