MEETING YOU IS A GIFT
"June thats the curse day for me," kris answered, this is his first day in senior high, and the very first question he got asked is,.
"What is your most favorite month and why,"
Everyone looked at him,
He just smiled and stayed silent, its true his favorite month is june, cause it leave deep impression to him,
After the class if over kris walked out of the room and head to the cafeteria, he look every where and find a table thats no one seating,
he ordered his food and start to eat, as he was eating a young man came to him, seat next to him,
"why are you seating here," kris asked the young man,
He smiled and just eat, kris look at him and then his food, he smiled,
After they finished eating, they return to class,in the hall way the young man intruduced himself,
"I'm Akiko, " he said and leave,
After the class end kris return home, when he arrived his family is already eating, his mother look at him and then continue eating, her father didnt even bother to asked him to eat, her sister wanted to invite him but he walk upstairs and locked himself,
He is used to his families treatment towads him, his mother hate herself for having him, her father did not want him, his sister just keep quiet,
He look at the picture next to his table its his grandma and grandpa, the only people that love him unfortunately they died in old age,
An hour later he walked downstairs, he is sure that his family is asleep already, he got in the kitchen and look for something to eat but there is none, the cupboard is locked, the ref is locked, nothing can be eaten.........the only thing left is a left over,
He walk back to his room, the airconditioner is off, its very hot, but he could do nothing about it,
he fall asleep, with empty stomuch, the next morning his room bang open, and standing next to it is his father, he grab his collar,
"you wake up so late, who will wash the dishes, who will cook, your sister is already late for school, waiting for you to wake up, you bastard," his father yelled,
Kris just keep quiet, bearing everything ,
he got to the kitchen and cooked for them,
After they left his mother warned him not to touch anything in there house,
He is heartbroken, but no one would talk to him, he want to left but they were the only family he has left,
he nodded to his mother,
Its MAY 29 he looked at the calendar, that day will be coming soon, he thought as he run his finger in the calendar and then stop at june,
He smiled bitterly,
He pack up and went to school, when he arrived everybody is looking at him, some are lauging while other is gossiping,
"Look at this bastard," he is thick skin staying at his fathers house, even when his father didnt want him,"
"I remember that he used to work at a store but got fired because he stole something,"
"really is that true,"
" ofcourse,"
everybody is gossiping about him, but he still keep quiet,
Someone patted his shoulder, he turn to that person and found akiko,
"ohh,my why would akiko befriend with a bastard like him," someone gasp
"hey, bitch why dont you try to asked yourself, why you were born tha ugly," akiko said while laughing, that girl turn to cry,...
This is the first time someone, speak for him,
Akiko look at him and smile brightly,
They walked together, akiko keep on talking and kris just reply with nod or hmm...
"hey, you already know my name, why dont you tell me yours hmm,,," akiko said
"Kris," he answer,...
"just kris? akiko asked
"hmmm," kris answered with a nod
"ohhh...well then kris, lets be friend," akiko said outloud and turn to leave,
For the first time other than his grandma and grandpa who died, akiko is the person that make him feel warm in heart,
MAY 30
Akiko brought alot of food and seat next to him.....
"You know if you keep silent just like that, i'm gonna kiss you," akiko laugh
"hmm...you cant kiss a man," kris answer
"well no one knows," he laugh again as he glance at kris, kris is skinny but his skin is naturally smooth and soft,
"hmm" kris just answer that made akiko look at him dazely, even though his skinny no one can deny the fact that kris is a handsome man, but the only thing that seems off is his pale face,
kris feel tingle in his heart........
"how about you come with me in my mothers villa," akiko suggested,
"i have a matter to attend," kris said, he dont want to leave home without his fathers consent cause if he do that would bring him trouble,
"i already asked your parent and they said yes," akiko said as he put the food in his mouth, there is some food in his lips that akiko cant see...
"why would you do that," kris said and move his hand to remove the food in akiko's mouth,
Akiko got stuned by that action, but also feel happy for some unknown reason,
He didnt know why but being with kris makes him satisfied even if he had nothing,
"so your coming with me," akiko said and hold kris's hand,
"hmm," he said and smile, he wanted to cherish this moment, he wanted to be happy for once......
"the how about we leave this sunday june 3," akiko said happily,
Kris did not answer,
"i have something to do that time," kris answered seriously,
"Aww...how about monday then,"
"i cant, how about tomorrow, if your not that busy, yes?" kris said
akiko look at kris, he know kris is hiding something, what if that day kris would another man, he need to be with kris this whole week, akiko thought,
Just thinking of kris meeting other man, made drown in jealousy, he look at kris then grab his wrist...
" hmm...? kris look at him, which made akiko even frustrated
"okay lets go tomorrow," he finally said,
"lets pack things up- akiko did not finished his word when kris phone rang, this phone he owned by his own money, which one of his treasure,
the caller is unknow, but kris know well who this is, his pale face became paler,...
akiko grab his phone and about to answer when kris stop him, he already answer the phone,
"Hello kris," a gently man voice sounded, he hurriedly put the phone in his ear and walked in a place where no one is........
Akiko's face became dark, he will die in jealousy if didnt know who that person is, how dare he call kris by his name, why is his voice so gently and why would kris leave him, just to answer that call,
After a while kris return and grab his bag, he look at akiko whose face is as fierce as beast,
"lets go to the place you said on sunday," kris said as he arranged his things
"i want to go there now," akiko said, and stared at him shaply..he didnt know why but he it feels like someone just stole him something important..
"why would you change your mind,"
"i change my mind because i want to, so dont leave lets pack our luggage," he said and grab kris in the arm,
ok" kris smiled and answer...
After a moment, they arrived at kris house, his parents was there kris was packing his not so many clothes when his dad come in,
"you think that boy really want to get close to you for real, everyone know how that boy mind changes, a bastard like you will never have any friends, why dont you just die," his father said casually....
kris look at him, his father, he nodded his head..
"dont worry, what you wish has already happen,"
"if ever dad, i die would you finally see me as son, ever since i was born, you didnt even call me your son, your words if fiercer than a knight cutting me into pieces not leaving a room for me to fix ," he said and walk out, his father was stuned,
before he could answer they alread left....
they were in the rood when akiko put his arm around his waist and then asked
"who is that man that called you just now, his voice is gently" akiko asked looking away,
"yeah, his voice is indeed nice, which makes the who heard his voice him fall" kris answer honestly...akiko's grip became tigher...
"really can that voice make you fall to," he said and bit his ear..
"hmm..." he nodded not noticing akiko's dark glommy eyes he gritted his teeth and look at kris ready to devour him..
"i asked you who is that man, is he your lover," akiko accused, just thinking about kris being with another man make him loss his self
They arrived at the villa near the beach..
MAY 31
this villa looks expensive,
after they arrived the maid walked them to there.room...akiko insisted on sleeping with him, which kris cant say no cause he is just a guess.
akiko bring him, to eat food he never tried, they were in the beach the whole day..
they do a lot of water activities...
its already dawn when they stop....
akiko walk to him and grab his waist...and seal his lips
kris was stuned but he still responded to akikos kiss
they return to the villa and had dinner
in the middle of the night kris cough blood..
he is looked at the blood in his hand and smiled wash them away as if nothing happen....
JUNE 1,
Akiko cooked for the both of them, which warm his heart...
He feed akiko with his favorite adobo and then eat akiko's heart beat faster...
They didnt to anything but just walked on the beach..
"when my grandma was still alive, she used to wish to go to beaches, and travel," kris open a conversation
"why didnt he go," akiko asked as he leaned his head on kris shoulder
"she is very busy taking care of my grandpa who is sick," he said and look at the sand in his feet...
" why dont you go travel for him, your still young," akiko said smilling
"then i would come with yout wherever you are," akiko added
"i want to," he said softly
"then lets plan for it, " he said jumping,
He smiled at the third person who could bring him warm and peace....
If only, if only he meet this person earlier that would be fun, his body becaming week as second past by...his body is counting did he,
"Akiko, ha called
"what, he answer
"nothing," he laugh, he wanted to say something but he cant, not now..
lets sleep for now...
JUNE 2
Kris feel sore all over his body, he look at akiko who is naked next to him,
he smiled ang kiss akiko on the forhead....
he walked to the kitchen and cooked food his cooking skill is not the best but surelynot bad...
a minute later, adobo, sinigang, toarst bread, egg and milk is ready...
Akiko walked in half naked..he look at kris back and remember what happen that night...
they eat together and chated, they stayed home the whole and did nothing but sleep embracing each other, feeling each others warmth,
Kris body became weak that just standing up make him dazy...
his coughing of blood happen frequently
he sigh and look at the sleeping akiko...
She continue his sleep
JUNE 3
Akiko found out that tomorrow will be kris's birthday...
he is happy cause he want to be the first to greet him...
he walked in there room and found kris reading a book in the bed while wearing a glasses
He noticed that as day goes by kris face became so pale,
"why didnt you said that tomorrow will be your birthday.." akiko said ang hug his waist
kris pause his heartache he tried his best to forget about that day coming.....he closed his eyes and look at akiko hugging him...
i forgot " he answered
"hmmm,,," akiko nodded..
"by the way may i asked why when a teacher asked you what month is your favorite you said june," he asked not asking why he called it curse month for him
"nothing," he answered in dazed.
"tonight lets go stargazzing hmm..." he asked akiko,
"yes, whatever you want," he answered
they eat together and walked in the beach kris see a store that sell things that can gift to someone...
He see a wooden airplane its design are cute, he buy one,
At night 10 pm
they set up a blanket and some food, thay were in the beach were the star is so dazzling beautiful...
Kris's breath became slow and heavy...akiko did not notice
when akiko finished setting up he seat next to kris...
"You know i planed to go to china when i have enough money," kris started
"you can still go right," akiko said
" did you know why i hate June,"
"why,"
"because that month i was born, my dad wasn't there after i was born my mom left to my grandma and grandpa, they were the only person that love me truly,"
"i love you," akiko said looking at kris eyes,
Kris smiled as he cares akiko's handsome face, tears flowing
"Thank you,
"thank you for being with me, i realised i haven't thank you what good things you done to me, "
"Today will be our last day seeing each other, i want you to know that meeting you is the greatest thing i ever had," he said as he looked at akiko's pained face...
his hand became cold
"the doctor called me lastime asking me to go to the hospital, but i dont want to, i was born with heart failure," take out that wooden airplane and give it to akiko...
"i'm sorry i'm not wealthy enough to buy you the real one," he laugh his laugh is full of love and satisfaction,
"i'm not a kind of greedy person who want more, but for the first time i wish to meet to earlier," kris hands starting to loss strength akiko was in panicked and want to go to thw hospital to treat him, but kris stop him.
"i'm so happy akiko, cause you made me change my view towards the world, could you do me a favor, could you asked my dad to bury me beside my grandma and grandpa, atleast i will be with then in the other life..." kris lean his head on akikos shoulder, he hold his hand and looked at the beautiful sky...
"thank you," he said as he closed his eyes, in tiredness that cant be explained,
"I LOVE YOU," before he lost his breath he said that three word,
"your so unfair you know," akiko said as he look at the same sky..
"all my life i never wanted something, that can make me give up everything just to have you," he said "the first time i meet you, you said that june was the worst month,now i think the same to cause that month made me loss something i can never retrieve,"
"Your the warmth in cold winter, but your also the cold in warm summer," he said as he hold that breathless hand of kris "its so cold here, without you," "his so unfair, he made me happy for one week, but also made me hearbroken for the rest of my life,"
"I wish if there is next life,i can meet you earlier, so i can be with you longer"
-akiko said as he closed his eyes everything became dark..but there is one thing that is bright and that is kris last laugh
