''Long Long ago, when the humans were not even born, the earth which was full of dense forests, there were only existence of angles who lived in the 'Garden of Eden'. They lived together in peace. They were really nice to each other and as well as friendly. Their relation was really amazing. But suddenly they changed. Violence and jealousy started to grow among them. They started to hate each other. Soon a war broke down in the Garden of Eden for the first time. Some angels Fell from the Garden due to the war. Some of them fell on the earth while others, nobody knows where they disappeared. Some believes that those who's existence is not known, are the ones whom we call 'SATAN' . And the ones who fell on earth are known as LESHY, the Slavic beast of the woods.''

''Woo sounds interesting.'' - Bertha exclaimed as she flipped the first page to second. She is very excited to complete the book as soon as possible as her patients are running out. The moment she flipped the page, her father opened the door of her room, making her flinch by the sudden noise. 

''Dear, I am home.'' - Mr. Tumbler a.k.a Bertha's father said as he made his way to his lovely daughter.

''Dad.'' - Bertha ran to her dad and wrapped her tiny arms around the slightly old man with small beard, hugging him tightly as if he'll get lost if she doesn't.

''My dear child, did you miss me?'' - He asked as he hugged her back.

''Not that much.'' - She literally lied as she smiled. Bertha loves her father as much as her father loves her. Both of them equally missed each other. She denied the fact because she was angry with him for being late.

''Don't lie. I know you missed me.'' - He said as he pinched Bertha's tiny nose, ''Your eyes are enough to tell me that you missed me a lot. So, did you get bored?''

''No, I found an interesting book today. So, I Didn't get bored.'' - She said 

''Hmm. You learned to live on your own in just one day. That's very impressive. I have to give you a reward for that'' - He said as he put his hand in his pocket, rummage for a while before pulling out some chocolate bars. Her face lit up by that. She took the chocolate bar before thanking her father.

''And what was 'that book' you were talking about?

''Dad it's a fantasy book I guess. You should see.'' - She said while passing the book to her father.

''Maybe later.'' - He said as he as he took the book from her hand, place it on the table before looking at Bertha, ''Let's eat dinner first.''

[at the dinner table]

''Oh I forgot to ask do you like the new house, sweety?'' - He asked 

''yeah a lot. I found a lot of interesting stuffs here.'' - Bertha said as she took a slurp on her soup.

''You must have found a lot of treasures. Well what did you find?'' - He asked again

''I found a flute, A traditional lamp made with paper which was really beautiful. And I found an interesting book which I was talking about. It wa...'' - Bertha was cut off by the sudden howl coming from the forest. With a light scream she bounced on her chair.

''What was that, Dad? It's so scary.'' - She asked him, eyes shut as the howl gets more loud.

''Oh that? It's nothing.'' - He said with a smile, ''Maybe some wild Wolves. Don't worry they live in their own zone. They won't come here. As long as you don't step in there zone, I mean the forest.''

''The forest. Rest assure dad cause I won't go there. I already know a big secret lying on the forest. But what if they come here.'' - Bertha said with horror.

''Don't worry my child. If they even come here I will fight and save my princess from them.'' - He said as he tapped on my head.

''But I heard they are really strong. Way stronger than you.'' - She mocked

''Well I am more stronger than them.'' - He said

After a long talk, both of them finished their dinner. Bertha went to her room as so her father. 

[In Bertha's room]

oh I can't fall asleep. They are making so noise. Should I see? No, what if they attack me. How would they attack me? Dad said they live in their own zone. I would just peek sneakily to see what are they.

Bertha looked from the window. She unclearly saw something red glowing. She rubbed her eyes and again take a look. What she saw was really inexpiable. She saw four red glowing eyes. She freaked out and went to her father. That night she slept with her dad trembling all over her body.

[The next morning]

Bertha wake up before finding out the room which was full of darkness. She reached the windows to see the sky being grayish. ''It's gonna rain heavy today.'' - She yawned before hearing some noise coming from the living room. She walked toward the toilet while rubbing her eyes. She grabbed the tooth brash, brash her teeth and wash her face before coming down to the living room

''Good morning dad.'' - Bertha greeted her father. Her eyes stopped toward the slightly old lady in front of her father.

''Good morning sweety. Meet this aunt. She's our neighbor. You haven't met her yet, right?'' - Mr. Tumbler said 

''I guess not.'' - I said

''Aww such a cute kid. What's your name sweety?'' - She said as she pinch on her cheek. It hurt a lot but still she didn't say anything

''I am Bertha Tumbler. I am 9 years old this year. Nice to meet you.'' - I said as she rubbed her cheek, slightly angry at the fact that her cheek is still burning from the pinch.

''Are you here with your child only Mr. Tumbler?'' - She asked Mr. Tumbler who was sipping on his tea.

''Umm yes. Her mom died in a car accident 2 years ago and we lost her that time.'' - His face was already doomed by the statement.

'I'm sorry, It's just...It's so miserable.'' - She said

''hmm. It was even hard for her to bear all this.'' - He said as he point on Bertha who was now playing quietly with her dolls.

It was true that Bertha has to bear a lot since her mother was not there but her father was there in her mother's place. Mr. Tumbler is an workaholic person but when he comes home he give all the time to her lovely daughter. She lacked a lot but her father was patients enough to teach her. She couldn't even brush her teeth, comb her hair, even bathe her. Her dad raised her from all of this. After her mom's death, some woman's wanted to marry her father but he didn't marry because of his daughter. Bertha had only one aunt who wanted to keep her as their child because of his father being a workaholic person. But she didn't agree. She likes her dad as he is. It's irritating sometimes when he comes home extremely late, but still she can't leave him, she can't bear to not see him even for one day.

Bertha and her dad came to an unknown village for his father's work, although she don't know what is his work. At first she didn't liked the new house because it was really shabby and tiny. After finding some interesting stuffs in this place, she started to like the new place. It took her one whole day to explore the whole house, the pond, the garden and everything. After a long tour of the new house she felt exhausted and went to her room. There she found a book named "LESHY'' on the bed stand, near the lamp. She spend most of her time by reading that book as she likes horror and mythical stuffs. From there, she learned a lot of things about the forest and others, like...

''LESHY, is a Slavic monster of the forest who lives alone in the forest. They are scattered in the dense forests of the world. They combine their energy with trees and became more and more powerful. They attached a part of their body with trees to have power. They can do shape shifting into anything but their original form will return if they lose their power. Sometimes they became larger than a tree again sometimes they can became even smaller than a grass. They usually don't harm humans. They harm When a lonely passenger walk through the deep forest and insult or annoy or badmouth or harm trees. They harm them as punishment. But the way of they're punishment is really scary. They make the passengers lost their way. The passenger became very weak by searching the way out. Then LESHY attack them ruthlessly''.

A few days pass by nothing much. In this few days she noticed that her father being stressful a lot. He even forgot to tell good bye to Bertha before heading to his work two times.

''Dear I have to go to the town now for some errands. You have to stay just one day with this aunt.  I'll be back soon. Take care.'' - He said as soon as he ran toward his room. Bertha was already stressed because of not being able to see her dad for one day. But there was another reason for her to stay with her father. She hates that aunt. She don't know how'll she stay with her

It's been 2 hours since Bertha's father has gone to the city, still Bertha can't deal with it. Something keep telling her that her father is in danger. She wants to forget the fact that her father is gone and will return to her the next day, but she can't. She can't even eat properly because of that reason. Not only that reason...another big reason is that fat lady who is the most irritating person Bertha have ever encounter. 

[Flashback takes place the day when Bertha met the lady for the second time]

''I'll be coming late today sweety. This Aunt will take care of you okay.'' - Mr. Tumbler said as he place a kiss on Bertha's forehead, ''Sorry''

He ran out of our house as he was getting late, leaving Bertha with a fat-cheeked, red curly haired, slightly old lady. she turned around to see the lady giving me a warm smile.

''Come here Bertha, have breakfast while it's hot'' - Ms. Marianna a.k.a The lady said 

''okay.'' - I nodded

After having breakfast, Bertha went to her room as always. She started to read the book. After a couple of hours she felt extremely exhausted. It was near 1 pm which was past her bathing time, but still she wants to take a quick bath. She came out of the room to find Ms. Marianna doing nothing but eating her precious chocolates and biscuits while watching TV. Bertha was carefully observing all these. She went to her.

''Aunt I wanna bath.'' - Bertha asked with a soft voice, slightly annoyed by the fact that she's eating her stuffs.

''Then go. Why asking me?'' - She said as she took another bite at the chocolate.

''I don't know how?'' - Bertha said as she was playing with her fingers.

''What type of joke is this? Your quite enough to take bath on your own.'' - She shouted right in Bertha's ear before turning to the TV.

''okay.'' - She said in a low tone before returning to her room. She didn't shower that day although she wanted to. Her mind was on what the lady said. She dunno why but suddenly she feels herself like a burden. 

Bertha was keep trying to get close to that women but she kept on pushing her away. Like, she would ask her to play with her, feed her and so on but she'd just scold her instead. She tried to tell her dad. But he was so busy this days that he couldn't even take a look at her. She was so lonely and all. That woman even sometimes beat her when she tries to tell her dad.

It's been two days since her father has gone to the city. Now Bertha feels that something is definitely wrong. Her dad promised her to come back in one day then why is it taking long. She started to feel scared from what she had been feeling. 

''What if father is stuck in somewhere in the forest'' - She said to herself before running out of her room. She scanned the living room before running toward the kitchen, hoping Ms. Marianna to be there.

''Aunt it's been two days, why hasn't dad came  back?" - I asked

''I think there is something wrong. I couldn't reach him. The connection was fine before he headed to the forest -''

''What? Forest? He headed to the forest?'' - I cut her off

''Yes. He said it would be a shortcut.''

Bertha's POV

I don't know what was running into my head, but I had the urge to go find my dad who was in the forest now. Forest, where the deadly animals are, where the LESHY's are. This thought is enough to make me cry. I don't want to lose my father at this age, I can't. I have already encounter the world's cruelest animal which I assume is my surroundings, so why afraid the animals in the forest. If I die than it's better than live in this torture.

''I have to go.'' - I said as I ran toward the maid door which leaded to outside, but was interrupted by the lady. She grabbed on my t-shirt and tugged me hard enough to slam me on the wall. 

''where do you think you're going?'' - She spat on me angrily

''To save my dad of course.'' - I literally yelled at her. I was holding all the angriness in me cause dad told me to always behave. But now I can't anymore.

''You and your dad is really troublesome. You are going nowhere. Got it? Silly fellow.'' - She dragged me to my room and throw me inside before locking the room. 

''Aunt please let me go. I won't ask for your help. I have to save him. Without him I would be lonely. Aunt, Aunt.'' - I shouted but no one respond. I can here the footsteps going back to the living room, '' What am I going to do? I have to save him before it's too late.'' 

As I was in my own world to how to get out of here, a whistling wind blow through the window, surprising me. ''Oh I have got an Idea.'' - I said before running to my closet to get my school backpack. I packed the necessary stuffs which would probably need in this long journey which includes torch, water bottle and some snacks which I kept hidden from that lady. I always watch adventure TV shows which lead me this idea of packing. 

I didn't think twice before jumping through the window which was on the first floor and run towards the forest. I didn't saw that Ms. Marianna was in the garden. I just run and run.

''Who's that girl? Her dress is so similar to Ber..........wait'' - Ms. Marianna screamed before running to Bertha's room, finding no one there. 

''WHERE DID THAT GIRL GO????''
