YOU DRIVIN’ ME CRAZY

It was Sunday morning and it’s raining heavily. I can’t barely see my way back

home. When the old and weak man suddenly appear in front of me. I’m not sure if

it just my illusion but he was cover with blood. I didn’t think anything about that

time but to save the old man. When I supported his back, he gain consciousness.

He told me not to bring him to the hospital. So I don’t have choice. I bring

him to my small apartment and treated his wounded arm.

Due to weary situation, I fallen to deep sleep. I woke up in the morning and the

old man is gone. I was a little bit upset because he left without saying

anything.

By the way, I am Xianna Amore Cui. Third Year College at UP. The person who

supported my study is my aunt who is the Singapore. If you ask me where my

family is, they’re all dead, they leave me in this world when I was five years

old. It so hard growing up without your parents, I envy those who have parents

and siblings. I wish I had one. Wait I am crying.

1month later…

I sat the bench in front of our school, and I realize that, the old man I save

was quite familiar I don’t know where I see him. But it was annoying if you

think of it, I read some in ******* if you save someone there’s coming back at

you, don’t get me wrong. I didn’t expect for that old man to return me

something valuable. But..

Shit!

It’s 2:25 pm. I only have 5 minutes to run. Damn that old man.

“Hey what’s with you men, I almost hit my head in the rock”

“Sorry I’m in a hurry”

“Wait, are you from?”

“Bye, sorry again”

What a weird man. I feel that bad luck keep chasing me. But he’s cute. Focus self

you have 1 minute left.

Late again.

“Amore! Don’t you have sense of time? You don’t have to attend my class today”

“But sir, it just 1 minute that I’ve miss the class”

“Okay take a sit. This is the last time”

“Thank you sir”

Time has gone, and our foundation day is near to come. The clubs and organizations

are busy arranging its’ set up. And I’m here under the tree chilling as if I’m

in another world.

“Hey!

Is someone calling me?

“Amore!”

“Sorry ma’am I was just taking a nap”

“Taking a nap? Your classmates are busy preparing and here you are sleeping soundly! Go

to art club and ask if the program for exhibition is ready.”

“Okay ma’am I’m going now. Ah ma’am where can I find you to tell if they ready?”

“You

can go to my office, make sure that they’re done before and if not don’t find

me”

“Noted ma’am.”

“Amore”

“Yes ma’am”

“Give this to your adviser, if he ask who give it just tell my name”

“Ma’am, you like our adviser?”

“Stop that obvious question”

“I’ll go now ma’am”

Tsk.

I have something to do, okay. You guys can you stop ordering me around? I’m not

an errand girl okay!

Hi! Excuse me! Is this the art club?

Is it obvious? What are you doing here?

Is Sir Ethan here? I’m here to deliver this box from ma’am menthel

Next week it’s going to be a busy week again. The future is uncertain, the present

is complicated. The entrep department is just a chill course if you see it

physically, but for me it is a beginning to make a small step if you want to

achieve big. If I’m powerful enough, then I will know the reason behind the

death of my parents.

But first, let’s find the most perfect company for my internship.

(Phone is ringing)

"How many time I told you don't call me if it's not important? Justine please, I'm hanging up."

"Wait? I call you because I have a good news for you. The EDD Company was opening for the internship this

year."

"What? EDD Company? If I remember it correctly last year, they didn’t allow any internship

in their company. Did they eat something poisonous?" (Crazy smile)

(Laughing)

"Is this what you want right? This is your chance. Grab this opportunity. Tomorrow 11

AM meet me at the gate. I’m going with you, I want to see how big the company is."

(Excited feeling).

"Okay"

Amore has only one friend from childhood. This is his partner in crime. Samuel has a wealth background, some girls are fighting over him but the one he like is Amore who knows nothing about love.

"Hey! Are deaf? I call you many times"

"It’s you?"

"Don't you have eyes? I'm talking with someone. Why what do you want?"

"Tsk. The old man told me to give this to you"

"What is this? Old man?"

"The one you save last month, I think. He invited you to join the EDD Company. if you're free tomorrow you can go with me. 11 PM okay don't forget that"

"No thanks, I'm with my friend. Save your energy bye"

"Hey! Is that all?"

"My name is Amore not Hey understand keep that in your mind. And what else do you want me to say? Thank you? Not yet." (smirk)

"What do you mean with that "not yet"?"

"Goodbye okay. If you have something else to say here my phone number."

"I'm not asking your phone number okay"

"Your talking too much. Here 1 peso find someone to talk to."  (Walk away)

(Halt)

"Wait! How do you know that I save someone?"

(Sigh with disbelief) "Finally you realize, are that dumb? How can that old man like someone who's is stupid?"

"I'm not stupid okay. Now tell me, how do you know?

Hey! Where are you going? Answer me you jerk!"

"Stop shouting! I'm not a jerk!'

"Look who's talking?"

"Amore! Holland! Come to my office"

"Dean?"

There eyes suddenly meet, when they realize that the Dean is talking to them.

The follow the Dean's office without knowing their mistakes. People surround them is busy and have their respective task. However, there's a threatening rain above the school.

"Okay. Here we are. As what I can see, you two have a free time. Arguing your personal matter while your classmate is tired of getting ready for the upcoming event."

The didn't answer the Dean. They have nothing else to say but apologize. But the Dean give them a punishment.

"The upcoming events is not a usual Foundation Day because this time we have a distinguish guest coming to celebrate with us. Other school will come and of course our school is the host."

"So, Dean, what are we going to do? (Chuckle) Are we going to compete or something, it's just a Founding Anniversary (shoulder shrug) what's the big deal?"

"It is our Founding Anniversary! Of course it is important. I don't know where is your sense Amore. You leave me no choice."  (The dean shook his head)

The two who has no clue what's their Dean talking about stare at each other, exchanging look. They think the Dean was about to go crazy because of the upcoming events. The Dean sat his chair and said:

"I want you guys to perform for the dance competition. The faculty already agreed for this to add some entertainment to the program. The other school will be your opponent. Since you two are from the same course, it's convenient for you to practice. You only have three days"

"Sir! Are serious there are so many talented dancers in other department!" Holland answered with disbelief.

"HAHAHA, hey Mr. Holland. Don't you know me?" Amore pointed herself as a proud dancer.

"It is your punishment for being blind and not helping your classmate in preparation"

"Dean, I agree with this. But can I ask what's the price for the champion?"

"I know you're going to ask that question Amore, the price is you know after the competition. So if you want the price you have to win"

"Ahh Dean just tell us or else I will flout" (Furious Amore)

"Are you threatening me right now Amore! GO OUT! YOU TWO LEAVE MY OFFICE FOR ONCE! GO PRACTICE NOW! I feel like my blood is boiling" (Sighing)

Amore and Holland glance at each for a second and run out quickly.

"This is your fault! I didn't dance for a long time. My body become stiff now"

"HAHAHA same here'

They end up laughing at each other with the silliness they've done

"You know I was just curious if how much the price is? So we have to practice now. Lets go"

"Seriously! Amore? If you want to win the price, you'll dance alone I don't money or anything"

"HEY! I'm sure there so many pretty girls coming, I know you can't resist them. We have to do this. How about this, you'll help me to when the price and I help you to get some chika babes for you?

"I'm not a pervert okay! Your a girl how can you think of this dirty stop?"

"HAHAHA come on, you don't have to be so beshy" (And tickle Holland)

Amore keep teasing Holland and agreed at last. They headed straight to practice room. There colleagues in the same department. But they are almost done making their booth. The two of them are former dancer but in different groups. This the first time they collaborated for the competition. They keep walking and finally find an empty room.

"Perfect! No one is  using this room. We are destine to use this"

"Destine my ***."

"KL" (Amore whisper but Holland hear it)

"KL your face, I just don't like hearing those crap"

"Fine. I'll stop talking"

"So what song are we going to use? I like upbeat song"

"Oh I like it two. Mic Drop from BTS?"

Amore play the music. However,

"Higher the volume please"

"This the highest volume of my phone. Hehehe the speaker is broken. Sit here beside me"

"What's song is this? I didn't hear it before. Whose.....

Amore suddenly turn her head when she realize there's 2 inches distance they have. She suddenly hypnotized the long lushes, pointed nose, thick brows, reddish lips and jawline.

"WOAH, so detailed" (Amore didn't notice that Holland already staring at her because of his mouth dripping with saliva)

Holland draw closer at her and flick his hand in Amore's forehead. Amore wakes from her trance.

"Ouch! It hurts! why did you do that?" (Massage her forehead at once)

"I ask you whose the singer again? Are falling my beautiful face? What are thinking just now?

"I was thinking if I could have a son like you?" (Amore answered uncleverly)

"Dream on! I don't like girls like you"

"HAHAHA I know. I have rights to imagine things beyond reality"

"Whatever. Come on get yourself together."

"So what do you think of this song?"

"I want some remix song. Do you have any remix song in your playlist?"

"I don't have. You can edit it"

1 hour later Holland finally done editing, but Amore was already asleep like a slouch. He slowly approach the sleeping Amore. He leisurely stare the face of the girl and realize she is actually pretty. She has a nice skin, heart shape lips and long lushes. He secretly take a picture and hide his cellphone once again.

"How long are you going to sleep? If you are that sleepy just go home? (The cold hearted Holland appear again)

Amore wakes up because of complaint voice. She asked Holland if he is done

"Let's start for some step. We only have 3 hours for this day"

"Can we start tomorrow? I'm so sleepy"

"No!" (Holland raise her voice)

"Why are you shouting? I'm not deaf. Fine"

The quarrel stop there and they start from the intro.

The dance step was a little bit hard for Amore, because of that Holland keeps complaining to her and told her to do right again and again

"Come on! Don't get so work. we have 2 days left okay"

"You want me to humiliate in front of the crowd? Lets start from the top"

"Yes boss" (Amore salute to annoy Holland)

"Wave smoothly your body "

Today is the foundation day. Different school who participating is already here and

everyone is waiting to finish the opening program. Everyone is ready for the

competition and the mini booth has already open.

"This is amazing! everyone seems very satisfied and happy. But Janna why is face

sullen? Did your father scold you again?

"No. I just don't understand why's Dean choose Amore over me? I am a dancer too and

I am more better than her. Ahh I'm so upset right now!"

"I'm sure that b*tch seduce Holland. Holland is a heir of a famous company."

"The competition is about to start. Lets go April, lets see what that Amore got"

Janna and April are bestfriend that dislike Amore so much. After Janna know that

Holland's partner was Amore known as "loner". Amore usually didn't

care things around her. She trust no one except his cousin/ bestfriend Leo. Her

aunt adopt her so Leo and Amore grew together.

"Hahaha! I couldn't believe that you are going to participate again in this kind of

competition again. I must video this so that mother could see you dance

again"

"Stop it Leo!"

"Come on smile at the camera. Don't worry even if you didn't win this time. I'm so

proud of you, my beloved cousin" (he is about to give a hug to Amore when

pushes him)

"I told you don't say that cheesy things to me. Ewww"

"I'm just"

Leo didn't finish what he's saying because Holland is approaching

"Here's your partner lab"

"Are ready? It's okay if you feel nervous"

"OHOHOYY don't underestimate my lab. She didn't feel nervousness at all. Right lab?"

Amore glare at him and runaway

"Why did you push away your boyfriend?"

"Excuse me he is not my boyfriend"

"Whatever. Liars go to hell" (Amore roll her eyes)

"WHAT IS UP EVERYONE. BEFORE CALLING THE NEXT CONTESTANT. ENTREP DEPARTMENT MAKES

HOLLLAND HOLLAND HOLLANDI LOVE YOU"

"Tsk those witches"

"GOOOOO AMOREE MY LAB"

"Seem that you found a supporting boyfriend huh"

"Shut Up"

"OKAY LET US ALL WELCOME OUR NEXT CONTESTANT ENTREP DEPARTMENT. AROUND OF

APPLAUSE"

Music start

Crowds cheering and holding banner

"It's been a long time since I stomped the stage. Indeed it is really great to hear

voices that cheering you and seeing how proud they are to you. However, those

voices couldn't last forever. It was all temporary, but at least you feel those

happiness and excitement for a while. I just wish that my parent should see me

dancing in the dazzling stage. I just wish that they call my name and cheer me

here in the stage" (Amore tears are about to fall because of remembering

her past but Holland notice it and smile at her)

They finish the dance after they bow  Amore quickly leave the stage scare that

people might laugh her for stupidity. But Holland go after her.

"Are you crying? Hey we dance such hip-hop music I can't believe you become this

emotional in your tough character"

"Why don't have I the right? I was just reminiscing the past of me" (The

atmosphere around them become serious and chiller)

"You know I was a famous dancer back in my high school days. People have been

cheering me happily and shout my name that time but after" (She didn't

continue her story and look up to Holland who handed a handkerchief)

"HAHAHA seriously why do I have to tell you this , you didn't care at all" (He

stand up and get the handkerchief and walk away)

"I don't know that you have this side seems like I have to work hard to gain your

trust" (Holland whisper himself)

The MC speak again and the judges already  handed the scores. Everyone is nervous

whose gonna win this time.

"And the champion in the dance competition is....'

The crowd cheering start cheering again.

"Lets keep quite for a while okay. The champion is Entrep Department, UP"

"Yesssss I have 10k"(Amore was so happy and jumping like a kid and didn't realize

she was hugging Holland)

The eyes of girls become a tigers that ready to attack

"Are you that happy it's just 10k. Why so happy about that small amount"

"WOW small amount. I can't believe you riches people. Yes it just 10k and that 10k

will be my tuition and for the rent of apartment" (Amore climb at the

stage with big smile and cold shoulder for Holland)

"Excuse miss can I know your name? I was so amaze your talent and confidence in the stage a while ago"

"Amore. Nice to meet you" (Amore offer a shake hands and while Holland suppressing his anger"

"I'm Jonathan. I was a trainee if EDD Company. If you don't mind you can"

"OH! What a coincidence. I also apply the EDD Company for my internship"

The of them were laughing at each other while Holland was there as if he was invisible.

"Ehemm. I'm going out first"

"Sir Holland sorry I was so excited that I didn't notice you"

"You know each other?" (Amore was a little confuse)

"Yeah. He is the grandson of the CEO of EDD Company"

"This person is the heir of that company?" (Amore cover her mouth with disbelief)

"Seem like I got a big shot (Amore turn her head to Holland with blinking eyes) Well Holland. No Mr. Holland I'm sorry for what I told you earlier. I didn't mean it"

"If you didn't save grandpa that day I didn't like to talk to you. Who likes a loner like you and pretentious woman" (Holland walk away)

"Hey! Holland stop there" (Jonathan call him but he pretend not to hear)

"Ammhh Amore don't take it to heart. Holland is just a cold hearted but"

Jonathan didn't finish what he about to say because Amore was already running. The tears in her eyes that she hold for a while finally drip in her  face. The excitement and happiness replaced by sadness and hatred.

She arrived at her apartment with regrets. She was just staring at her phone where Leo was calling. Though she win the competition but she feel like a loser.
