The Morgan mansion was quiet—a strange kind of quiet that never felt warm. It wasn’t cold either. Just… indifferent. In the huge kitchen, Aria Morgan moved silently, preparing breakfast the way she had for the past three years. No one asked her to, but no one stopped her either. She placed the tea on the counter just as Meera walked in.
Meera Morgan ( Ml mother - in law)
Meera Morgan ( Ml mother - in law)
“…Aria. You’re awake.”
Aria Morgan ( Fl )
Aria Morgan ( Fl )
“Yes, Mother.”
(No smile exchanged. Only formality.)

“Tea?”
Aria Morgan ( Fl )
Aria Morgan ( Fl )
“I made some.”
(Meera nodded. Not thankful. Just acknowledging.)
Ethan was already seated, scrolling through his phone. Alia sipped juice silently. Ayesha entered last, cheerful but busy with her messages. No one looked up. Aria served.
Ayesha Morgan ( Ml sister )
Ayesha Morgan ( Ml sister )
“Thanks, Aria.” (said gently, but already distracted)
No one asked how she slept. No one noticed she looked pale. Her eyes flicked toward the staircase when footsteps echoed.
Adrian Morgan—her husband—appeared, adjusting his watch. His expression was calm, unreadable. He sat. Didn’t look at her.
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
“Coffee.”
Aria poured it without a word.
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )

Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
[His tone was neutral, not worried, not rude—just factual.]
Three years of marriage, yet they spoke like distant acquaintances. He drank his coffee. She stared at her untouched plate.
Aria handed his lunchbox, standing near the car.
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )

“I’ll be late.
Aria Morgan ( Fl )
Aria Morgan ( Fl )
“…Okay.”
A pause. He got into the car. No goodbye. No look back. She stood until the gate closed.
in Afternoon
Her parental home felt louder… yet somehow lonelier. They welcomed her with smiles— but not warmth.
Myra Hayes ( Fl mother)
Myra Hayes ( Fl mother)
“Oh, Aria. You came. Sit somewhere.”
Myra Hayes ( Fl mother)

(Not come here, not I missed you—just functional.)
Lily Hayes ( Fl sister )

“…It was sudden.”
Lily Hayes ( Fl sister )

: “Well… never mind.”
Lily adored everyone around her—friends, cousins, strangers— but when it came to Aria… her affection never reached full. Just enough to look polite. Aaron entered with Mira.
Aaron Hayes ( Fl brother)

“You could have called. I would’ve picked you.”

Mira Hayes ( Fl sister-in-law)

“You look tired, Aria.”
Aria Morgan ( Fl )
Aria Morgan ( Fl )
“I’m fine.”
They asked questions, but never waited for answers. Her father, Cole Hayes, finally looked up from his newspaper.
cole Hayes ( Fl father )
cole Hayes ( Fl father )
“Everything fine with your husband?”
Aria Morgan ( Fl )
Aria Morgan ( Fl )
Yes
Question closed. No follow-up.
Aria sipped her tea quietly. Her family wasn’t cruel. They weren’t abusive. They simply… never saw her fully. They loved Lily. They teased Aaron. They praised Mira. They admired everyone— Except Aria. Not intentionally… Just carelessly. She was always the unnoticed page in a colorful book.
Aria returned before sunset. No one asked where she’d been. She began preparing dinner. Meera glanced at her.
Meera Morgan ( Ml mother - in law)
Meera Morgan ( Ml mother - in law)
“You went to your parents’?”
Aria Morgan ( Fl )
Aria Morgan ( Fl )
“Yes.”

She continued cutting vegetables. No more questions. Ayesha helped only a few minutes before leaving for a call. Alia sat in the living room reading. Ethan was in his study. Liam had gone out. Aria cooked quietly.
He walked in, loosened his tie, and sat on the couch. Aria brought him water.
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
“Thank you.”

Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
“Yes.”
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
“You look unwell these days. A change of environment might help.”
That was the closest thing to care she had heard from him in months. A small knot loosened in her chest— not happiness… just relief someone noticed.
Aria Morgan ( Fl )
Aria Morgan ( Fl )
okay
in room
Aria folded clothes. Adrian typed. Neither spoke. Finally—
Aria Morgan ( Fl )
Aria Morgan ( Fl )
“Adrian… we’ve never taken a trip… just the two of us.”
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
He paused. Looked up.
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
“We will. Someday.”
In three years, Aria had learned— even smallest crumbs from him were the only affection she might ever receive. She quietly continued packing. Lights dimmed. Distance remained.

Chapter- 3

The airport was loud and bright, filled with rushing footsteps and echoing announcements. But between Adrian and Aria… silence followed like a shadow. Aria walked beside him, clutching her small handbag. Adrian pulled the suitcase, expression blank, always composed. At check-in, the staff smiled at Adrian.
Staff: “Good morning, Mr. Morgan. Welcome back.”
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
“Thank you.”
They didn’t even notice Aria standing beside him. Adrian didn’t introduce her. He never did. Aria offered a polite smile anyway. It went unseen.
A young couple in front of them laughed together, teasing each other playfully. Aria watched, expression unreadable. Adrian noticed her gaze.
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
“…What?”
Aria Morgan ( Fl )
Aria Morgan ( Fl )
“Nothing.”
He followed her eyes, understood. Said nothing. He wasn’t jealous. He wasn’t ignorant. He just… didn’t know how to fill the distance.
They sat side by side. A window seat and the aisle. No hand touched the other. Aria looked out at the clouds forming. Adrian opened his laptop. After a while…
Aria Morgan ( Fl )
Aria Morgan ( Fl )
“Did you tell your mother?”
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
“Yes.”
Aria Morgan ( Fl )
Aria Morgan ( Fl )
" Oh "
She thought maybe Meera would have messaged her. She didn’t. Adrian typed. Aria leaned her head on the glass. Silence again. Halfway through the flight, the attendant approached.
Attendant: “Mr. Morgan, can I get you anything?”
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
“Black coffee.”
The woman smiled. She turned to Aria.
Attendant: “And for you, ma’am?”
Aria Morgan ( Fl )
Aria Morgan ( Fl )
[Aria blinked. She wasn’t expecting to be asked.]
Aria Morgan ( Fl )
Aria Morgan ( Fl )
“Water… please.”
The attendant nodded. Adrian glanced at her.
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
“You should eat something.”
Aria Morgan ( Fl )
Aria Morgan ( Fl )
“I’m not hungry.”
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
“…Take something anyway.”
His tone was still neutral, but firmer. So she nodded. He ordered a pastry for her. She took a small bite, surprised he noticed. Simple gesture. Bare minimum. Yet it warmed something small inside her.
Mumbai hit them with warm air and busy roads. Life everywhere. Noise, chaos, color. Aria inhaled deeply. The city somehow felt more alive than she did. A car waited outside. Adrian opened the door for her. Not romantically. Automatically. A small courtesy he never thought about. But it still counted. They sat.
Aria leaned toward the window, watching crowded streets, vendors, buildings, oceanside glimpses. Adrian noticed.
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
“You’ve never been here.”
Aria Morgan ( Fl )
Aria Morgan ( Fl )
No
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
“You’ll like it. People come here to become someone.”
Aria Morgan ( Fl )
Aria Morgan ( Fl )
“And some leave… still unknown.”
He looked at her, but she kept staring outside. He didn’t know how to respond. The driver interrupted.
Driver: “Sir, conference tomorrow morning?”
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
“Yes.”
Driver: “Madam also attending?”
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
“No—she’s here to rest.”
Aria blinked. Aria thought: Rest? Or stay invisible? But she didn’t ask.
Opulent hotel lobby—crystal chandeliers, soft piano, grand silence. Adrian led. Aria followed. At reception:
Receptionist: “Welcome, Mr. Morgan. Suite 1905 reserved.”
Her eyes shifted toward Aria politely.
“And… Mrs. Morgan. Welcome.”
The room was spacious, elegant— but only one bed at center. Aria paused. Three years of marriage— yet sleeping together was still rare. Not because of hate. Just… absence. Adrian removed his coat.
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
“You can rest. I’ll be working next room.”
He pointed at the attached study-space. Aria nodded. He stepped away. Door closed softly. Aria sat on the bed. It felt too comfortable. Too strange. She looked around— Balcony City lights A piano in the corner Her breath hitched. She walked toward it. She hadn’t touched a piano in years. Aria slowly pressed a key. Soft sound. Like a memory. She hesitated… Press again. Then another… and another… A melody began forming— gentle, emotional, secret. Her secret. She closed her eyes, and her voice followed— low, soulful, trembling. For the first time in a long time… She wasn’t silent.
A soft knock. She froze. Stopped singing immediately. Adrian entered. He had heard a hint— not enough to recognize her voice fully.
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
“You okay?”
Aria Morgan ( Fl )
Aria Morgan ( Fl )
“Yes. Just… looking around.”
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
[He looked at the piano. Then at her.]
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
“You play?”
Aria Morgan ( Fl )
Aria Morgan ( Fl )
“No… not really.”
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
Adrain Morgan ( Ml )
“I’m going to meet someone downstairs. Rest.”
She nodded. He left. As the door closed, her heart hammered. She had sung. Even if by accident. And he was close enough to hear. Maybe the world was trying to tell her something— a beginning, or a warning.
