"I need money, are you coming or not"
"I have gun with me to scare them away" I told my husband.
"Are you crazy? We'll be caught" He argued.
"Not if they're too terrified for what I'm gonna do" I assured him.
"And how exactly are you gonna get into a bank?" He asked.
I didn't give an answer. It seemed like we'd reached our destination. The old building had been abandoned. A sign reading "WELCOME TO THE CLOSED RANKS" was all that remained of the original sign.
Taking my gun from it's holder, I approached one of the windows. Peering inside, I noticed there wasn't much to see. No one was sitting behind the counter. Just a few desks littered throughout. The place looked deserted. With no way of getting to it, I turned to my partner.
"How do I get in?" I asked.
He just smirked and motioned me forward.
I took another look around the room before moving towards the front door. Taking the handle, I slowly opened it... but as soon as it hit the floor, I heard loud footsteps outside.
"You can't leave us here!" One man screamed.
I glanced back at my partner who looked very amused by this.
"Get out now" I whispered.
The next thing I knew, I heard my partner running upstairs.
Once he reached the first floor, he ran down the hall and hid behind a nearby office. As soon as he disappeared, I pulled open the door slightly. The sound of footsteps stopped. My heart rate picked up as I waited. A second later, I slipped inside and closed the door behind me. I quickly looked at the clock hanging on the wall. 12:04. Not wasting any time, I began searching through the cabinets for cash. Finding what I was looking for, I took the envelope containing $50,,000 in the safe hidden in between two file cabinets. Satisfied with the job, I made my way downstairs.
"Hey! What are you doing!" A man shouted from across the room.
Before I could even turn to face him, a bullet came flying over my head, narrowly missing me.
"Run!" My partner yelled from upstairs.
Shit!
Without thinking twice, I raced up the stairs and burst into my partner's room. He had the gun ready.
"Ready?" I whispered.
He nodded and fired his gun. The sound echoed through the empty halls and floors.
We were hiding in the bathroom, waiting until the coast was clear.
Suddenly, someone screamed. The sound was muffled since it was below us, but it still scared the shit out of me.
"What if they come up here? They won't know we're up here" I mumbled.
"We're fine, I got us covered." My partner replied confidently.
I nodded once more and grabbed the small bag holding the cash.
The alarm bell rang, and in no minute the echo of bells were all over the society.
People came out of their houses and police also came.
There were gunshots. Screams. People ran. And so did the cops.
The two people from which we were hiding, were screaming loudly.
"GET OFF! GET OFF ME!" the man yelled.
We were still in the bathroom, Don't know what to do.
" We are in a mess now"
"Yeah. Yeah, I know". I answered.
He sighed.
"Well, I guess this is where you go now..."
I bit my lip and stared at the ground.
"Go ahead, I don't really wanna see your corpse when you die".
"Thanks", I said sarcastically.
After a moment of silence, he spoke again.
"Wait! Do you think... we could make it out alive?!"
I laughed.
We both jumped over the window
sill and onto the street. Cars were honking their horns but none of those idiots seemed to care.
As fast as we could run, we ended up at the train station. Running down the street and into an empty car, we took a seat. Once we were seated, we sat in silence.
This is what I love about him...
His constant presence.
That stupid ass smile...
Those eyes that I couldn't stand to look away from...
God help me, but there's nothing I wouldn't do for him.
He looks back at me and smiles.
"Let's get going"
