Once there was a girl in an old orphanage. She's neither attractive nor remarkable compared to other kids. She's just like a plain little girl who only knows how to do petty things.
That's my first impression of her...
The first time I met her was the day when I moved in. All of them acted on their own ways; some ignored me; and few peered with curiosity.
Then, there was her. She's just looking down at the younger kids as if they are her responsibilities. Those kids clinged as if they are too scared to lose her.
Unexpectedly, as if she has a very strong instinct, she lifted her head and caught me staring. I quickly looked away afraid of getting drown deep within those almond-shaped crimson eyes.
They started introducing themselves. I found out that she's only 10 years old, and that it's been five years since she was brought here.
Five years?
Maybe, no one dares to adopt someone like her. Who knows... There's a devil behind that innocent face.
As the time passed by, I started to get familiar with each one of them, especially her. I began to see the truth behind her actions.
Those kids who keep clinging on her begged her to stay and to not let herself get adopted before them. They don't want to be left alone, uncared for.
Everytime there's someone who'll get interested in adopting her, she'll do her best to leave a bad impression. She will turn herself into a complete idiot, acting stupid, illiterate, or useless just to make them regret choosing her.
Days turned to weeks...
Weeks turned to years...
She's already twelve, and I'm sixteen.
Two years had passed, and she's the one who's left alone. Those selfish kids who keep clinging on her were gone. They were already adopted except for her.
One night, I heard her talking to miss~
Miss~ She's telling her to behave so that she won't end up alone when everybody else gets adopted.
"I'm never alone."
She said that softly.
"My twin sister is always with me."
Miss~ just stared at her sadly, and gestured her to leave.
Instead of returning to her room, she went outside carrying a lamp with her. It was dark and gloomy. I followed her quickly until she reached a tomb made of stones. She just sat there quietly.
"It's you."
She said out-of-the-blue.
"I know you are there."
I flinched. She knew that I've been following her since earlier, so I don't have any choice but to show myself.
In just a blink of an eye, I could feel her arms wrapped around me. The girl who used to be expressionless was embracing me as she cried quietly.
I didn't move, even an inch, and just let her cry.
"Why are you always there?"
"You act as if you don't care but you always appear whenever I need help."
"Tell me..."
Astounded upon knowing that she notice such things I didn't notice myself. I stared down at her slowly wrapping my arms around her small body.
"Because you're annoying..."
After a few moment, she stopped crying and raised her head to look at me. My heart started beating fast when I saw her smile for the first time.
"Then, let it be..."
After saying that, she raised her arms wrapping them around my neck; burying her face towards my shoulders. I felt her warm breath blowing against my skin. I wasn't able to control myself that time and ended up giving her a light kiss on her head. She hugged me tighter as if she doesn't want to let go. That moment brought us closer to each other.
But...
The day has come when we needed to part ways. Once again, she went back to what she was like before. Expressionless.
I promised her that once I am capable enough, I will find her; We'll be together again.
You'll probably ask me why I would waste my time to someone like her. The answer is none of your business.
Years passed by...
I've finally found her...
Now that the time has come, I can do whatever I want. I'll definitely take back what's originally mine.
That man...
I befriended him because he has a connection to her. Who would have thought that he ended up liking my girl.
My girl~
We met before, but she seems to forget about me. She'll remember me one day. I'll make her remember.
My bestfriend~
Once she remembers me, she'll probably forget those useless feelings she had towards you. Those feelings are for me afterall. She just sees you as me because you are the one who's present. And now that I'm here, you must keep on your pathetic mind that she's mine...
"She'll never be yours..."
