The bus rumbled through the busy New York streets. Teenagers talk, laugh, some with earbuds in.
In the back, a guy–Fabiano sat next to a girl leaning against the window eyes closed–Rosa.

Rosa nodded slightly. No words.

Rosa sighed, eyes still closed.

The hallway was quiet, except for the sharp sounds of heels clicking against the floor.
Sydney walked upstairs slowly.
She reached the lounge room.
Federico sat alone at the counter, a glass of wine in his hand.
His other hand rested on the counter, fingers tapping gently. He didn't look up right away.

I must've kept you waiting. Sorry.
Federico looked at her. His face was calm, but his eyes weren't.
Federico Sedvaliza (ML)
It's okay. I heard you wanted to tell me something.
Sydney Del Rey
Yeah...I wanted to tell you–I'll be out again.
Federico scoffed. He took a slow sip of wine.
Federico Sedvaliza (ML)
No problem.
Sydney shifted on her feet.

Livia sat on the edge of their bed, worried.
she had just found out Rosa had sneaked out.
She paced back and forth, her heart raced.
She stopped by the window, checked her phone again–no reply. Her calls went unanswered.
With a sigh, phone in hand. Stepped outside.
She stood by the gate, phone still in her hand.
The night air was cool, but her mind was burning with worry.
She opened her messages, typed, erased, then typed again. Still no reply.
She looked down the empty street, hoping to see Rosa walking back.
but the road stayed quiet.

~STREET NEAR THE APARTMENT GATE~
Livia stood a little farther from the gate now.
She had walked down the street, hoping to see something. But it was still empty.
She sighed and turned around to go back. Then she saw her.
Rosa was walking in through the gate, looking around quietly, trying not to be seen.
Livia stopped. Watched. Eyes wide.
Rosa tiptoed in, unaware.
Livia quickly walked back and caught up to her.
Rosa felt a sudden light punch on her back.
Rosa Ian (FL's sister)
Ouch!
She froze when she saw her sister.
Livia Ian (FL)
Where did you go? Do you know how worried I was?
Rosa looked down, talking softly.

Sorry...I went out to the library.
Livia gave her a sharp look.
