I have an amazing robot.
It could cook and clean the house.
It chats with me and knows how to express emotions like a human. It's perfect. A complete replica of my deceased boyfriend.
Till one day...
It... Well, he told me, "Actually, I'm a human being."
...
I step backwards after hearing him say that. Impossible. He's just a robot. My boyfriend already died a year ago and he sent me this robot to take his place. It also came with a letter written by him.
The robot, whom I named after my boyfriend "Darell", gives me an unknown smile.
"Darell...No...Who are you? You're not HIM. My boyfriend...He's..."
Dead.
But, why are they so similar with each other.
"Darius..." He said softly. "I'm your boyfriend, right?"
"No, you're not!" I shouted.
"What? We chat. We hug. We kiss. We live in the same house." Darius smiles at me.
His words make me blush upon realizing all those moments we did together. Whenever I get drunk, I do sorts of things like hugging and kissing him.
Darius chuckles. "So...now... Why don't you just accept the fact that I am real and we can be together until death."
I frown at him. "You don't know me and I don't even know you."
"We've already spent a year together. We knew each other already." He smiles cheekily.
"THE REAL YOU..." I emphasize. "I acted in that way because I consider you..."
"as your boyfriend's substitute?" He added. "I will give you a lifetime offer."
He whisphers slowly, "I can be your substitute boyfriend forever."
I didn't answer. This man is insane...
Darius walked closer to me until he's able to pin me against the wall. Then, he gives me a light kiss on my forehead.
"Darell might not be here anymore, but it doesn't mean that he's already gone."
He takes my hands and presses it against his chest.
"He's here with us... He'll always be."
